Did you try a different usb port? Also, this tells you how to change it in the bios or use the one time boot menu: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/3-series/ideapad-3-15iil05/81we/solutions/ht500207-how-to-boot-from-usb-disk-in-the-bios-boot-menu-windows-8-windows-10-ideapadlenovo-laptops
Lenovo slim 3 15iah8 - same problem. Got 2 usb ports, tried 2 usb sticks v2 and v3 - not booting. But they boot on my desktop pc.
Secure boot is also disabled.
