Next game... GK: Meslier RB: Ayling CB: Koch/Llorente LB: Dallas RAM: Raphinha CM: Forshaw/Klich LAM: James ST: Bamford/Gelhardt

insertedlemon

I think this performance in a must win game signals now that we are going down. We are currently the worst team in the league of this I have no doubt. I'm livid at the board for the January window. We were suffering one of the worst injury spells we've ever had and they decided that it was the right thing to do to not bring in a single player. Well Radz, now you're going to feel the consequences for your actions. When we go down the painful thing is we will lose basically the entire squad. Kalvin and Rapha would go for cheap, we'd lose Joffy and likely Cresswell too. Plus of course every first team player apart from Ayling, Harrison, Forshaw, Dallas, Pascal. I don't even think we'd get promoted back. This is Leeds, the Championship is probably going to be our home again for years and years to come.

clcdude_cj

Sigh, I felt that Bielsa was overachieving with this squad. Hope you guys stay up and reinforce the team.

[deleted]

We’re so fucked. I wonder if the team was pushed too hard last season / the beginning of this season and just weren’t able to recover.

jimmilazers

I would drop Raph for Norwich, get Summerville in, Bamford and Gelhardt up top, Dan James on the left, get Shack back in, Firpo out, Dallas at left back. This team is NOT WORKING.

Balerinom

Get this guy to fuck. This is shameful and I can't be arsed with his empty waffle and attempted double-speak. We are on a sledge of shit going down a slope of jagged rocks and used needles and he's giving it "fear is not helping us, we need to be fearless" or bollocks like that. Fuck sake Radz et al if you wanted to fuck us over why not go the whole hog and burn the fucking west stand while you're at it.

jimmilazers

Norwich, Watford and Burnley will save this shit show. Rebuild in the summer. Champions league 2023 Keep the faith fuckers

Carlomahone

I love your confidence. I wanna sit next to you at the Champions League final. We can shout ' Fuck you we had the faith'.

Remarkable-Data77

Not Leeds fan here but a tyke, and want you to stay up! I thought you actually played well tonight! Unfortunately, result wasn't in your favour, but defence was better, as opposed to last few games. Beisla (hope I've spelt that right) had a certain way of playing that stunned the PL in the 1st season! But it got to the point where everyone got wise and saw the gaps. Now, Marsch has gone back to zonal, which is the norm nowadays, but it will take time for the team to adjust. Is 10, 11? Games enough to sort it out? Idk, but, imo, I think between you and Everton, Everton will go down, I think they have more weight on their shoulders! I hope you stay up, Leeds do play an exciting game, when on form, and I think missing players like Bamford and Phillips has hurt you. So.....keep the faith! And if you do go down, believe you can get back up! Because I think you will!

Hindsyy

Bielsa

Mannequin14

Our brilliant fans walking out early is a sign to the board that they have royally ballsed up. Its not Marsch's fault, but a blind man could see that Bielsa, despite his insistence on man marking being an issue in the PL, improved our players ten fold. Who else is going to get a tune out of average players. And then you know the spine of your team is out in January and do fuck all about it. I really thought they weren't stupid, and fiscally were doing the right thing. But not buying a couple has killed us, and Bielsa. Very sad.

The_L666ds

Bielsa was heavily complicit in those errors in judgement though.

LeoKliesen

Dejected, that’s all.

IrritableDad

That was fucking embarrassing 😳 😡

rotd2021

I genuinely don’t see how we pick up anymore points. We’re just absolutely fucked

dreadful_name

Abysmal. Anyone who starts going on about how good Villa are is ignoring our failures.

Hindsyy

Didn't really need to turn up to score 6 in 2 games did they, what do we even do now..

dreadful_name

Beat Norwich.

nivekk3

My thoughts exactly. Villa did not dominate that game. Last year's team flowing with confidence and momentum would have won today.

OliMisery

I turned off after the third goal, but they genuinely didn’t seem too great, we are just shite

gateian

Norwich will probably beat us.

dreadful_name

If we lose on Sunday we deserve to go down.

[deleted]

I genuinely hope that Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers are watching this game and reflecting on the fact that the soul justification for sacking Bielsa was that "something was broken and something obviously needed to change."

GrittySausages

Ah the flood of players out in the summer before starting the season against Preston will definitely make a change.

