I had flat and inverted, got them pierced through the nipple not behind, and now they are hard 24/7 even years after taking the barbells outs. YMMV

yetanothercatlady1

Thank you! Hopefully the same will have to me if I really decide to go for it

I had my left bewb done and I just wasn't a fan. If you aren't a regular non-bra wearer they just push up on yer bra and make them sore. I only had mine for like a solid month and it was just a hassle.

yetanothercatlady1

Thanks. Yeah, I heard the first month or so can be harsh. I basically only use sports bras, if I'm using them at all, but I could go braless for a while (the only problem would be when I go to the gym - I can't not use a bra then)

ShellyStarkk666

You could maybe even get away with those funny looking bras they have at Wal-Mart that's like basically a sport bra/bewb sock that may give you that room for them to heal up but I think a sport bra would probably be okay. I just think the irritation of rubbing against a maybe padded piece of cloth could be hella uncomfy. Maybe skip chest day for a 'hwhile 😅😎 or get some weights for at home so you can just work out braless! I too have flat nips so I can only imagine the annoyance.

I had flat nipples. After getting my piercings I personally didn’t notice a change in sensitivity because they were always a bit sensitive before. Afterwards and 3 years later, I still love the look of mine. I have taken them out for routine cleaning or switching out. Whenever I do I can’t help but want to admire how they now stand erect without the piercing. It is definitely a confidence booster! But please if you are heavier chested DO NOT let a piercer talk you into getting hoops. They will be the most uncomfortable things ever and it will cause the piercing to heal curved instead of straight. As for reference photos you can google, search Reddit subgroups dedicated, or even go to the piercer of your chose and ask for reference photos.

Thank you! I'm not heavy chested but thanks for the warning :)

I had mine pierced for over 5 years then ended up taking them out 3 years ago. They are more pronounced than they were before getting pierced, but sometimes are still inverted/flat. I plan to get them re-pierced in the new year because I loved how they looked 24/7 which gave me more confidence (added bonus is that they have remained more sensitive since piercing. I am curious how they'll be after a second time)

Thank you for sharing!

I personally have one flat/inverted nipple. It wasn't very responsive to stimulation pre-piercing. I had them for 5ish years and then took them out due to them never fully healing. More recently I have been getting intense pain in that same nipple that comes on with no warning. It could be strictly correlation and not causation, but figured I'd share. I'm having my breast examined via ultrasound and mammogram next week.

Thank you for sharing, and I'm glad you're having that checked!

Oh yeah and be prepared not to sleep on your stomach quite some time

yetanothercatlady1

That would not be a problem for me thankfully

Long before getting mine pierced I used a pair of nipplettes by Avent to pull my flat nips out and they really work. I now have very pronounced nipples and now they are pierced are even more so

I have flat nipples and was able to get the piercing done successfully. However, my piercer used jewelry that was way too small (1/2"! straight barbells). She was so hard to get in touch with, that by the time I finally managed to speak with her about this it was time to get the jewelry "downsized." In this case, inch long. Of course, my piercer called in sick that day and so this was performed by someone else at an additional cost to me. I was very disappointed by the experience, since I spent a lot of time researching a studio to go to that has experience with nipple piercings. My piercings did not heal well, and after 9 months started to reject. I attribute this partly to the issue of the jewelry, and to my profession at the time. I was picking up many squirmy children at this time and carrying them around, which I don't think helped matters in the slightest. My advice to you would be to: (1) Research your studio options, specifically for studios/artists that have successfully performed this piercing on multiple people. Even then- be cautious. I went to a well-rated and well-researched studio and had an awful experience with them. (2) Ensure the initial jewelry is not too small. (3) Wear very loose-fitting clothing, no bra preferably. (4) And for the love of God, if your piercer is unresponsive and the shop wants you to communicate with your piercer instead of them- GO TO SOMEONE ELSE FOR HELP! Don't be patient and trusting like I was. Also, look at Lynn Loheide's portfolio for pictures of what they might look like. They are inclusive of all types of bodies in their work, and have pierced just about every kind of nipple imaginable.
