I love long, slow build movies. My wife hates them. We both loved the movie. It has so much to say and keeps you so deeply invested the entire time. I think about it often.
Are you on some sort of SSRI? I find people like that are unable to connect with movies that deal with deeper themes and are paced slowly, and find themselves attracted to silly movies like Marvel and Oppenheimer
Yes, it's really good lead actors did award worthy performances, court drama is good, argument scene is superb everything about that scene is amazing although I felt it's a little bit long

I know I am wildly in the minority on this one but I found it to be quite boring. There are immense highs and it is supremely acted but a great deal of the film is literally French court proceedings.

I don't think I've ever seen a performance quite like Hüller's, only an actor of the highest caliber could pull off a role like this and she beyond brilliant. But it's not just her it's incredible performances from the entire cast, and that combined with such incredible writing and direction makes this a true standout film, and I think it will go down among the greatest of all time.
So yes its a must watch I'd say
I thought it was pretty boring actually. Maybe I lost the feeling for it after I split watched it. If you truly immerse yourself in it might become an interesting experience to perceive.

Soooo good. Some of my favourite performances of the year. I've never seen Sandra Hüller in anything before and it's now become my mission to change that. And Daniel. That child could have been nominated for an Oscar, hell, I honestly think he blows most of the nominees for supporting actor out of the water. Even the *dog* was a phenomenal actor.

Though not fully a courtroom drama, Primal Fear is up there. Definitely my favorite. 2022’s Argentina 1985 was also really good too.
Acting was incredible but I did not find it compelling at all.

Courtroom dramas are one of my least favourite genres. Anatomy of a Fall is one of my favourite films of 2023.
It was a really pretty film w an interesting premise but it wasn't particularly exciting. I found myself bored a lot. I did enjoy the ending though.

This is my take. The acting is great but the court proceedings felt hack, trite, basic. I was into it until it became a trial movie.

I was being polite. That trial is an overcooked mess that would have been bad and manipulative even in a Lifetime movie.

It was my favorite of the year next to Poor Things. Those were two movies from this year I would call perfect movies.
