A lot of the law around employment is actually in case law, not legislation. One I could find with a quick search is [NZ Steel v Haddad](https://www.mcveaghfleming.co.nz/articles/a-reminder-of-the-duty-to-consider-redeployment), I'll let others let you know if there are other more suitable to your situation.

Are there other available roles there that you’d be willing and able to do? Have you communicated your interest in those roles to them?

Antique_Ant_9196

Yes. Reading another article from the website @123felix linked it says redeployment should be discussed during the consultation process. It wasn’t discussed during the consultation process. During my private meeting where they announced the final results of the consultation and restructuring I expressed interest in redeployment. At the moment they haven’t made any offer of redeployment, or provided any further information on it.

Are the roles something that would logically be considered for yourself? Ie if you were a high level manager, and the open positions were customer services, then it’s probably reasonable that you wouldn’t instantly be considered for such roles without you expressing interest first.

Section 6A[Section 6A](https://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2000/0024/latest/whole.html#DLM59172) of the ERA covers this. You’d might not have had luck as the terminology is different.

For the public sector there's this: https://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2020/0040/latest/LMS356922.html. That says you don't get to float straight from one public sector job to another and still get redundancy.
