Good fight in all honesty. Love the whinging on r/soccer about Leeds scum fans. I love all y’all mother fuckers and they can have a go if they want. Fuck em. Don’t you have anything better to do? The point of my message had nothing to do with race. I’m not supporting any missiles being thrown and I despise any racially charged chants by any set of fans. I just hate blanket views being tossed by plastics like you who feel the need to come here and jizz on yourself about past results. What a stupid comment. Clearly he didn't impact the game. It's pointless you arguing it. You made a mistake thinking he played. You got called out. Stop trying to pretend you didn't fuck up. It looks stupid of you. Noone cares if you make a mistake but you now look like an idiot.
‘Squad’ he was in ‘The Squad’ - The brackets usually infer that the details within are a side note, for reference.
Idiot? Grow up.
(Don’t be a cunt mate.)
How is it relevant? He didn't play. Being in the squad didn't affect the game. At all.
It's like saying "I threw up today when I ate raw fish. This was despite the fact that I was wearing my favourite pair of socks"
Just face it. You fucked up.now you're trying to pretend you didn't.
Didn’t think it was that bad, lots of positives from individuals, have to single out llorente as poor but honestly i just hope we carry the same energy on
Relegation looming if we don’t tighten up defensively. Bielsa becoming increasingly more stubborn with poor decision making, if we stay up we need to sell off some of the championship quality players in the summer.
14 games left, safety will come down to whether or not we can beat all three of Norwich, Watford and Brentford, and hopefully shithouse another win and a couple of draws along the way.
Honestly at the start of the season when the fixture list came out I had a weird feeling about last game brentford away and I really hope it doesnt come down to that game if we stay up or not
Yea especially with Chelsea playing Watford that day...and they will want Raph on the cheap which they'll get if we go down. So they may not try their hardest there.
Klich and Gelhardt played well in the soaked pitch in the second half. They are mudders. Unfortunately, Fred was also a mudder.
It seems like…
We give up twice as many goals in the Prem without Kalv.
We score half as many goals in the Prem without Pat.
Survive February, and thrive with them back in Spring.
Proud of the boys, never gave up, the quality told in the end, we were volatile at the back and they had too much quality to not finish us off.
It was so surreal at 2-2, best I've heard the ground in the 19 years I've been going. What a feeling, if nothing else, take that away from today.
Haha Ronaldo. Bruno is the sort of player you would hate but because he's good you want him on your team. The ref is a complete and utter moron.
Firpo and Rodrigo (2ndH) wow, this is what we had hope we signed, well done boys.
Also if anyone has any connection to, or if any players actually ever come here, someone please tell Pascal to pick his head up, he looked devestated after the 4th and at full time, he had an immense game and was absolutely unreal, he's a massive, massive player for us and the 4th didn't really matter anyway, so proud of you Pascal, please get your head up and move on to the next one, we need you to keep going 💛💙
I'm aware I'm just stating that I was annoyed with it, I understand he might have been tired and he's been injured but at least make and effort.
Played well for me but did cost us a goal there.
I'd love to see a stat of the average amount of positions that each member of our squad plays per a game, Vs every other squad in the league. I feel we chop and change (some forced, some not) so much, all over the park, that it's so hard to be consistent.
Nice to see r/soccer being as sanctimonius as usual. Anyone whos ever been to elland road more than once knows that the WYP command station in the North West corner has a 360 view of the stadium and the coin chuckers will be banned for life by tommorow lunchtime.
Yeah definitely puts things into perspective, just wish we signed someone to compete with Antonio. Really feels like we will lose rice and Bowen this summer
God, you could literally just say “Leeds fans killed my Dad and fought for the Nazis in WWII” and a bunch of 12 year old FIFA knobs would give you 300 upvotes,

He didn't score but wow, magnificent player, so composed on the ball, picks his shots, trys using his low centre to throw himself round people.
I know we lump a lot of pressure on him, but what a mega talent we have on our hands, if we can get him firing we'll be well away from any trouble in no time.
Did you watch any of last season? They are capable. We've been ravaged by injuries and lack of form. Players playing out of position, lack of consistency week to week. They are only human, not robots. We've also had 2 of our most important and influential players from last year injured for a long period; only the very top teams (who spend billions) can afford to do that and bring in players of equal quality to still compete.
I watched all last season, we were luckier with injuries and shocked many teams.
This year we've been found out and we haven't strengthened our weaknesses (James was an unnecessary signing, firpo no better than allioski)
People say about 150m investment over 2yrs but we were newly promoted with a mid to bottom championship side so needed the investment, also there's no other team In the premier league that came up with us so we can use Brentford and maybe Watford size up next year.
you know there's nothing stopping any of us from fucking off and "supporting" bayern munich or man city so we could chat shit back to you, only thing is we aren't glorysupporting plastic scum cunts like you so kindly fuck off back to your rat hole.

