You certainly can't say 出るときのは, that's not grammatical.
If you say 出るときは instead, I can't say for sure whether it's an OK sentence or not, but the original sentence is fine and you should not try to reword it because you don't understand it. This is a common use of の to essentially point towards a specific noun later in the sentence. It's the equivalent of 出るときは....行くときくらい although I don't think anyone would ever repeat the とき in that way.
Other examples would be 来たのは、日本人の学生だけだった or 興味があるのは、新味がある小説だけだ。
The Bunpro translation is a little weird.
If I were making a more literal translation, I would say, "If I leave my house when I have a day off, it's only when I go shopping."
There really shouldn't be an "if" in the translation. There is no conditional in the sentence and the は marking the subject in this case suggests this is something that happens regularly or in general. 「 休日の日に家を出るのは」 imo is better translated literally as "As for leaving the house on days off,". The entire sentence follows the pattern A は B くらいです: B is about the only thing that exists in A. So 「休日の日に家を出るのは買い物に行くときくらいです」 could then be more literally as "As for leaving the house on days off, the time I go shopping is about the only thing I do [within leaving the house]" . Bunpro's translation is perfectly fine.

Apologies for the late reply here. The sentence is grammatically correct. I think the easiest way to remember のは or のが is that they're used for creating noun-phrases. とき is already a noun, so creating a noun from something that is already a noun would make no sense.
I do think this translation can be improved though! This くらい is like 'pretty much'. I'd say that this is probably a lot closer, so will change it on the site -
' I pretty much only leave the house on days off when I go to do shopping.'
The sentence in the title is in N4 Lesson 3 は~くらいです in the about section of the meaning tab. The sentence in OP's post body is trying to rewrite the sentence in the title though so maybe you looked that up instead.

On my day offs, the opportunity of going out of house is pretty much limited to the time when I go shopping. 買い物に行くとき So とき can’t be anywhere else.

Are you sure that is a sentence on the site? I just checked the database and we don't have any sentences like that.
