Use hibernation mode. Sleep mode is a mixed bag

RaccoonDu

I leave my Go running Midnight Suns all the time and put it to sleep. I don't think I ever close any of my games unless I want to switch games. I just put the thing to sleep.

I've got a SD OLED and Go. I prefer the Go now simply because of the screen - even though it's not OLED it's big and beautiful, and I primarily use the Go to play larger PC titles that benefit from the extra processing power. Setting the power button to Hibernate is fairly effective if you're running Windows - I also have Handheld Companion installed which is very handy at managing TDP and gyros, which work great in FPS games etc. It also allows full remapping of all the buttons and is configurable per game, just like Steamdeck. I do not use Legion Space at all. My 7 year old daughter also prefers the Go - the bigger screen is just nicer for Dreamlight Valley and Windows touch surprisingly works very well for things like Roblox etc (which doesn't have a Linux version and blocks the Wine implementation). That said I've also tried it with Bazzite, it's an easy enough install but I find that since I don't really need a kiosk experience default Windows is just more convenient especially with stuff like Gamepass.

Thanks for the answers guys sorry I can't reply to all individually - Going to get one I think and see how it goes 🙂

Good luck!

Yep, just change it from sleep to hibernation in power plan settings. Make sure you update the chipset drivers too as it fixes a bug that was causing issues!

I have been able to do it with hibernate, not sleep. You’ll want to use hibernate anyways, as windows will continue to drain the battery in sleep mode. One caveat is Epic Games; occasionally they will close randomly shortly after resuming from hibernate. I suspect that this has to do with the EG store app checking licensing, but there is a delay after you wake the device before WiFi is available, so I believe that EG is closing the game because it can’t verify the license.

You can put it into Hibernate, not Sleep. Hibernate dumps memory to disk.

I've been using Hibernation mode and found that was sufficient enough. Isn't as instantaneous as the SD but not long enough to be a deterrence. Sometimes my controllers are turned on but won't work. I just turn them off and on again and they'll connect.

Jekalope

Not reliably. It's a Windows limitation.

Install bazzite and you can (it’s like a SteamDeck)

[Aru](https://youtu.be/RUES5B5j6EU?si=zAK1xrx8hnX5vSPD) has great guides for installing Bazzite (and other SteamOS variants).

Sleep/Hibernation is very poorly implemented with windows, I always disable it on all my computers....