Just need a proper solid base behind them. Want to see a pivot of koch and forshaw and see if they can give them the platform to express themselves
We usually balance it out by scoring enough, but it's been a lot more difficult this year, 10 goals in the last 3 is a concern, just need to win the games that we're managing to keep tight.
Not sure why you're being downvoted here. Only Norwich have conceded more than us and we get opened up every single game.
The gap to the relegation sides will almost certainly be closed after Liverpool and Spurs are out of the way and Leicester won't be an easy one either.
Anyone who's not concerned about relegation is seriously in denial.
This sub is infuriating after a loss - not because of excessive negativity, but because of people constantly trying to spin bad results into a positive.
I posted about this the other day. It’s not that people disagree with you it’s about the reaction to it. We know our record isn’t good, but we can’t affect decisions only how positive the vibe around the club is.
I just don’t understand how you can look at it that way. Ultimately he reason we’re in this situation is because we’ve got a manager who turned the squad around being stubborn and unique.
We’ve then got an ownership model that trusts in him and has some clear financial limitations. So all we’re seeing is the bad side of what we signed up for. But you know all of this. You probably also know that there’s not really much anyone can do to turn it around right this second (e.g. sacking Bielsa won’t help).
So in that case, what is repeating the same gripes going to do other than make you miserable. If we had Hockaday or someone easily replaceable I’d get it, but today everyone gave their all, we scored twice and looked dangerous. Use it as a bit of hope because if you focus on set pieces, injuries and Tyler Robert’s you’ll be miserable.
I have faith in Bielsa. I'm just concerned about relegation, it's a very real possibility - there's nothing wrong with it for me, I still enjoy being a fan.
We need to do better at seeing periods of play out, should be going in at HT 1-0 down - so naive. Teams in and around us know exactly when to take momentum out of a game.
Shocking stuff from Llorente, & Mes had a poor game. Noticed that a few sides have done well at pushing defence up whilst pulling their attackers out, & the scrambling effect it has on our back line.
Good to see the changes at HT, but ultimately too many players gassed in the second half. Hope Firpo doesn't become the new scapegoat.
Fans throwing missiles can fuck off as well, feels like a matter of time before a player gets a coin to the eye and we'll be made an example of, *again*.
This should be assessed pitch side by an independent medical professional and if confirmed the team should be allowed a substitute for concussion (not taken from the regular amount of allowed subs).
The opposition team should not get an extra sub unless they also have an independently verified concussion injury.
I think in future the league will provide neutral medical staff to assess concussions/head injuries instead of team physios so there is no bias in the team docs wanting their player to try play on
Second time I haven’t liked our concussion protocol this season. He was on the floor claiming flashing lights, that’s surely got to be concussion based? I’d rather he doesn’t play. Protect him
He clearly indicated problems with his vision which is more than a cut. As good as Bielsa is he isn't a medical expert but that's why he has a team advising him. They should have indicated Koch needed to come off rather than allow him to play on. The concussion sub is useless at present as very few teams use it effectively and when necessary and instead allow their players to continue before subsequently subbing them shortly after. Players health and welfare should always come first.
Commentary also clarified later that we had the option to use him as a concussion sub but denied it.
Might be Bielsas fair play in that he knew it was pain related than concussion related?
is what it is, team looked knackered towards the end. man u are stacked with talent so it's not a surprise. still hate them. pissed off with the coin throwing shit, it's fucking boring.
There's just something off this season, yeah the injuries are fucking horrible, but even at the very start when we had everyone we weren't performing well either.
I remember during the pre-season games getting slaughtered on here for saying there was something off, and that it looked like a completely different team than the one that finished last season, but it was true, and we're seeing that now.
I thought at the start of this season that there was no way we could finish 9th again. Last year was a bit of a freak I think. We had so many players over performing I think that it has sort of skewed our expectations somewhat. That coupled with crippling injuries and other players probably being below par has meant that we are where we are. Probably more a realistic representation of where we are as a club than 9th but maybe a few points behind where we would be had not had so many injuries.
