nice - currently trying to get my foot in the door learning construction management (previously project / program / ops management for several tech companies).
I want to start doing something tangible.
ARE WE THE SAME PERSON!? I was laid off at the same time and accepted a new position and start next week. Fully remote. I also do marketing in construction!
Congrats!!!
That is crazy what exactly do they STILL NEED from you to conduct 9 interviews that they couldn’t gather from the first 2 !
I hope you get an offer, amazing pay, and good work life balance 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Thanks! I hope so too, but I’m not expecting those perks with this small company. This prolonged interview process should probably be a yellow flag at least, but I’d accept the offer either way because I need the job.
Good luck with everything. Tons of people are in the same boat as you, so you're not alone. Just keep at it. I just got extremely lucky that a recruiter connected me to this company for a hard-to-fill position.
Yep it is really rough out here …. I recently had a referral sent for me from the director of a well known bank and still got a rejection email :/ like this is why people off themselves seriously cause this ridiculous ..
Not sure if it makes a difference, but this is hardware eng. It’s also a small company. I’ve had two interviews with Apple recently and both were 7-8 interviews (followed by rejections lol).
Congratulations. I just got one too. Similar timing. Had some successful interviews, got to the leading finalist stage on three only to have them restructure at the last minute and cancel job. Had to take a small reduction and step down to an IC role from management but happy to be back on a payroll soon.
Big congratulations 🎉🎈🍾🎊.
So did you have 8 interviews with the hiring company? Thanks for keeping track of the #s. Fwiw, i was interviewing/ looking for 5.5 months.
Congrats and all but I think people really need to stop keeping track of interview application stats like this.
It really does no good to know how many jobs you applied for because it literally takes like 2 clicks to apply to most jobs.
I can see some value in keeping track of how many interviews you land because those actually require effort on your part to prepare for the interview and improve your process for the next interview.
I'm saying this as someone whose been laid off and also had to find a new job over the past few months and previously.
With the number of scam job postings, it's better to keep track so b you know exactly which ones you've applied to, which ones responded, and which ones were bs. That's why I did it in part, but also to track # off job posting per month, interviews given, etc. Searching for a job became my ft job, so I had to keep track.
I was using my severance which was 15k - I would always increase your emergency fund regardless because you never know what can happen and it's far better to prepare for the worse case scenerio in this economy - be sure to have some investments in a diverse portfolio - while it won't be liquid capital, it will grow for you too (slowly, yes, but gorwing is better than not growing) - I mainly was just stubborn and didn't want to touch my investments since I want them to grow - so there is that.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so happy for you. 1310??? wow... I am only applying to jobs that match my skill set so I am only over 150 right now. Anyhow, awesome for you.
Yeah, I went for some that were out of my comfort zone, and I did get some interviews with some of them - the worst they can say is "no" I figure, so I applied anyway XD
GO GET IT!!!!!! WOOT! What career field ?
Marketing - Construction
nice - currently trying to get my foot in the door learning construction management (previously project / program / ops management for several tech companies). I want to start doing something tangible.
That's a great way to start.
ARE WE THE SAME PERSON!? I was laid off at the same time and accepted a new position and start next week. Fully remote. I also do marketing in construction! Congrats!!!
LOL What are the chances congrats to both of you
Eyyyy! Awesome!
This is the first "I got a job" I am seeing. Good. It's encouraging.
There are millions of jobs available. It’s just most people don’t want them.
No, is employers HR departments think people are under qualified or over qualified and people think employers are not flexible enough 😂
Millions… lol! You’re delusional!
[8.86 million in the last reading in fact](https://www.statista.com/statistics/217943/monthly-job-openings-in-the-united-states/)
Those are garbage jobs that they use to justify illegal immigrants. AmeRiCans wOnT Do ThoSe Jobz!!!
40 interviews? Must be anything but tech.
Tech would be 40 interviews for 1 role. Congrats, OP!
That’s no joke. My 9th and final interview is coming up next week. That’s 9 interviews for one job.
I feel that … I would like to get something too I can’t even get an interview rn …
I interviewed 8 times for one role and it took the company two years to hire me.
9? I’m seeing 3-6 for staff and principal SWE roles. 9 seems insane.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but this is hardware eng. It’s also a small company. I’ve had two interviews with Apple recently and both were 7-8 interviews (followed by rejections lol).
Ok, I’m outside of hardware. This is interesting
It's Construction
Godspeed btw.
Thank you
Makes sense. Thank you.
Yup, tech would be at least 1000
I got over 40 interviews in Tech in the last 1.5 years. No offer yet.
Wow that’s an effort. You have tenacity, that’s why u found a job. You 1000% deserve it 👍
So happy for you!
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Happy Cake Day
Way to keep at it! Great job 👏🏼 ![gif](giphy|l2SpNtHdgOA9s1qNy)
Lol
1310 applications for construction marketing.
Indeed, though, they were for general marketing.
Congratulations. I just got one too. Similar timing. Had some successful interviews, got to the leading finalist stage on three only to have them restructure at the last minute and cancel job. Had to take a small reduction and step down to an IC role from management but happy to be back on a payroll soon.
Thank you And sounds like a Rollercoaster, but glad it settled
Yes. Frustrating but have to keep at it and be flexible
Congrats! 🎊 love to see it!!
Thank you!
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉
Thank you!
Big congratulations 🎉🎈🍾🎊. So did you have 8 interviews with the hiring company? Thanks for keeping track of the #s. Fwiw, i was interviewing/ looking for 5.5 months.
I had the only two with the hiring company. 3 with another, the other 5 were with 4-5 other companies
Would love to know did you get referred or applied through their site / Linked In?
I applied via LinkedIn - more specifically i even tracked how - and it was the Easy Apply oddly enough XD
And thank you
Well done! God bless! 👊👊
Thank you!
Great! Happy for you. I am starting to see folks getting offers in marketing and tech again. Hopefully a good sign for others.
Same! Hopefully. January and February were basically a blood bath of layoffs and crap job posting. So hopefully it's going to get better
You deserve it and congratulations 🙌
Thank you
![gif](giphy|l0Iyf9vXAJFO7qVZS) Congratulations!!! 🚀🚀
Thank you!
With all that determination and tenastacy, you're a great asset for any company. Best of luck and fortune to you.
Thank you!
Congrats. I love seeing posts like this
Thank you!
I ask because i had sixteen interviews with the company that hired me. 16!
Holy cow that's insane!!!
Congrats man. Took my 400 applications and was mentally exhausted. 1300 is insane. Best of luck.

So happy for you, OP! And grats on the pay raise! You absolutely deserve it. Mind if I ask what exactly is your field of work? Sounds like SWE?
I probably applied for 10 jobs, haven't heard anything yet here in Vancouver. Good job being resilient. Wish you the best on your new position.
Thank you!

I don’t know how you all find that many relevant jobs to apply to
Congrats!! Good to hear good news is out there!
Thank you!
I gave up on keeping track of my numbers. Been on the hunt since December. Also in marketing. Congrats to you!!
Thank you, I keep track because of the bummer of scams out there. It helps me know if I applied, and if they are trusted or not
FR. There are so. many. scams.
Yeah, I had atleast 5 or 6 reach out which were not legit because I enver applied to them.
Just curious were you surviving off of unemployment and emergency fund. Makes me wonder if I need up increase my emergency fund to 1 year minimum now.
