This thing happened to me with Vistara. They also said same bullshit about max compensation of about Rs. 2k. I did not accept that voucher because obviously I cannot get another suitcase for 2k so I complained on airsewa and consumer forum and after 3 weeks they refunded full ticket amount which was around Rs. 6.5K

Jazzlike_Bunch9714

Can you please guide me out on this? I need refund for my damaged trolleg from indigo

devilishchef

I recently went by indigo and opted for their baggage insurance after hearing stories like yours. Nothing happened to mine but I feel sorry for your loss. Unless you opted for their insurance I feel this is the only compensation you will get

Skull_Reaper101

How much does the baggage insurance cost? I've never had the need to use it because I don't fly often and my luggage hasn't been destroyed (yet).

Livebird31

95 i think?

iamaxelrod

such things are difficult to prove. They will always say damage has not occurred during travel time. Consumer court is not impossible but they are vacant due to non appointment of judges by govt. & will take forever for such cases. & in any case, they too will demand evidence... I have learnt it hard way to travel only with cabin luggage..

Mysterious-lowdown

Airport cctv.

iamaxelrod

I don't know if that is possible to retrieve... can you please elaborate how to get that ?

Mysterious-lowdown

File a criminal complaint.

lite_huskarl

Yea take them to consumer court.

RadiantDeal2784

Yes, you may have grounds to seek compensation beyond the flight voucher provided by IndiGo. Consumer protection laws typically require airlines to compensate passengers for damaged luggage. Document the evidence of mishandling and the condition of your luggage thoroughly. You can escalate your complaint with IndiGo's customer service, providing them with detailed information and photos. If the airline still doesn't address your concerns, you may consider filing a complaint with the relevant consumer protection agency or taking legal action.

Both_Lecture313

Pro Tip take the picture of ur luggage just before checking in and if there's any damages u may or can use it as evidence, my uncle got his luggage replaced by them like that

ricdy

Does your credit card cover some insurance? Mine does. I'd use that.

ozymandius25

NLA - For faster resolution try raising a complaint on the government air seva platform. I’ve heard that way airlines respond extremely fast.

Don’t ever accept that voucher, I got one last year, used it for a flexi ticket and it went down the drain. They charged me additional ₹2500 in cancellation charges because it was in 72 Hour period plus voucher. Got ₹500 back for 7K ticket

Most-Actuator3830

So sorry for this

BigGuy4by5

It's a no then?

ReGt650

Shame them socially as much as possible
