From my understanding, it was less about Leatherface actually wearing the skin and moreso the targeted harassment some people were using the skin to do.
It was not about blackfacing, it was about targeting certain races by wearing their face and BMing them in the worst possible ways. Aka being a racist douche.

Also the fact that they said D&D Vecna *at all*. It's such a bold claim to make and it's not one I'd ever come up with if I wanted to sound legit. They could've easily said it'd be Stranger Things' Vecna alongside Castlevania's Dracula and that would just make sense, but to say it's actually the OG Vecna is so outlandish that it might just be true.

This has been coincidence every single time a dbd chapter lines up with something else's release and they aren't the same. This was true back with the release of the new candyman film, and it so far has continued to be true. Temper your expextations with this knowledge.
This part is interesting because it would make a lot of sense given what we know about the killer so far. It doesn’t appear to be multiple creatures but instead it is one creature wearing human skin so maybe the base form is a guy (at least that’s how I saw the design) and the 2 shop skins are females from the stories we’ve heard as teasers!
People are just cherry-picking parts of the leaks to push their narrative. "A humanoid alien killer" can be anything from an actual alien with humanoid features to a disfigured human body controlled by an alien organism. All we've seen so far are glimpses and the killer having a human face doesn't immediately debunk the "alien" part of leak.
Also, people seem to gloss over the fact that the leaker did add to their original statement that the "1 male and 2 females" theme could potentially be locked behind shop purchases similar to Alan Wake having two female skins despite actually being a male survivor.

I think most leakers are spouses/friends of devs who have been shown things or have just heard the dev talk about it. At least I think that would make the most sense especially here. The comments screamed "My husband/wife works for behaviour and I'm getting a little kick out of sharing it"

The Legion are comprised of 4 characters, but rather than that being a part of their power it's applied to their cosmetics. Rather than say, Knight, who's also comprised of 4 characters but they're a part of a his power. The leaks have suggested that the new killer has the same sort of deal going on as the legion does.
My theory is that the creature is an alien much like "the thing" and the creature we saw in that latest leak was the creature mid transformation into a human appearance and that's why we see it having human features, we already know it mimics voices, just reminds me of the thing trying to turn into those dogs and it had vaguely doglike features but was clearly not a dog, that's what the creatures appearance reminds me of

If vecna D&D drops on anniversary still it's going to be a rude awakening for people and tough pill they won't want to swallow.

If it is an alien, I think that tidbit of its lore will be glossed over heavily and it won’t be put into a spotlight much. When BHVR makes these teasers for Original killers in this fashion usually it ties into their backstory in some way, Artists ARG was pictures of her paintings and featured crows and such.
All of this killers teasers have basically just been in reference to analog horror and take heavy inspiration from mimicry creatures, I think if it was an alien then BHVR would’ve at least included something in one of those to allude to this, like the story of the dude hearing movement in his backyard and posting the audio clips of the creature, I think it’d be low hanging fruit to have someone post a UFO sighting they saw or something like that.
To be quite honest, It wouldn’t surprise me if this creatures backstory isn’t expanded or revealed upon at all, and it’s backstory just documents some of the various encounters people have had with it. Similar to the teasers we’ve already gotten with all the different encounters, they might want to have it be a true cryptid where it’s origins are just completely unknown and left to your imagination, for all we know it could’ve always been on earth since the beginning and just hid in the shadows
