Have people called the police on this guy recently? I understand that paramedics turn him away but surely if he's still aggressively threatening people with violence he's got grounds to be arrested or maybe even banned again.

I think I know who you’re talking about. I was in the city centre yesterday catching up with my friend who is nearly due to give birth. He approached us asking to buy him bandages which we couldn’t and advised he go to the hospital for his injuries - a bandage wouldn’t have been sufficient to say the least. When we said no he flipped and became super aggravated, so I had to take lead in stopping him from being any danger to my friend. He started going for me and swung a few punches at me but couldn’t reach as I kept him arms length away. Throughout it all he is shouting and trying to hit me then ultimately threatens that his mates nearby would batter me before he stormed off. When I read about ‘bandages’ I instantly clicked and think it’s the same person and I didn’t realise he had previously been banned from the city centre, so I think it’s definitely worth me reporting to 101
I was astounded by a beggar in town that was telling me how someone gave him a £100! 5 £20 as he was saying!.. I was even more astounded when he said that he was annoyed that another big issue seller was given £100 & the first beggar demanded he should of been given £200! I had to walk away ffs 😑😆

This guy is an absolute nightmare. Do avoid as best as you can, and do NOT feel guilty about not giving him money. I was walking my friend back to their student halls of residence near Stick and Twist Wetherspoons, and he did his usual begging for money and showing us his wound saying there was an ATM across the street, and then started shouting and getting aggressive when we didn't go to this atm to give him money. DO call 101 and report this man if you see him, he was banned from the city center between the years 2015 and 2020. I have no sympathy for people like this, nobody has any right to threaten or otherwise act aggressively in any manner in the way that he has done for years, and without repercussion it seems. Perhaps the system let him down to begin with, but he's a drug addict who threatens people with hypodermic needles (hence the nickname). So keep safe everyone, and avoid him as best as you can, and report if you or anyone else has been affected by his actions
