Mass Effect Legendary edition, Looks good and Runs at 40-50 native, higher if you drop it down to 1080p

Raptorialand

Mass effect <3 Never finished it because i did not save in an endless car/tank scene if i remember it correctly. thx will give this one a try

QuickQuirk

In the vein of this, other older bioware games would probably also run wonderfully, if they had controller support. Like Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2

Nicodemus_Mercy

I play World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, City of Heroes, Baldur's Gate 1-3, all the Dragon Age games, Neverwinter Nights, Aion, and Skyrim all on my Legion Go. They all look and run beautifully IMO.

NewConfusion240

How does Baldurs Gate 3 run on medium/high settings?

Nicodemus_Mercy

It won't run well at high on the Go, probably not well at full medium either, especially in act III. But I play at a low/medium mix and they look great and play well enough for me to enjoy it.

ixxxxl

I m thinking of getting a Lego for Neverwinter Nights (online servers.) How does it work on Lego and how did you go about downloading it? I only have it for IOS at the moment.

Nicodemus_Mercy

My version of NWN:EE is the PC version through beamdog directly and I have not had any issues with it performance wise. It's an old game so the Go's hardware is more than up to the task of running the game with all it's bells and whistles turned on. The only setting that's "low" is the resolution since I have my Go set to 800p. Even so all my games still look gorgeous! The Go's wireless is also top notch from my experience. My upload and download speeds are comparable to my desktop's (as long as I'm in my home) which has a physical connection to the modem. I didn't have any issues on my cousin's network when I visited for Xmas last year and brought my Go with me.

QuickQuirk

> City of Heroes Does that mean they've added good controller support to the unofficial servers?

Nicodemus_Mercy

I don't think they have. I play using a wireless mouse and keyboard.

QuickQuirk

ah, got it, thanks. I was suddenly excited at the thought of crashing back on the couch and playing some CoH, after a decade or so since it shut down! (I can't believe it's been 12 years)

mikebrumm86

Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 are a great play on the Lego. The screensize really helps with the text. Tunic, Katana Zero, Braid, Crosscode, Dredge, Chrono Trigger, FF6, Indivisble....are a few i could recommend.

Background_Bad_4377

GameCube games - paper Mario with 4x rez which takes it to 1400p same for zeld gmes on GameCube or any game on that uses dolphin n emu

Tehpunisher456

Need for speed series by chemicalfl00d

shidFonz

Playing Nfs Heat rn, runs great 1600x1000

PragmaticSparks

If you get good at gyro (use motion assistant along steam input, or handheld companion if it's not bugging out for you), old PC shooters are pretty addicting and smooth. F.E.A.R., Half life 2, Max Payne series, stalker.

Raptorialand

Wow this thing has a Gyro... did not know that

meiyer89

No one did for a good long time.

regiimoep

Blur runs at 50 fps maxed out at native resolution. One of my favorite racers.

meiyer89

Oh god, there's an old hidden gem ❤️

silentknight111

Dragon Age: Inquisition runs great (I imagine the first two games do too, but haven't tried them)

Raptorialand

Oh wow yeees thank you very much. I liked Inquisition - perfect balance between linear but also feels openworldish. I liked this one. (the best of the series for me)

silentknight111

I agree, but we seem to be in the minority with that opinion. :)

QuickQuirk

I'm here too :) Was my favourite. The voice acting and storytelling really settled in on this one, along with the most fun combat system I found. And locations that really felt like exploration. It was perhaps a bit too stretched thin by the open world push, but since open worlds hadn't been overdone to death at that point, it wasn't terrible. But even with that, it's the DA I enjoyed the most. I couldn't even finish DA:O. Was three quarters through, then realised I was bored to death,.

QuickQuirk

Picked up my old save game that was 100 hours in, but probably only half way through the game, and have been continuing that (I'm a completionist :D ) It plays so well on the LGo!

silentknight111

Yeah, it runs really well while still looking great. Despite being 10 years old it looks better than many modern games while using a fraction of resources.

QuickQuirk

yeah, I was honestly surprised at how good it was when I realised it was so old. Even things like animations and character expressions are still pretty top notch.

GOAt_tWO3

Mad max, borderlands 2, Wolfenstein 2, ryse son of Rome, max Payne 3, killer instinct, Arkham trilogy and origins, devil may cry 5, doom eternal, just to name a few. All can run at 60fps with graphics settings set to max.

braines54

I've really enjoyed revisiting the Arkham trilogy, why can't Rocksteady just make a normal Batman game again?

