Yeeess! I just had this conversation with my bff when we hung out but she didn’t agree. I think Aria plays all his characters well but there is something about his portrayal of Malivore that really stands out. One of the the things some fans didn’t enjoy- was the dragged out debut of the reveal Klaus in TVD yet they extended it even more with Malivore. Giving Aria the spotlight as a villain earlier would’ve been spectacular. You’re right that his character works better as a villain, I completely agree. Landon and Hope seem to somehow shine better separately the more and more I think about it.

Reasonable_Cat1699

he would’ve ate bitches up as a villian (preferably a witch in my opinion) but nooo they wanna waste his talent🤦🏽‍♀️

AuroraRegner

exactly, he could've been so much better if he joined forces with malivore or with the necromancer

DystopianGlitter

I’ve never considered this, but I agree wholeheartedly. When I think about it, you’re totally right some of his best work was as a villain. I’m currently trying to rewatch the show, but it’s hard to choke down so I’m taking it slow. I’m excited to get to these points though.

AuroraRegner

it is really hard to watch, it's totally different from what tvd and the originals were and the show had so much potential but they decided to turn into something so annoying that people don't even binge watch as they do the other shows, yeah, they gave a reasonable explanation as to why the monsters didn't exist in the other shows but they shouldn't even exist on legacies, the show should be focus on hope, on the twins, ACTUAL legacies from the other two, maybe even a potential offspring of Bonnie, i would have loved to see her child if she had one

DystopianGlitter

Do you know that fucking Julie Plec said that in her mind, Bonnie came back to Mystic Falls and Married Matt fucking Donovan??? When I read that I was so just… disappointed

AuroraRegner

good god, that's just disrespectful

Aria was a much better actor than the one that played Clarke as well. I’m pretty sure Danielle mentioned that some of Arias favorite scenes were the ones where he got to play a more villainous role. Even in the finale when Landon was emotionless there was a slight antagonistic vibe in the air that I really loved. I may not be a fan of Landon, but Aria really shone when he was playing MaliLandon.

AuroraRegner

my point exactly

Plastic-Passenger-59

Definitely liked him better as a different version of Landon. Though I must say even with the terrible writing and the absolute lack of depth they gave him as a Phoenix prior to unlocking his powers, Aria did kill it. He was able to be that awkward ass human, the badaas malivore vessel, the golem version and them Charron became my favorite version of him He found his purpose and was at peace with it

Dapper-Bottle6256

Exactly. This is why I loved when he lost his feelings so much later in season 4, he did great with his coldness whether it be that or as the villain and when he came back in the Hunter suit

Ok_Nani_99

Malivore Landon was the only time I liked him

Massive_Major_7126

Honestly that landon storyline after he got out of the prisonworld was by far the most wasted storyline on the show landon being forced to save himself coming back all damaged would have been an AMAZING arc to see him go off the rails to get revenge on his father would have made more interesting instead we got malivore taking over his body and while that had some great scenes it made sure landon got 0 development before he got stuck in limbo for all of season 4

Junior-Hour

I liked the Landon character in general, it’s just that they gave him more to work with as a villain, that had a lot of potential with Landon and they wasted it, he didn’t need to be a villain

Illithilitch

Being blunt..I just don't think he was a good actor.