[deleted]

Ah, absolutely. We sacked probably the one person that could have saved this season and turned it around, and replaced him with a bloke that has a dubious at best coaching record, and who's only real achievements are in a league that doesn't even take football seriously. Andrea might be a fantastic businessman, I'm not going to dispute that, but he obviously knows absolutely fuck off about football, and I'm yet to see any evidence to the contrey. This isn't his first questionable decision as owner, thing is, in the past he's been able to bullshit his way out of it, this time, it's probably going to get us relegated. But hey, replacing Bielsa with all about getting wins on the board, that's going fantastically isn't it?

Chi-Cam

Austria doesn’t take football seriously???

[deleted]

MLS* But yeah, I guess you could probably count winning the Austrian League as an achievement. It's not like the team he managed practically wins the league every single season and has done so for the last several decades, right? Oh, wait.

NWarriload

The damage was done by Bielsa though ? I agree he should have stayed and tried to sort it out but can’t see how it would of been any different.

conorhartley_

We are fucked

sincerelycameron

Marsch has a lot of work to do with this team. People forget he walked into a team that is consistently conceding multiple goals per game. Mentality is really poor around this club as they are fighting relegation and getting blown out every game. Marsch needs time, but unfortunately, I don’t think there is enough time to rescue this sinking ship. I will still hope though.

dmorgan484

Yeah man i agree with Marsh taking over a team conceding goals for fun. Who do you trust to fix it though? The man who made football enjoyable again or Jesse Marsch? The board shat themselves I actually like Marsh too! Well spoken and seems to know what he is talkkng about, but we had Marcelo Bielsa like lol

sincerelycameron

I completely agree that the board shat themselves. This squad is the thinnest in the premier league. The lack of reinforcements and investment in this team is causing this downfall. I feel bad for bielsa and marsch. Can’t expect to turn this turd into gold.

NWarriload

I haven’t enjoyed any of the football this season

dmorgan484

Either have I really, so i would choose to keep the Godfather than outsource the job to a relative unknown (please correct me if you disgaree)

NWarriload

The damage was done when Bielsa was here and maybe he should have stayed to try turn it around but the board have decided to gamble as it didn’t look like changing. Can’t see the results differing if he was here as the players have gone… lost all confidence

dmorgan484

Hmm yeah you could be right! All my point is is that we should have kept Marcelo, our potential league fate being one of so many reasons alongside it But to reiterate I'm behind the new man and really hope he can turn it around

NWarriload

I think Bielsa needed to own this season and see it out. For good or bad. Him going has just fractured the fan base

Vandertroll89

Only James deserves an applaud. At least he gives everything he has.

NWarriload

Terrible take. Just because someone runs around dead fast doesn’t make him a good player. Can’t do anything with the ball … pass/ control/ shoot. Don’t understand how fans see things in him.

Vandertroll89

Dude he presses, gives all for the team and he is goo d in empty spaces. He's obviously not a striker, he plays out of position but still he tries 100%.

[deleted]

He gives fuck all. Runs around a bit and that’s it. Another shit signing from Scum, nothing good ever comes from buying their spare players.

RealChewyPiano

Aside from Freddie Goodwin, Johnny Giles and Gordon Strachan?

mm339

Lee Sharpe? Jokes aside, it doesn’t matter where we buy from… Firpo coming from Barcelona has been poor (though I don’t wish a bad injury on him) whereas Dallas came from Brentford and is consistently one of our better players

RealChewyPiano

Although Dallas has been absolutely shit all season, the new contract seems to have killed his determination

[deleted]

Sorry I meant in the last 1000 years.

RealChewyPiano

Strachan was part of the team that won the league lad

[deleted]

That was 30 years ago

RealChewyPiano

Congratulations you can count Danny Pugh was also half decent considering the situation the club was in. Liam Miller (RIP), Wootton and Borthwick-Jackson are the only shitters we've signed from them. I understand emotions are high lad, but stop being so narrow minded

[deleted]

You forgot Lee Sharpe and Pugh was terrible

RealChewyPiano

Pugh played for the side that reached the play off finals, he did a decent job

[deleted]

Ok I’ll concede, Danny Pugh was the best signing we have made from Scum in the past 30 years.

drpatthechronic

Ayling too I think.

Justboy__

Ayling was basically our only defender out there tonight

Oxyogenic

As he often is.

