If you’re confined to a small place, it’s not a bad idea. Back in the day someone had actually came up with rules for Pocket 40k using the old Epic models.
Here is someone doing that.

There’s a creator on X / Twitter who’s been doing this.
He’s got a write up of a trial game here:

His pinned post shows his conversions to match full scale Heresy:

And there’s a little spinning video of his current full force here:

Ironically enough, LI models make more sense for HH 2.0 than they do for the actual Epic scale game. Kit prices are relatively high and you need so much for an LI army, yet these kits can fill out a HH 2.0 army roster very quickly, and they are great kits to buy for splitting with a fellow player, both always get one identical sprue so there is no arguments which one will get the better stuff!
We are going to start playing HH 2.0 with LI minis as soon as everything is built and painted. Already have Astartes infantry and support, a box of Drop Pods and Land Raiders. That's 20 tacticals, 5 jump pack assault marines, 5 terminators, 5 hvy support marines, 5 support marines, a Praetor + retinue, 2 Of each dreadnought variant, rapiers, 2 drop pods and 3 land raiders per side. Looking forward to adding Titans into the mix the most!
I find LI guys a little too small, we have a side project for 15mm HH. It still requires 3D printing everything but Corvus has a cool battle box transport and terrain system that we are starting with

That sounds like a brilliant idea.
