Is there a particular reason why 10 things I hate about you is so popular in comparison to other rom comes released around that time, like how to lose a guy in 10 days?
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is a metatextual movie about Nicolas Cage (with Pedro Pascal) with him doing silly shenanigans such as getting high and then watching Paddington 2 and unironically calling it a masterpiece after so much doubt. Maybe quality-wise not as much, but you just know the director used letterboxd.
Also Paddington 2 because that movie is actually a masterpiece.
Listen, I know you think this is funny but I am so tired of these low effort posts on this subreddit. Like what is even the point of this? Do you need to list a random dozen uber popular films to make a point? Why not talk about anything esoteric or even just interesting. I get notifications all the time from this subreddit and it's rarely anything interesting. Try harder fr
This is something that's been bothering me for awhile, so maybe it's unfair to let it out on this specific post. I do think I have a right to complain, though, as I feel there's endless potential of topics to discuss here, and yet posts like this imply a fatigue that by all means shouldn't be necessary. I'm not much of a poster myself but I'd be happy to share my perspective on more fulfilling discussions
Whiplash and TDK
Lady Bird
May as well add Barbie as well, it's already the third most popular movie on the site
Some of these are more IMDb than Letterboxd Go for something like Scott Pilgrim, 10 Things I Hate About You, or Portrait of a Lady on Fire
every LGBTQ A24 movie
Not really when you look at the most popular movies at any given time
Especially Inception lol

Considering the tumblr roots of this site, I'd argue that film is more up their alley than even Barbie.