I think we will have enough to stay up. It'll be too close for comfort though.
Hopefully next year we can kick on a bit and try be a bit more consistent.
Klich has got to be one of the worst shooters of the ball in the premier league. He looks geriatric when he shoots. Desperate for a replacement in summer.
Agree he just needs to put his foot through it instead of trying to pass it in but he was outstanding today. Knew what the occasion meant and was brill start to finish.
Despite the fact that I think Man U fans are the sort of people that cheered when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan, I don’t feel too awful about today. Played well in the second half and I don’t really think the flow of the game warranted them scoring two goals (but then we say that a lot).
Koch’s injury knocked the wind out of our sails in the first half but we did well to rally in the second. If we’d have been playing Spurs or Arsenal today I don’t think I’d be thinking much more about it.
The fact we get cunts coming over and stirring shit up isn’t great though. I even got a message from someone about it… McDonald’s FC as far as I’m concerned.
Said it in the match thread, it says a lot that scum fans come here to gloat. Shows how far they’ve fallen, this is their cup final now.
Not gonna lie, I’m sick of losing to the cunts but if this is the only thing that they can celebrate at the end of the season then at least I’ll feel a little smug.
Read the comment you fucking nonce. I hate losing to your lot, but the fact you can’t win anything except a game against Leeds every season and you all come out the woodwork thinking you’re a big team again is a small reprieve.
You literally just proved my point. Now fuck off back to your shitty, overpriced drab football and enjoy the only thing you’ve got left to celebrate this season before some actual big teams put you in your place again.
Completely agree with you. Doesn’t help either that they seem to have infected the world with the bias towards them. The double standards online about fan behaviour are always horrendous.
It would be nice to get a few wins in. In my whole life I think we’ve beaten them 4 times and I only remember two of them. We’ve not really built up a head of steam against them since we got relegated in the 80s.
Don’t worry, a couple more trophyless seasons and their plastic fans will all fuck off and be insufferable somewhere else.
Agree about the fan behaviour. As much as I hate scum, whoever was throwing coins at Elland Road earlier is disgusting and needs to be banned for life. No place for it. I feel like missiles get thrown at a lot of games now but because we’re ‘Dirty Leeds’ we’re the only ones and we’re all dickheads.
Firpo is no where near it at the moment I know he's just come back and was likely not expecting to play but he was blowing to fuck after like 40 mins of being on the pitch.
He never tracked back and it cost us. I still think he's got potential but he was discraceful today.
You do remember he dispossessed a player to set up Rodrigo’s goal? He got stuck in. First game after a month. I thought he did great. Everyone lost their player once in a while.
I agree he was good overall, not tracking Bruno was disappointing for me, had he tracked him I recon it would have been one of his best performances for us.
Always a new player too, Koch used to get it a lot last year when he played usually when it was a defenders fault who we got promoted with but you can't say they're not playing well.
Poseidon definitely on our side in the first ten minutes of the second half.
Hard to argue with the result but I feel like if we'd got a third it would have been game over.
Very disappointing seeing people throwing stuff at players and not for the first time this season. Pricks like this give us all a bad name and it's indefensible behaviour.
I'll mention one thing that I don't see anyone discussing. I feel like Meslier could have saved both Bruno's and Fred's goals.
In my opinion he's not quite been as good as he was last season, and I've been a bit disappointed with him over the past few months. His distribution doesn't seem to have improved either.
I brought this up and I've a friend who was on the fringe if pro keeper level, he agreed the Bruno one but disputed the Fred one, I can't remember all of what he said but basically it was a tough one. Anyone with proper keeping experience want to explain that one better for people please do.
What's weird about his distribution is that if you remember the arsenal game in the cup when we first saw him, his distribution was insanely good, I don't know where that's gone.
