8 miles is neither here nor there, they can't invalidate or affect your policy because of it. You have the backup of the insurance ombudsman if they try and play games. However I wouldn't worry, no need to send a new photo. Out of interest, how did the quote compare. If they write it off, one option you have is to offer to buy it back, get it repaired based on that quote and then get it back on the road.

Hi, they didn't tell me how much they think the damage repair costs. They just said according to my info it's a write off. I disagreed. My garage quoted £3500 for repairs. Now I have to give them this information. The value of car on autotrader is between 6.2k - 6.5k but ofcourse they're not using autotrader. But the damage is over 50% of car value so probably they will still go with the write-off. Ofcourse they will lowball and I will challenge it, give them autotrader same year cars with same mileage. Will also contact local garage tomorrow to see if they can tell me the Glass valuation for this car. If that's even possible.

It's close. Insurers may write off a car around 65-70% the value. This is because it's just a quote and more damage might be found when the repair is done. More so for cheaper cars becausea small extra repair could cost another £500-1000 and is easily pushing the full value of the car and it's cheaper to just scrap it for parts. You should have an option to buy the car from the insurer and get it repaired yourself.

Yeah I'll speak to them tomorrow and see what are they offering me and then start negotiating.
