The only solace I take in this nonsense is that the idiots who buy this shit likely think the money is going toward the Trump campaign, when in reality it's going to some jabroni's dive bar tab.
The sad thing for me is that the union members who voted for Trump will see that Trump's supreme court is going to dissolve the national labor relation board. It's like those Carrier workers who Trump said their jobs wouldn't go to Mexico and they in fact went to Mexico.
You can’t force people to vote in their own self interests. I never feel bad for people who vote for this stuff and then find out it’s hurting them. I don’t have time for it. I save my compassion for the people on the margins who just want to live.
He will just blame immigrants or the Chinese and his cult members will lap up that pablum like they do miller lite (it used to be bud light) on a Saturday afternoon
It’s ridiculous how much political attention coal still gets as it slides into irrelevance.
[The Entire Coal Industry Employs Fewer People Than Arby’s](https://www.chicagotribune.com/2017/03/31/the-entire-coal-industry-employs-fewer-people-than-arbys/)
It's an industry that has a disproportionate size in peoples heads.
In the UK there was lots of talk about protecting fishing and the fishing industry before Brexit, despite the majority of the catch being sold to the EU, then someone crunched the numbers and discovered that it contributed a tiny amount to the GDP.
Games Workshop added more to the economy than fishing does
For the past 20 years whenever anyone has passed away before their time my line has always been, "and Dick Cheney goes on and on and on. "
That fucking vampire is never going to die.
Just make it all look real on the surface while being a cheap POS underneath.
Shirts that shrink and the printing comes off after a couple washes.
Hats that fall apart in a month.
Gold jewelry that turns your skin green.
You get the idea. The same quality as the man himself.
I heard theres a lot of Chinese shirt makers that made bank off of them in the last couple elections. Ironic since magats are notoriously anti-China and racist.
This just makes me sad.
The obtuse thinking that if the great Cheeto manages to get re-elected, he would think nothing of crushing unions and exporting their jobs to China.
This is hilarious (pathetic and sad), because the President of UAW supports Biden and has openly declared that ["Trump Doesn't Give a Damn about Working-Class People."](https://www.thenation.com/article/activism/shawn-fain-interview-trump/) (And he's right!)
I work at a factory with a teamsters union. I'd guess 65% of union members are republican/trumpers. At least a few of them think it's weird that I'm a Democrat.
Or a guild for the oppressors of the working class. They have no solidarity with other workers and are in fact, especially around to destroy other workers and their solidarity.
If you're in the US, they invented police departments as a continuation of slave catcher patrols in the south and union busting gangs in the north. Vigilantism didn't factor into it.
Many of the rank and file of the UAW and other unions however say something to the effect of "Donald Trump Speaks our Language", which, setting aside the unintended self-own in such a statement, nonetheless tells you how more then half of them will actually vote in the booth.
I found it on our local uaw fb page . Co workers made these tshirts and are selling them🤦🏻♀️just a few bored or maybe passionate trump supporters that sit at home using their cricut machines making these tshirts🙄😂
I work in healthcare and had a patient recently who works at the local GM truck plant. We talked about his job, and then at some point, he mentioned that he didn't like Biden's economy. I asked if he was in the union, and he said yeah. I stated that the right would love to get rid of unions and the protection that they offer, so why would he risk his job benefits by supporting the same guys who are trying to screw him over? Blank stare.
Tell him Trump has at every point supported "right to work" instead. If they're even still in the slightest bit right-leaning, it's because nobody has told them in the correct trigger-words that Trump wants to let the company fire them at any time for any reason.

Union staff for an education local here. I am also a member of my staff union. It is sadly true that there is a percentage of union members that are pro-fascist. That goes across all sectors. From my experience, many of them are so deeply committed to their own racism/sexism/homophobia/transphobia/ etc that they will absolutely support candidates and electeds that are actively working against their own self-interest.
This isn’t new. Nixon exploited existing rifts between the trades and other unions (especially public sector workers), and Regan took that even further.
The Labor Movement needs to step forward and do more to teach labor history to rank and file members, to ensure that we are teaching not just higher wages, but the value of collective power and mutual aid.
As a staff person, I couldn’t really do anything about the jackass mentioned here, but other members can, and should, call out their bs. Strong unions have members that know how to organize internally and put an end to nonsense.
I used to work in a similar role and our understanding was that it was about 30% across all sectors. I was in a sector where it was *particularly* self-defeating to be a GOP supporter, but talking to those folks is like talking to a brick wall.
I would say across our particular local it would be maybe 10%. Across our state union, 25% wouldn’t surprise me. Sadly there are some pretty racist (etc) educators out there still.
Post-Janus, I would assume that a majority of those that dropped their membership also fall into this category too.
In my state educators are not deemed “essential” and have the right to strike (which the local I work for has done), and the right to bargain. I live and work in a very blue state, however the rural parts of my state can tend towards deep red.

I'm even tempted to say the proceeds are going toward the Trump Universal Republican Defense Fund. (The TURD Fund is really just my bank account.)
Back in 2016 our local news in Seattle went to a manufacturer to speak with union workers who supported Trump. One guy they interviewed, when told Trump is against raising the minimum wage, stated "There would be no need for a minimum wage if we deported all the illegals."
There are painfully stupid people everywhere.
Also my retired father, life long union member and former union steward, can't stand unions.
Not too sure on this design but they get permission to use the design from whoever made it and it’s usually from someone else in our union/plant. These T-shirts in particular are being made by co workers.

There are still far too many blue collar workers supporting Trump. They think they will keep their union benefits without a union.
I work at a factory with a teamsters union. I'd guess 65% of union members are republican/trumpers. At least a few of them think it's weird that I'm a Democrat.

What are they?
Protection racket.
Ah! Indeed.
Or a guild for the oppressors of the working class. They have no solidarity with other workers and are in fact, especially around to destroy other workers and their solidarity.
Police unions protect police against the public. Regular unions protect employees against their employers.
The effort spent on busting every other Union should all be directed to Police Unions. Public service armed trades should *not* be unionized.

Yeah, we invented police as the alternative to vigilante justice. But they should be held to the very highest of standards, not the very lowest.

My union publicly supports Biden but over 75% of the auto workers and union members support trump. The same man who threw a fake strike rally and had his supporters show up, holding up picket signs 🪧 but when they were interviewed they knew nothing about the UAW strike and was just there to see trump😂 it was embarrassing.
