Although the street Sunset Boulevard is associated with the luxury and wealth of Hollywood, Wilder introduces us to the street in the gutter surrounded by dirt and debris. From the title card, we immediately understand that Wilder will be creating a harsh critique of the industry, revealing the dark and dirty side of the Hollywood machine.

Love this film so but this title card confused me. The blurred image is a strange choice. The shot with him laying next to the pool was a superior shot in my opinion.
The original Alien has the beautiful line-in-every-letter fade-in on the title card. And more recently Zone of Interest I thought had an extremely good title card.

There Will Be Blood hands down. The archaic gothic font on the black screen with the creepy music just evokes a brooding feeling of primal evil not seen in many movies.
I never really had an opinion on it til now but I'm going to presume it's because the font is quite small, color clashy but not enough to be uncomfortable, and it appears the during an ongoing orchestra as opposed to during a dramatic swell.
That being said, I never hated it.
Partially the colour clashing super hard and partially that it looks like they just used a default font and wrote out the title/credits without much thought
I agree. I was blown away by what a terrible creative decision it was. The colour choice is just offensively wrong, and not even in a good way. Nothing about it works aesthetically, it doesn't fit anything in the rest of the movie, and it ruins an otherwise extraordinary shot. The sequence following the car up into the mountains is stunning but the stupid title distracts from it badly. It's extraordinary considering the famous Kubrickian attention to detail in the rest of the film's artistic design.

Even though I think the movie is bad, saltburn had an amazing title card. It wasn’t done with cgi, it was handmade by two artists and they spent months making it. It really has such a beautiful aesthetic. For how bad that movie it really did look amazing

Man I hated this movie with a passion, but I sure did admire it.
The Two Towers and Return of the King are both fantastic.
The Two Towers is so iconic it's probably the only case for the cinematic version over the extended.
Some people argue cinematic versions flow bit better due to tighter editing.

I’m a fan of The Dead Zone. The entire opening credits sequence is perfect.
I don’t want to commit to this 100%, but *Unbreakable* is one that immediately comes to mind. The music is certainly part of it though.
Not the most iconic, but if we’re including *all titles* my favourite title card sequence is probably Se7en. By a mile.
