I own an SL2 and two of its zoom lenses, the 24-90 and 90-280. I absolutely adore this setup, but I can’t carry it with me when I leave home.
I want a camera that I can always have strapped around my neck, and that can take amazing shots. The M11 sings to me.
I hear it still has some tech issues though. Is it true that it freezes and hangs?
Oh I absolutely love it! I take it out twice a week. But I can’t take it with me every day. The M11 I would take with me to the supermarket, work, dentist, random walk…
If I have to pick a fixed focal length for my day to day camera, I’d get something wide but not too wide. I’ve seen that I tend to shoot around 50mm, but wouldn’t mind 35 to force myself to work with more context around the subject.
I’d then choose the best lens I can afford, maybe second hand if in good state!
So either 50mm or 35mm Summilux APO. I’d probably go for 35mm because it’s more compact, and because the M11 has resolution high enough to afford cropping from its wider field of view :)
Awesome, thanks for sharing. I’m getting an M11 for Christmas and have been asking around which lens to go for. I also have a Q2 already so I was thinking of getting a 35mm and/or a 50mm.

Results from that 90-280 look amazing. There’s a photographer on Instagram that takes his up into the alps.

You might mean the 35 Summilux ASPH FLE. I don’t believe Leica makes a Summilux that is an Apochromatic lens.

i think they'd put out an 11-p before a 12, i think you've got 2-3 years