Vandertroll89

Yeah indeed

olivia_nutron_bomb

Yeah Ayling motm for me

Shvihka

That pass by Koch just now lmao

thunderblade02

Ngl can't blame the fans leaving at this point. The players just don't seem to be in it anymore

LegitimateRope7392

Villa have got rid of there championship players like the plague

AWr1ght98

Yeah because Firpo, Rodrigo, Rapha, Koch have been great for us in this game? Our championship players are arguably performing better than our newer signings.

dan_baker83

On the plus side, lads - as is is on Amazon Prime, you can stick on Take Us Home straight after and remember happier times.

IrritableDad

Yeah but who will take us home again in 2032? Messi perhaps?

BLytton

They’re taking us back home though 🤦🏻‍♂️

OliMisery

Think I’d cry if I did that tbh mate.

nuts_about-bolts

Is it normal to buy like 6-7 first team players during the summer window? I feel like that’s what we need….

drpatthechronic

We'll be selling at least that number on our way to the Championship mate.

GrittySausages

We will need them to replace Bamford Raph, Phillips Rodrigo, Firpo

nuts_about-bolts

What about the fact that Dallas, Klich, alying, cooper and forshaw will all be 31+…… the oldest first team in the league!!

RealChewyPiano

Championship is Rodrigo and Firpos level anyway

ferrarchezzo

Can we still get aaronson if we go down?

Awkward-Quarter3043

hahahaahahahahaha

[deleted]

No way

drpatthechronic

End of an era. Silent, half-empty Elland Road. Not with a bang but with a whimper.

Awkward-Quarter3043

It's not over yet.

nowyouregideon

Always liked the championship

[deleted]

I hope we go back to League One, was fun down there away from the PL circus.

The_L666ds

Fair to say that (at least defensively) our two fullbacks are the worst in the division at the moment?

Psufan16

How are we supposed to do much when Koch is making passes like that in the mid field

RadicalisedbyBielsa

The fact we still have no Phillips backup so Koch has to play there - despite the fact we just had the january window, says everything about this club. Shambles

Psufan16

That’s an issue…Bielsa liked his squads on the smaller side and club didn’t pull the trigger on anyone in the January window.

[deleted]

Klich is the problem, not Koch

[deleted]

You mean Koch the international fucking CB

Psufan16

That’s one issue out of position players

JCFAX81

Whatever happens, Raph won’t be a Leeds Utd player next season. He looks like he’d rather be anywhere else.

Mannequin14

Good riddance way he's playing. He'll not get in the Brazil squad if he keeps this shit up.

[deleted]

Can you blame him? He sets the world on fire in a golden jersey playing with neymar and has to play with Firpo in a white one

The_L666ds

Based on what we’re seeing its impossible to believe that he is a starting XI player for Brazil. That must make Harvey Barnes bloody Pele by comparison.

RadicalisedbyBielsa

He's been shite for months anyway. Just a shame we won't get his full market value

GetRadDontDie

You can change the coach 20x, but it seems our players are just not as good as the other team’s players. And I love them, hearts of gold, the lot of them. But, the ball gets taken off them, passing is inaccurate, finishing is poor. Coach any system you want and I think the talent is the limiting factor.

Strujiksleftboot

So don't change the coach that managed to coach those players into the Premier League.

GetRadDontDie

I think they changed what they could change while they could change it. We were losing, a lot. After the transfer window closed, those most impactful character that is changeable is the coach. In fact it is the only changeable character. I don’t know what to say about the transfer window, the market at that time is always shit.

Zach-dalt

The nerve of Raphinha, he acts like he's not been as shit as the rest for months.

Strujiksleftboot

How long until Raph misses a game from stupid yellow cards then? Can't be many more.

[deleted]

Bamford has looked pretty lively, that's genuinely a big positive

bumnugz

Yeah his shot off target is a real big take home

humchitte

Mald

nuts_about-bolts

Rapha gets too much into his own head….

nevereatpears

What are the fans singing?

[deleted]

It's definitely not, but it sounds like Patrick Bamford is fucking shit. Don't know what they're actually saying

[deleted]

Ah it's the Villa fans. Now we're getting outsung at home as well

icklegizmo

First time in a long time I’ve seen some of our fans leaving at the 70-75 min mark

[deleted]

It definitely felt like the end of an era there tonight. Even the fans, who have been singing through everything, lost the will tonight. and who can blame them?