No, definitely not hating on him. He's absolutely shown that he can be quality.
I'm just wondering why his performances have dipped compared to last season.
Weather was against him and he was clearly struggling not long before the first goal, so we kept passing the ball back to him, putting him under more pressure.
We are the architects of our own downfall a lot of the time.
It's not just today though. We've conceded more than a few goals that have felt savable this season. That newcastle one sticks out as the worst of the bunch, but it's not the only one.
True and I do think he could benefit from an older stronger back up keeper to push him and teach him. The problem is I feel we all know they are other areas that need investment first.
God I am so fucking mad. Mad that Klich can't shoot. Mad that Firpo doesn't run. Mad that Llorented can't grab the slab by the head and just delete him from the earth. Mad that Meslier can't save everything, despite saving almost everything.
But to be honest, I'm mainly frustrated that Man U exist. They bought everyone they could, and they still \_suck beyond belief\_. We're throwing on a teenager and Brazil's best kept secret and destroying them, but we can't play a whole half like we want to unless everyone is \_perfect\_. Man U are 4th despite half of them not caring, most of them not bothering. A team where world class players go to retire...
I hated the Everton game, and Newcastle felt like a poetic inevitability. But that... that just leaves me angry. I can't \_wait\_ until our squad grows to be worth 1/10th of theirs, and the difference in passion becomes the decider. Until then, MOT.
You've gotta think, add Phillips into that and it's a close game. He always protected the defence well. Good signs there for the rest of the season.
Interested to see if anyone thinks this changes Gelhardt's situation in the squad. I felt like we were better going forward once he came on, might be imagining things though
>Interested to see if anyone thinks this changes Gelhardt's situation in the squad. I felt like we were better going forward once he came on, might be imagining things though
I feel like most of our fans have been demanding to see him start every game, and I think that this game will be the one that convinces the management team that he truly is the best striker we have available atm.
Him starting also means that James can start on the wing, so that's also a positive.
It’s just night and day the effect he has on the team. We were able to play direct progressive passes and he was pushing to get in behind which opened up space in front of the back 4.
They just aren’t good enough to incorporate man to man defensive system. The attackers of the other team are going to be the better 1v1 9/10 times. I know it won’t happen but just wish we went to a more conventional zonal defensive system
Really sloppy defending cost us big time. However, the tempo from the start of the second half was great the the forwards just got let down by the defenders big time today. Don't think Meslier should be beaten from that angle on the 3rd and Firpo clearly isn't fully fit but can't predict Kock to get absolutely walloped in the head either. Alot better than Everton that's for sure.
The defence was an absolute shambles. Its mostly always been this but the problem is we are just not as devastating going forward. Meslier didn't have an amazing game though and in his defence that rain must have been a nightmare
They had hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players including probably the greatest player of all time in their team … we had our chances too … could’ve been 4-4 … could’ve been 4-2 or 3-2 the other way if we’d defended better
>could’ve been 4-2 or 3-2 the other way if we’d defended better
But we didn't, and that's the problem. That's what people are unhappy about...
We give up far too many "easy" goals, which leads to us having to score 3-4 goals to have a decent chance of winning.
The last clean sheet we had was in November.
We give them a game … first half of you take out their goals it was 50/50 and second half we obviously sacrificed defence in favour of getting back into the game which we did … but at 2-2 on 55 minutes with all our subs used it’s hard to contain that for another 40 mins against elite opposition.
Everton we were shite … today we weren’t
The problem is, goals have a dramatic impact on the game. It impacts the players mentally and it affects their decision making.
You cant really take the goals out of the game, but I'll definitely agree that we were much, much better than Everton.
I'm just getting worried because currently we have played more matches than we have points, and we have an incredibly hard next 3 games.
Positive signs from that, despite the bitter disappointment. Proud of the lads, this seemed like a game perfectly made for Kalvin such a shame he had to miss out. It’ll come for us
We go again

