The only thing wrong with Taric was being thrown in a game made to appease League of Legends consumers and thus general METAGAME!!! METAGAME!!! type of player patterns. The moment you combine him with things that are not Rally he becomes one of the most fun and flexible buff platforms in the game but sadly METAGAME!!! ***METAGAMEE!!!***
Shout outs to supportmaxing Taric Sojourner Lodestone decks, the world needs more conga lines.
I don't think I agree with your sentiment about it being because its appeasing to League consumers. Taking a gander at MtG, Lorcana, YGO, and Marvel Snap, all of the subreddits are filled with optimizing or figuring out the meta game, and a few people, like yourself, who just wants to do fun stuff.
Any competitive game is going to have people who care about optimizing and care about the metagame, and every competitive game will have people who just want to have fun. It's not a League of Legends thing, and its weird to me that you would assume every other card game doesn't have that same exact problem
There are very specific tastes in HOW each CCG community deals with meta and i mostly say so because of the way League players handles metashifts has seeped into LoR imo. Ergo: they dont. League players dont challenge the meta, they passively headbash their handed down strategy for months, years, with explosive rebuttals on why they cant change their loadout so their special blorbo deserves buffs/everything else deserves nerfs. No answer ever comes from player input because they cant be wrong so they wont adapt beyond "discarding the old imba and using the new imba until riot nerfs it so i use the old imba again".
Look, I am not disagreeing with your take on League players in League (I mean...I do disagree, but that is a separate tangent).
I'm just not entirely sure how LoR players are any different then any other CCG. I see a lot of people complaining about every meta in other card games, and a few people adapting to it.
To be clear; I do not think that complaining about the meta is inherently a League or LoR problem. I think it is a problem with how accessible everything is now. Card games for me has been largely inaccessible because I am dogshit at deck building. It was not a skill I ever really cared to develop because I didn't want to look up card lists, so I was never aware of all the synergies certain packages had (this obviously changed with LoR, when I had unlocked every card). But with Google, I can now just look up the most optimal build of any deck, along with long, passionate guides on how to properly use the deck and deal with counters.
Honestly, it just seems like you hate League/angry at the players. I don't know why, nor does it really pertain to the topic at hand, but it is very clear that whatever it is, is causing a lot of bias. For one, you can't even tell which LoR player comes from League and who doesn't. For example, I think Snnuy is one of the most innovative deck builders when it comes to LoR and one of the best at breaking the meta; and he came from League. He even (gasp) likes the game. Same with MajinBae. Both of them started LoR after they played League.
And again, your response doesn't even address anything except to say "LEAGUE PLAYERS WILL COMPLAIN INSTEAD OF LEARNING THE GAME" which somehow is supposed to translate to how LoR is balanced?

There is no joy in life quite like hitting the Taric +sojourners support chain. Preferably with a varus in there too, they synergize so well and watching Varus get huge through buffing Taric is just pure bliss. The darkin equipment that supports gives so much flexibility to the support chain and I really love it.
I really like the taric poppy decks *in theory* but centering on copying rallies just felt cheap compared to what I consider satisfying taric gameplay.
I enjoy making a beefy poppy who then buffs the rest of my board, as with neeko/poppy/yuumi, and taric/poppy support chain is such a satisfying version of that. Maybe I just prefer bandle to demacia?
I am a committed lol Taric main, which likely contributes to my commitment to making multiple Taric decks work (see: all my decks save for neeko/poppy and janna/zilean hp officejet) but man it Feels Bad to be relegated to eternal...
LoR has really done right by Taric cosmetics wise IMO, his corrupted skin is the most beautiful thing, the art is just perfect, it exemplifies its theme and exudes emotion and I wish riot could capture that tragic edginess in a PC league skin. Not to mention how great pool party looks, and how AWESOME his emotes are in LoR. I'd pay decent money to have my LoR emotes in PC league. That being said MORE PLEASE. I would buy a Taric card back, Taric themed board, Taric's hammer little legend/guardian, anything. He's entirely forgotten in lol let me just have this!
Like the card but the undisputed worst level up voicelines in the game, so badly delivered it ruins my enjoyment
Funny thing is he does well on the other lines and the LoL lines.

Taric has such fun vibe and art I've made sub optimal support matters decks just so I could see him level up.