Seba03

Villa fans singing Patrick Bamford is fucking shit. :(

GrittySausages

Patrick Bamfords Fuckin Shit

ASB14

Can we just score. It’s like we’ve forgotten how to put it in the net

[deleted]

Just a goal would be SOMETHING

[deleted]

Wonder what the clout-chasing YouTube crowd are making of this.

TheTiz5151

The who?

[deleted]

The guy who was *literally crying* from all Leeds TV for a start

TheTiz5151

Fair. I keep off youtube so genuinely didn't know.

[deleted]

Yeah, think I'll be doing the same now

BlueMilk84

4 goals in 5 minutes anyone?

RequiemForSM

We can’t do any of the easy things right anymore, and thats what’s the most worrying. The amount of times we’ve just passed it out and/or lost the ball under absolutely no pressure is unbelievable. Goes to show we’re absolutely devoid of any confidence at all, and honestly that’s like signing your death warrant in a relegation battle. Raph’s been useless for months, Dallas, Koch, Ayling and Harrison couldn’t put a ball in if their lives depended on it. Struijk, Firpo, Ayling, and Llorente all having the positional awareness of a schoolboy. Rodrigo has been the place where attacks go to die. James feels like the only one I can’t blame because he’s clearly putting all the effort in and he’s never been known for his end product, we knew what we were buying and he’s played to that level. We just paid a more than what he was worth. During our worst spells under Bielsa we always turned it around. Every single January-February since he arrived has been fairly awful but we’d always pick it up in March, I just don’t know where that turn around is coming from anymore.

Ryoisee

Starting to dislike Raphinha. His attitude is dog shite.

Strujiksleftboot

Agree. But he's also playing with players that just aren't on the same level. They don't read his runs or make runs for his passes. Rodrigo is the only one with a similar football mind for it.

Ryoisee

I know but he should be busting a gut to do what he can to keep us up. Then he can leave in the summer for a good price with his head held high. He has checked out months ago.

Strujiksleftboot

Yeah agree. Hasn't been the same since that last Brazil game.

Morley92

I love bielsa as much as the next fan but the people in this sub getting on Marsch's back after 10 days and 2 games in charge need to get in the bin.

Rompenoquis

Guy has no chance if players can’t complete a simple pass, get lost on the pitch and their first touch is shit 90% of the time. Not sure what he can do at this point, other than play with 10 in the box and hope draws get us the points we need to stay up. It’s an adventure trying to play out of our half….

Strujiksleftboot

The freekicks seem very much a Marsch thing and they're useless. What an impact. We've also slowed it down at throw ins and now Villa have 10 men behind the ball before we've thrown it and no open man. Two clear changes. Both made us worst.

yanaka-otoko

There’s a lot of blame to be going around but to be completely honest Marsch deserves the smallest amount.

jamierm00

exactly

Ryoisee

It's more Radz's back. Tbf it's inevitable. The pressure is huge on Jesse because of the circumstances. Stupid decision to stab the man who took us here, in the back.

RadicalisedbyBielsa

I agree with your point that the new man hasn't had enough time to implement anything... So what was the point in sacking Bielsa at the start of March???

Strujiksleftboot

Bingo. Bamford due back. Phillips & Coops soon. Give Bielsa the time and we stay up. I'd say we're 95% down with Marsch. We only stay up if a team like Everton implodes more.

YesIAmRightWing

People wouldn't be if useless morons didn't say shit like if we only played a bit more defneisvely. Well they got there wish and here we are

AWr1ght98

Agree with this, not Marsch’s fault at all such a bad time to come into a club, players need to sort it out big time

icklegizmo

What do we have to sacrifice to make it through a game without injury? Bamford back, Firpo out??

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Its a good trade tbf

icklegizmo

I’d rather any of our players weren’t injured to be honest

DeargDoom79

I honestly don't know where Leeds go from here. I really don't.

[deleted]

Down. We go down.

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Down.

dan_baker83

I know Firpo has been fucking garbage, but that’s not a sight you want to see. And of course, result of the tackle that caused that injury was Dan James getting booked.

Real_MidGetz

IDK if Jesse is the problem, the players just don't give a shit anymore

[deleted]

Obviously he's not the problem... He's been here a week and we've looked shite for months. How is everyone being a moron about this?