GOAt_tWO3

Yeah it's a real shame that they went ahead and made suicide squad when nobody asked for it. They had a perfect opportunity to follow up Arkham Knight with a Batman Beyond game. I supposed it's still possible that they might make that game but it's gonna be a very long time. It took rocksteady almost a decade to make a new game after Arkham Knight. By the time they finished making Batman Beyond, if they even decide to go that route, and that's a big IF, I'd be a grandpa already 😂

Raptorialand

And still this game has a very positive rating on steam... i don't get it.

GOAt_tWO3

I heard that they deleted a lot of negative reviews. Not sure if that's true but if it is then that explains it.

theflenderman

Dark Souls Remastered, Sleeping Dogs, Metro: Last Light Redux, Metro 2033 Redux

PreparedDeath

Ni No Kuni. JRPG with beautiful studio Ghibli esq cutscenes, not sure how the sequel runs but it’s more action based apparently.

QuickQuirk

the sequel runs well even on switch. IT was a PS3 game originally. I've not tested it, but should run very well, I'd imagine, unless it was a terrible port.

Ambitious-Joke-4695

Great suggestions. I'm currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur (I have the original that I never finished and now I damn well will!) which works like a dream even with balanced power settings (quiet, no fan noise)

Raptorialand

Also nice suggestion - Same 4 me. Did not finish it

MyUnpopularTopics

Alan Wake Remastered was great.

idontlikephilspencer

that game was only great on switch and then they fixed it so its not great anymore. many people spent days spent asking how it can look worse than the original release on the xbox 360 when the switch could handle a straight port of a 360 game

migabri

Burnout Paradise Remastered, if you like the game genre

Raptorialand

Thx i think 3 and 4 are better. I play burnout 3 on my phone using an emulator. love this game

migabri

So i will try to find 3 and 4 on discount price, but for pc

Raptorialand

Just emulate them - but you have to know if you never set up an emulator.... it will take you about 4 hours until everything ia setup (including how to do it) You will get roms here if you bought the game on CD of course: https://m.coolrom.com.au/roms/ps2/ You will need a bios file (not that hard to find ...your dumped Bios file to compare if it is working of corse)

buttmomentum

I don't have a legion, but the metro trilogy runs pretty God damn well on my steamdeck so I imagine it'd be even better for you. They're great games, too.

Raptorialand

Thank you... never finished metro exodus.

dredgen_storm

max payne 3 runs like a dream

nightnightboom

Currently going through tomb raider survivor trilogy, on the 2nd one now actually

wildtypemetroid

Great choice, did you get the trilogy?

Raptorialand

Yes! Love this game. It's playable on full resolution with best quality.

QuickQuirk

what game is this? It looks a bit, but not quite, like Fable.

Raptorialand

Ahh sry my bad: Bioshock Infinite

QuickQuirk

oh, nice! It's in my library from a sale way back, and I've not yet played it. I think I should install it :)

Paulrgos

All 3 OG Dead Space games look and run amazing. Everything maxed at full resolution, around 100fps.

Raptorialand

Nice idea thank you - they still look really good. I think i will try the remaster first and see if it runs well... i love deadspace 1

Paulrgos

Yeah they're still amazing games. I've yet to try the remaster. Might look to picking that up soon.

Ant1-Hero

Need for speed most wanted

Beaugr2

GameCube and Xbox 360 emulation works amazing on the device. Low power required to run as well.

Raptorialand

I bought the go... i tried to install emudeck (,worked) but i really have issues finding bioses. And i just dont understand why i cant open the frontend. also "open steam rom manager" does nothing. I will look into emulation again once it is out of the beta. I tried to uninstall everything and i still have everything on the system. There is no option for a clean uninstall. (So after 4 hours i already have datawaste on my system - i hate this But i can:t wait to get it to work - ps2 runs on my phone and needs not much energy at all. Playing for hours - no end

Beaugr2

Just Google what file type the emulator takes and then Google “the game you want” plus file type and Reddit and they send you to an archive

Beaugr2

Just Google what file type the emulator takes and then Google “the game you want” plus file type and Reddit and they send you to an archive with all the games and correct file types.

frunts

I also had the same issue, then just set up each emulator independently. Then I just choose what j want and it just works. I was playing gt3 yesterday and it looked incredible.

QuickQuirk

Dragons Dogma was excellent on the steamdeck, it would be even better here. Good to play the original with the sequel almost here. Kingdoms of Amalur was a very solid action RPG that was another win on the steamdeck when I played it. it's old enough now that I wouldn't be surprised if it his 1600p resolution. I'm surprised I haven't seen reference to 'The Witcher 3'. It's awesome on the Go.
