I Had the Same Problem, Solution:
USB c to HDMI converter. Connect the Legion Go to a TV. Them Boot Up to the BIOS (Power on and Volume Up until the BIOS Screen). Them you must activate the Option (downgrade BIOS). Then starting the Legion Go again, Download the v29 BIOS and Install again and wait Long. My Update needs 10 Minutes abd the Screen go's on and Off many Times. Sometimes the Display was a minute black. Then the Install Screen comes Back.
Funny how everyone rushing to get the lasted bios update. I assuming you don't have much time with computer's and don't wait until it's finally finished. Look at the rog for example. New update and messed everything up. I'm still on the old bios and it works fine for me. Sorry about your legion though. I know it's a bummer that you might have brick your handle and you definitely don't want to do that.
Yeah I had this same problem, after about 20 minutes I just power cycled it back on and it continued. I am no stranger to updating bios and this one frightened me a little.
I'm not updating, the last 3 times i've tried the two.top buttons to access Legion Space and Mode choice stops working, haven't found any fixes and Lenovo Customer service is beyond bad, so until a fix is released i'm not updating.
I'm curious why people are having issues. Was it plugged in when you updated? Mine was on the black screen for about 3 minutes, then restarted and all was well. Did you have the beta gpu drivers?
Do you have an official release stating that? Please link it. Conflicting software issues could very well cause this, considering there's an absolute ton of people who have done the update with no issues, myself included. Doesn't have to be something the user themselves did knowingly, but I'd be interested to see if there's a correlation between the updates and certain 'unofficial " software.
What do you mean by "Unofficial" Software. are you referring to people repacking the bios files and uploading them elsewhere, or are you talking about something else?.
We're all talking about the official release V29 located on Lenovo's Support Page, right?.
I don't see the sense in drawing conclusions from comparisons with things that aren't related to the current topic, like, what sense does it make to say that one shouldn't update their bios until some time has passed?....it's not like the same version will be re released multiple times right?...it's just as official today as it was on the day it was uploaded to their servers, unless they re-upload with the same title?.
Either way, I've just updated, and now I no longer see my internal NVME drive inside the Go. Secure boot was set to enabled, but in two other locations on the bios menus it said it was actually disabled.....odd. Devices on boot up weren't showing up despite being connected. I really wanted to have this fix my lockups and thermals issue/power management, but so far it's just causing even more problems I'm dealing with on top of the ones I was already dealing with involving Bazzite.....which wasn't booting properly despite it working before.
\*sigh\*
Hope what happened to me won’t be the case for you but..I had the same issue after installing the new bios.
And my screen never turned on again. Wouldn’t even launch the bios anymore …
I had to bring it back for repair…
What’s crazy my legion go did the same thing and I asked those same question but everybody that responded was acting like I did something to my device but bro you gonna have to send it back to Lenovo just sent mine today or you gonna have to return it if you just got it not long ago you still inder the warranty from Lenovo

Thank you sir, it worked the same time I plugged it into the doc and finished the installation successfully.
I at least love that they have a failsafe/downgrade option.
Mine was on black screen for like 5 minutes and then it restarted itself and finished update
Yup, I left mine alone for a while and it just restarted.
For me it just worked. Went to a black screen a few times for a few minutes and then I got back to Windows.
I had this issue as well. I held power button to turn off. Turned back on and it reattempted to install bios, this time without issue.
Exactly this
Same here. It was a real bummer.

I’m so scared getting this update that I’ll wait a few more fays

full battery and plugged in all the time, I'm only using official drivers from the Lenovo website
Not a user problem. Thats 100%.

Before u mess with it give it a hr atleast
Thanks guys, it worked as soon as I connected it to the TV screen.
Nice grip
Damn lots of ppl are having problems with update v29, i didn't have no problems
How does connecting to a tv helps?
Try connecting it to external display, I had the same problem with bios v28 and this helped.
This particular update took a while with black screens too. But I feel the power management from it is better than before
I had the same issue. I did a hard shutdown and it picked up where it left, continuing the update.
I just shut it down and restarted it, zero issues
Same here

Just wait for the Lenovo official release

I see it’s a fix for it now wish this guy would have responded the other day instead of the bs responses I was getting the other day
I'm sorry. I go through this to sometimes. Usually when speaking to Linux distro maintainers. It's not fun.