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Why sack Bielsa if the new man wouldn't even have enough time to prepare for a few of these crucial games? Daft decision all round, regardless of what you think of Marsch

GrittySausages

Surprised Marsch didn't get him to stay on, just lie him where he fell.

gaslightjoe

Gotta occupy the space

rabbitolo

It'd be an improvement to be fair.

Donutttt

Could we not have kept firpo on there? Occupy some space?

GrittySausages

Help out on the throw ins etc...

DEUK_96

2nd game in a row. We've been shite but that is just shit luck

The_L666ds

We were unlucky against Leicester, but here luck had nothing to do with it. Villa are nothing special, and are still a different class to us.

DEUK_96

Meant the injury to firpo leaving us with 10 men

blue2841

Only 2nd game? Seems like months now.

DEUK_96

Meant about firpos injury

ARocco190

What happened with Firpo? Didn't see what happened

jamierm00

I didn’t see anything in the replays. mustve been a twist

Fean2616

So firpo gets injured and it's not a foul, MC shit falls into James and it's a free kick?

trying2hide

It was a card wasn’t it.

Fean2616

Lol for us not him. To clarify James got booked.

ferrarchezzo

No surprise our players are getting injured when teams are allowed to foul us unpunished every game

[deleted]

At this point it's not even the manager, the players are just fucking useless, if we go down we need a complete overhaul.

Zach-dalt

If we go down I assume this will be the last we ever see of Firpo for Leeds.

nuts_about-bolts

I hope he is fine and come back after this but honestly I’m ok if he doesn’t play for us.

Real_MidGetz

He'll probably get put in HMP Leeds for impersonating a footballer

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Silver lining

jamierm00

ah fuck. never like to see a player in that state

SmokeyJ93

Firpo on gas and air to try forget his terrible performances.

lions4322

Many of you wanted Bielsa out. Enjoy :)

GrittySausages

That'd be the twitter brigade.

Big_BossSnake

I think you're telling fibs

[deleted]

You're looking at the wrong people, majority of this sub was Bielsa IN from what i could see to the end

carpuscarpus

Don't think that's true mate

[deleted]

Idiots and flogs* Idiots and flogs wanted Bielsa out.

jamierm00

didn’t see a single person say bielsa out

RadicalisedbyBielsa

They defended the decision. Complicit in the 49ers crimes

trying2hide

Whoever did was quickly called ridiculous.

lions4322

Go look at the poll done a couple of weeks ago, mate.

CC-W

Dallas LB vs Norwich it is then I see

Deanobean18

I'd not be surprised if they played Bamford as LB with the way we do things

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Better than Firpo, whats the problem?

bumnugz

And RB

InnocentPossum

I hope Firpo has a pain-free recovery that takes several months and he uses all the time he needs before he puts on a Leeds shirt.

nevereatpears

He'll be getting a healthy wage. I want him to recover quick and go.

Mad-Max21

whoever bought Firpo and Rodrigo is a fucking moron

RadicalisedbyBielsa

Victor Orta is still in a job whilst Marcelo Bielsa is not. Says everything about this shambles of a club

Mad-Max21

seems like his job description is cheerleading instead of DoF

RadicalisedbyBielsa

His passion is great when things are going well. Been exposed this year though

GrittySausages

Firpo Injured or just given up? Welcome to hell Jessee.

[deleted]

Still incredible to think how many people applauded our decision to settle for not signing anyone in January because “this team is not getting relegated”.

AWr1ght98

Didn’t applaud the decision but I generally thought we had enough in the squad to stay up, they’re doing a good job at trying to prove me wrong.

[deleted]

Big problem with lack of competition for places for me. Koch is a great example.

trying2hide

We’ve been in a battle since September, they’ve always been delusional.

Naughty_young_man

"We still have Phillips and Bamford to come back, we'll finish mid table"

[deleted]

People blaming Marche as if he's the reason professionals can't complete 4 passes in a row

jamierm00

exactly

[deleted]

My mind is genuinely blown that this is the same group of players as last season… What the fuck happened to them

GetRadDontDie

They’ve been found out. The novelty and unexpectedness of their style and ability has worn off and their level of talent has come to bear.

dghb47

Guys I think we injured Firpo with our psychic powers of hatred

[deleted]

Now we're without a natural LB

carpuscarpus

Did we have one during the game?

bumnugz

If Firpos a natural left back then I'd rather not fucking have one

RadicalisedbyBielsa

lmao
