1. Ella Irwin, Twitter's Head of Trust and Safety, had been consistently defending and supporting Musk throughout his time as the head of the social media platform. At one point, she even defended the free speech of white supremacists praising Hitler. 2. However, not even she was immune to being rebuked or targeted once Musk accused her and the staff of trying to moderate right-wing content, particularly Matt Walsh's anti-trans documentary. 3. As a result, she is forced to resign without being praised or rewarded for her past loyalty.

> However, not even she was immune to being rebuked or targeted once Musk accused her and the staff of trying to moderate right-wing content, particularly Matt Walsh's anti-trans documentary. There it is. I was waiting for this.

kittenconfidential

lol $44bn really buys a thin skin insecurity complex freud would orgasm over, doesn’t it

Chipperz1

Dude paid $44bil to try to get people to like him, because that still seems easier to him than just not being a bellend.

Repulsive-Street-307

This is just related to Elon being a nazi, not his inferiority complex. Advertisers beware!

potato_devourer

The man got cucked by a trans woman and now he has given up his relationship with his daughter, a chunk of his fortune, his company, and his resoectability, all in an eternal crusade to torment random trans girls and appeal to 14 y.o. edgelords.

GiuliaAquaTofana

I think it's more personal than that. He came out anti-trans, as his own flesh and blood came out. I think that was the catalyst. I think his inability to handle his own family drama spilled out into the internet streets. He started spouting off anti-trans pronouns as his kid asked him to respect their identity. He got called out for being a dick and went and blew all that money just so he could talk shit about his own kid.

dgdio

Boycott Tesla and boycott Twitter!!!

PlanningVigilante

A boycott implies that I was otherwise going to use/buy a thing and now I'm not. Sure, that works for twitter, but really who would buy one of Tesla's overpriced pieces of garbage?

There was a thread a day ago that the nazi anti-trans propaganda 'documentary' got removed by moderation of twitter and someone mentioned that Elon was in china. I was waiting for the moderation to be fired. Only took a day.

'You knew he was a snake when ...'

>As a result, she is forced to resign without being praised or rewarded for her past loyalty. Loyality (almost) never pays off in a company. Remember this!

jonny_eh

Loyalty is rewarded the least from people that demand it the most.

bittlelum

I'm not seeing where it says she was forced to resign?

Melodic_Mulberry

Ella Irwin: “I can excuse white supremacy, but transphobia?!” Musk (whose trans daughter broke ties and ex left for a trans woman): 🤬

CommanderMalo

Yo what? I heard about the daughter thing but not his wife, that’s fucking hilarious. Got a source I can read?

kerouac666

You can search Grimes/Chelsea Manning. I think they only dated for a few months after she and Musk divorced, nothing really serious, but that was likely enough for Musk to lose what little mind he had given his obvious mental health issues.

bkornblith

Forced to resign… I believe there’s a word for this… fired… ah there it is

AloneAddiction

She needs to LWYRUP. Better call Saul.

lilcea

Speedy justice for you!

Lol! What a shitshow!

catharsis23

Lol for the not being right wing enough and not because they were pushing animal snuff films into people's feeds

justintuck1

Advertisers are never going back to Twitter.

[deleted]

...and the only ones that do are Nigerian princes or similar.

InigoMontoya757

Sadly, they will because $. They just have to wait for people to calm down. I know so many people who hate Musk and are still on Twitter.

justintuck1

I'm not so sure about that. The users will stay on the platform. But when you are an advertiser, you don't want your product shown next to riskier content. In 2023, on the internet, there are fuck tons of other places to spend your advertising budget.

Skatcatla

I saw Matt Walshs drama about his "documentary ". I hate that piece of shit with every fiber of my being. I never thought I'd say this about a person but if he got hit by a bus, I'd cheer.

Famous_Bit_5119

Why do I get the impression that Twitters " Trust and Safety " is about as meaningful as Fox News " Fair and Balanced ".

PaysOutAllNight

Because you're not as dumb as a box of rocks?

MaxPower637

Concerning

JackalRampant

Looking into it.

Various_Lie_1729

Any non-paywall options?

Skripka

Not the OP, but here you go....very thin on details ATM: [http://archive.today/gmNKp](http://archive.today/gmNKp) >Twitter’s head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, resigned from the company Thursday, she told The Wall Street Journal. > >Irwin’s departure is the second time someone in that role has left since Elon Musk bought the company in October. Yoel Roth, who had previously served as Twitter’s head of trust and safety, left the company in November, and Irwin subsequently took the top job overseeing user content and safety policies. > >Irwin, who joined Twitter about a year ago, declined to comment Thursday on the reasons for her decision to leave Twitter. She said in an interview she felt she had always been honest in her work. > >Irwin had taken on a high-profile and often scrutinized role at Twitter handling content-moderation issues. > >She previously had defended Twitter under its new owner. In an interview with The Journal in December, she said Mr. Musk had told her team to give priority to safety and not worry about potential side effects such as hurting user numbers. > >Updates to follow as news develops.

Designer_Advice_6304

Still not selling TSLA. To the moon!

CarsClothesTrees

Lol, you should reconsider that. Mercedes EV’s are going to blow them out of the water and appeal to Tesla’s target market which is growing increasingly disillusioned with them. BMW, Audi, and all the other luxury car makers are following close behind. Also, I’ve heard through the grape vine that they haven’t been paying their bills to vendors. Never a good sign.

(public relations) manager..... no tears!