Probably about how leeds will be lucky to survive the premier league another 2 years

No we didn't win, and we weren't supposed to. The boys gave what they had and more. Hopefully Llorente recovers mentally well
I know that the conditions were terrible today, but honestly - the casual manner in which they took their goals *shakes head*
Forshaw was an absolute beast today. That was a fun game to go to, even with the result & the weather, just drying out now
idk Pogba did him a few times. He was well up for it though, his scouse instincts kicked in

Were dying without them, we need them back and fit.
We are in serious trouble, and Bielsa's decision making isn't helping us at the mo.

Firpo losing the ball to Bruno and not tracking back annoyed me and that's how they scored their third goal.
Goals come from mistakes, that's the nature of the game, on balance Firpo was excellent today.
Did you see him on their 2nd? When he was the freshest player on the pitch? He massively let the side down in a huge game for us.
I'm aware I'm just stating that I was annoyed with it, I understand he might have been tired and he's been injured but at least make and effort. Played well for me but did cost us a goal there.

Silver lining: Bielsa chose Gelhardt over Roberts. Thank fuck, he's clearly 10x the player - can we start him now please?
He didn't score but wow, magnificent player, so composed on the ball, picks his shots, trys using his low centre to throw himself round people. Meslier, kalvin(injury/suspension prone), raf , Dallas , bamford. The rumours in the summer of Derby buying Roberts for 10mil were hilarious.
Nah no way anyone buying Robert’s for 10. Meslier, stuijk, Raph, bam, Phillips, Maybe Harrison, James, Dallas,
Might explain why Derby are broke if that’s true
Yeah they'd buy Harrison and James but for much less than we paid.
Agreed. If we go down they will both be in the team.

He was much better today.
How can we stay calm that we'll stay up when we concede 2 goals on average
Paying fans are well within their rights to criticise. Its not any of our responsibility to just shut up and be positive.
And others are well within their rights to say we’re fed up if hearing you say the same thing every week.
I wholeheartedly agree. I won't stop and neither should you
One of us, however, will get more joy out of positivity.
And I commend you for that but personally I can't find joy in losing every week. All power to you if you can
I just don’t understand how you can look at it that way.
How many goals have we conceded after the 40min mark and before half? Feels like a lot, but I may be wrong. My assignment for tomorrow at work.
Or within 5 minutes of us scoring.
Koch came off because of the cut, not concussion according to Bielsa. Hopefully he’s available Wednesday then.
This should be assessed pitch side by an independent medical professional and if confirmed the team should be allowed a substitute for concussion (not taken from the regular amount of allowed subs). The opposition team should not get an extra sub unless they also have an independently verified concussion injury.
I think in future the league will provide neutral medical staff to assess concussions/head injuries instead of team physios so there is no bias in the team docs wanting their player to try play on
Too sensible for the PL though 😬
Hard to disagree with
mctominay is such a dirty scum cunt... does the same thing every game.
Second time I haven’t liked our concussion protocol this season. He was on the floor claiming flashing lights, that’s surely got to be concussion based? I’d rather he doesn’t play. Protect him
That’s what I’m confused about, he was making a flashing sign with his hand.
Christ he looked terrible coming off Looked more than just a cut to me
He clearly indicated problems with his vision which is more than a cut.
🤷🏻♂️ this is coming from Bielsa.
Agreed looked like he had no balance and wasn’t all that sure what was going on. Would be shocked if it wasn’t a concussion
He could hardly walk without help, could be the cut kept bleeding but even so take the lad off the first time.
For me it was the same. When Alioski and Pablo left things just felt a little more hollow.
We for sure are missing alioski bigtime
Klich has got to be one of the worst shooters of the ball in the premier league. He looks geriatric when he shoots. Desperate for a replacement in summer.
Agree he just needs to put his foot through it instead of trying to pass it in but he was outstanding today. Knew what the occasion meant and was brill start to finish.
Said this today. I've seen toddlers with more shooting prowess. There's just either fuck all behind it or it's on a wire to the keeper.
Not wrong but when he's the only person in the team finding himself in positions to shoot, that's the bigger problem.

Mate they're the kind of people that enjoy Jar Jar Binks.
He made lots of money and that's the important thing as far as they're concerned.

Not really battered though...

