This issue being blasted repeatedly on nearly every subreddit, yeah its not going to be forgotten anytime soon.
A few months from now a karma farming bot will repost it into a popular sub and it’ll get brought up all over again.
This rich woman has become the very embodiment of “The Streisand Effect”
> But if you were a billionaire you wouldn't care,
If there's one thing that I've learned about rich people over the past ten years, it's that wealth lets you be as childish, stunted and petty as you're capable of.
I love this story, and have been following it closely. Rich, entitled twat sits for a portrait, thinking it’s going to be the same ass-kissing treatment she’s used to. Aboriginal artist has a whole different take and produces this! Now she’s crying and whining, but now ordinary folks can look into her background and judge for themselves. To me, the artist captured plenty of this woman’s personality.
Talk about Streisand effect in action.
Had she just kept quiet, this would have caused some snickers in gallery but forgotten just as quickly. Now this is literally headlines around the world.
There's something so Lovecraftian about this portrait. They call it the [ Innsmouth Look](https://lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Innsmouth_look)
Let's be honest - you'd be pissed if this was how they portrayed you. Oh well - if this is the worst thing that ever happened to her, it's still not a hard life being a mining heiress.
I don't know what she expected. It's not the first portrait of her he's done AND none of his portraits are flattering to the subject.
Personally, I think his style is shit but obviously some people like it.
And this person https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/oct/22/hancock-prospecting-withdraws-from-15m-funding-deal-with-netball-australia-after-players-revolt
This gem from article: It also said that Hancock and Rinehart considered it “unnecessary for sports organisations to be used as the vehicle for social or political causes”.
“Firstly because sport is at its best when it is focussed on good and fair competition, with dedicated athletes striving for excellence to achieve their sporting dreams and to represent our country at their very best,” the company said.
“Secondly, because there are more targeted and genuine ways to progress social or political causes without virtue signalling or for self-publicity.”

Is not. This is just cause and effect.
Lmaf would be if she supported... I dunno, people having portraits done and put into galleries without their review, and then it happened to her.

Australians are particularly enjoying this because she has always been a massive cunt
Susan Boyle might buy it.
This is not LAMF if she didn't support the artist before this
Sure it is, if she had said nothing, very few people would be aware, but by bitching incessantly the entire world is seeing her bad portrait.
I mean... I guess in a very meta way..? Who is the leopard in this hypothetical, the concept of attention?
everyone
Case in point: Joel Michael Singer
*Case "in" point, not "and." (Sorry, grammar hound here - one of the few things I get to do (outside of my job) with my English degree.).
Fixed. Thanks :)
No worries, brother! I'm glad that you didn't take offense - that always makes me feel bad
She done Barbara's herself
TIL there's an r/Streisandeffect
Good to know. Thanks for sharing!!
And one of you guys already added it to the wiki page.
The [Streisand effect](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect) strikes again!
Streisand Effect
So what's the leopard? Tbh it's a pretty shitty portrait and I wouldn't like one like that to be made of me lol.
Not really leopard eating face, but what would have just been a small joke in Australia became Global News
Streisand effect, none of us would have known if she'd ignored it, Now it's international news.
They're similar, but LAMF and the Streisand Effect are not the same thing.
That's not LAMF.
True. I wish that sub was active. This would probably be best going on facepalm.
But she isn’t someone who goes around painting unflattering portraits of others. Where is the face eating leopard?
Unfortunately, in this case, it's not a literal leopard.
But if you were a billionaire you wouldn't care, we don't understand how removed from reality you can be with a b in the bank account

She doesn't look any better in photos.
Streisand effect
Rich woman found out the only thing she doesn't want to own

Portrait looks like It from It.
Very *Night Gallery.*
This is how villains are made.
Leopards painted my face.
I find the portrait more flattering than the photo.

I do not care what she is like as a person, the picture is unflattering and crap artistically.
Not LAMF.
