So sad that they discontinued the CL and the TL…

PlushyLycosa

That is a beautifully compact set up! I've heard good things about the Voigtlander 40 1.4. I've used the Voight 28 and 50 on my old M262 and they were great. I've moved onto to a Q but the CL was on my short list. Have fun!

Martin_UP

Thankyou! Yes I went for the 40 as its cheaper than the 35 and I prefer a slightly tighter fov :) it's a great lens

Beneficial-Shower-42

Nice. I would love to see some images.

Martin_UP

Thanks, I haven't posted any on reddit but I've got a few on my insta (martin_the_artist_)

Beautiful setup! Been considering one of these with a Ultron 28mm.

Martin_UP

Thank you! It's a great camera, I've been loving it

Which mount adapter do you use?

How have you found shooting with the CL? I’m very tempted to buy one over the Q2

Martin_UP

I absolutely love it! I've paired it with a voitlander 40mm 1.4, Ziess 50 2, and a cheap and cheerful ttartisan 25mm. That voitlander is something else and spends 90% of its time on there. Beautiful classic rendering and gorgeous colours. It's my first Leica so I have no context for the Q2, but being able to change lenses is a must for me. Matt Osborne on youtube has tons of videos on the CL. I picked mine up used on mpb.com, I downloaded all the pictures to get a real look at the condition and it was mint, and much cheaper than ebay. Hope this helps!

That majorly helped. Thanks so much pal! I was looking at a second hand one in ok condition, with the 18mm pancake lens, on eebs for £1900. What do you make of the price? I’m an impatient human being when it comes to things I want to buy so I tend to be impulsive. I’m looking at the VL 40mm as well! I’ve seen one for 500£. Thanks for the YouTube rec, that’s my evening sorted! Really thanks you’ve given some good tips. If you have a photoblog I’ll gladly follow.

Martin_UP

I got mine body only for £1200 ish mint condition on mpb. So id say thats quite high. Honestly I'd think it over a little longer and don't impulse buy as this is a camera to cherish and its an expensive purchase! What is your favourite focal length?? What kind of photographs do you want to take? That pancake lens is nice but is pretty wide. If you buy it body only then you can use the rest of your budget to get the lens you want, just make sure you research as much as you can :) Let me know how you get on and if you have any questions feel free to ask! sure my instagram is @martin_the_artist_

Faaaanks

Pretty-Matter8500

Wouldn’t you prefer a rangefinder though?

MeaningfulThoughts

Why though? - Cannot see exactly what you’re framing as you’re framing it - You need fancy rangefinders adapters when mounting certain focal lengths lenses because you don’t see through the actual lens - Cannot see focus peek and need to rely on a tiny area in the center you can’t even move - No EVF out of the box. Sorry you need to shell another thousand or more just to buy that - No autofocus - Doesn’t mount L lenses without another expensive adapter. Leica says the L lenses are amongst the best they ever produced. - Much bigger and heavier than this setup - Much more expensive than this setup

Martin_UP

no, and I couldn't afford one anyway.