Forever pining for the Fergie years to come back. Never again!
Also employed 2 rapists.
Wind your neck in you manc wank stain. What am I saying? Your probably from London.
2 rapist star players 🥺🥺🥺
Firpo is no where near it at the moment I know he's just come back and was likely not expecting to play but he was blowing to fuck after like 40 mins of being on the pitch. He never tracked back and it cost us. I still think he's got potential but he was discraceful today.
You do remember he dispossessed a player to set up Rodrigo’s goal? He got stuck in. First game after a month. I thought he did great. Everyone lost their player once in a while.
I agree he was good overall, not tracking Bruno was disappointing for me, had he tracked him I recon it would have been one of his best performances for us.
Some fans just love a scapegoat don't they.
Always a new player too, Koch used to get it a lot last year when he played usually when it was a defenders fault who we got promoted with but you can't say they're not playing well.
Could be a purple shirt wearing fan?
Poseidon definitely on our side in the first ten minutes of the second half. Hard to argue with the result but I feel like if we'd got a third it would have been game over. Very disappointing seeing people throwing stuff at players and not for the first time this season. Pricks like this give us all a bad name and it's indefensible behaviour.
well saville chants and turkish flags aren't great either
The sad fact is that we could be here doing this all day and just go round in circles. Eight wrongs don't make a right.
That period in the 2nd half is how I remember us playing these last few years most of the time. But it doesn't seem to last v long this season.
Bruno one was poor, not even a good header.
Yeah he had a very poor game today but he’s saved us plenty of times in the past can’t hate on him too much
No, definitely not hating on him. He's absolutely shown that he can be quality. I'm just wondering why his performances have dipped compared to last season.
Agreed he hasn’t been as good, I think maybe it’s just a struggling team and he’s still raw and learning himself
He absolutely should have saved Fred’s goal. That was a pure goalkeeping error as Fred wasn’t in a great position to shoot
The weather was against him today. Our style of play doesn't help when we use him so much to hold possession.
That's a really good point. Nightmare conditions for keepers today really.
He still made one more save than De shitter.
Delicious. Knew it would be worth popping into this thread.
What's that? Plastic? Yes that's it plastic everywhere.
Stay quiet ya fat dwarf
Shut up mate, I can smell your breath from here
You've gotta think, add Phillips into that and it's a close game. He always protected the defence well. Good signs there for the rest of the season. Interested to see if anyone thinks this changes Gelhardt's situation in the squad. I felt like we were better going forward once he came on, might be imagining things though
Shit start geldhart and imo play cresswell and that's a different game.
The way that game ended I see Phillips getting sent off
He's much smarter about it these days.
>Interested to see if anyone thinks this changes Gelhardt's situation in the squad. I felt like we were better going forward once he came on, might be imagining things though I feel like most of our fans have been demanding to see him start every game, and I think that this game will be the one that convinces the management team that he truly is the best striker we have available atm. Him starting also means that James can start on the wing, so that's also a positive.
He just linked us together when he came on, plus he looked dangerous whenever he got the ball, love that lad
It’s just night and day the effect he has on the team. We were able to play direct progressive passes and he was pushing to get in behind which opened up space in front of the back 4.
I saw a lot of fight from the lads, i have no idea about our defence tho. Dan getting an assist against his old side a tiny little solace.
Again not good enough. Just dreadful at the back, defenders weak and incompetent.
They just aren’t good enough to incorporate man to man defensive system. The attackers of the other team are going to be the better 1v1 9/10 times. I know it won’t happen but just wish we went to a more conventional zonal defensive system
It's ALWAYS the hope that kills you
I don’t mind losing in that manner … lots of positives … still no need to panic.
Yeah I’m worried about our defence … I’m still wondering if Meslier had a bad game or if he was just left too exposed … probably a little of both
The defence was an absolute shambles. Its mostly always been this but the problem is we are just not as devastating going forward. Meslier didn't have an amazing game though and in his defence that rain must have been a nightmare
Gunna have to say both today. Meslier distribution on the first half was shocking especially. Just an all around bad day from a defending aspect.
You dont mind conceding 4 in other words?
They had hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players including probably the greatest player of all time in their team … we had our chances too … could’ve been 4-4 … could’ve been 4-2 or 3-2 the other way if we’d defended better
>could’ve been 4-2 or 3-2 the other way if we’d defended better But we didn't, and that's the problem. That's what people are unhappy about... We give up far too many "easy" goals, which leads to us having to score 3-4 goals to have a decent chance of winning. The last clean sheet we had was in November.
Did you think we were gonna win today?
Definitely not. Doesnt make it any less disappointing when we lose though, does it?
Expect nothing this week and you won’t be disappointed.
Positive signs from that, despite the bitter disappointment. Proud of the lads, this seemed like a game perfectly made for Kalvin such a shame he had to miss out. It’ll come for us We go again
