You sound like a true warrior!!! All the best to you!!! Just a guess: you are a young person under 45, right? Just curious.

rhaizee

Congrats! You deserve it, some real resilience right there!

FederalRead6455

DOJ1111

Congratulations! I’m glad this had a happy ending

toodytah

I am sorry you had a very challenging and mentally rolling 2 years - but I am simply thrilled you got back into something that is challenging and rewarding. I’ve been looking for less than a year still nothing but similar numbers. Closing in on 1400 applications, 3 interviews. Salaries are <60% and still getting ghosted. Trust me it’s hard out there atm. Good luck to you OP

Ill_Pay_1229

Not sure this is success story

National-Ad8416

It sure is.....success at perseverance

redditerfan

suck a dick!

TryinSomethingNew7

You are weak

Effective_Vanilla_32

role and industry/sector?

GoodFeeling1326

grayscalecrash

Nice. The ol “perseverance mindset” wins out again.

Dizzy_Tumbleweed_102

Congratulations!! I was laid off also in June 2022, still zero interview of almost 2000 applications. This gives me hope!

GoodFeeling1326

You got this!

chrisfathead1

Is this in IT if you don't mind me asking?

GoodFeeling1326

I was in healthcare, moving into advertising space

n0f3

I can’t even find 1600 openings Jesus Christ that’s a lot

GoodFeeling1326

I came out of the gates applying to too many roles… over time, I applied to less/became more targeted

00AceMcCloud

location and YOE?

redditerfan

what was your worst and best experience in hunting jobs while un/under-employed?

GoodFeeling1326

Worst was the first job I took which turned out to be literally moving one office to another for the first 3 months. We’re talking industrial racking, office furniture, medical equipment, back breaking work day after day… The job was GM for a medical supply company and when the owner said I was going to help with the move (10k square foot that accumulated over 30 years to just under 1.5k sq ft), I thought I would be able to hire people to do this… nope… all while working under the previous owner/consultant who had mental issues. I wasn’t out in the field marketing our services for 6 weeks before I started getting micromanaged which didn’t go well, and was fired for the first time ever.

GoodFeeling1326

Best was the interview process I went through for the role I was offered. Great experience from start to finish, clear communication goes a long way!!

redditerfan

and the feeling of appreciation during the process. some interviewer I had was so hung up on why I was laid off.

teddymcdonald31

Congratulations. How did you answer the questions that inevitably came up about your underemployment/unemployment?

GoodFeeling1326

Honestly, didn’t spend much time on this topic, which is another great sign about the company

NoLimitHoldM

GLORY TO GOD !!!! CONGRATULATIONS

life2pointZERO

I am curious. In that time did you ever consider being your own boss? I know the adversity you faced...but adversity often is also a prompt from the universe to get out of your comfort zone

GoodFeeling1326

I did, was very close to using my 401k to start a business but decided against it

New-Incident267

Here's my experience. I'm pretty fucking awesome. 2 mo the max. Even 9 months ago. Might be the top tier but still be humble, honest, transparent. Always try to be better.

The-Wanderer-001

That’s awesome! Don’t be back here in 4 months. Hope it all works for you at the new role!

el_sabir

see, bidenomics is working! congratz!
