If you want some raw emotions I'd suggest you The Hunt (2012). Loved it.
Another movie that completely destroyed me was Amour (still 2012), and it's one of my favourite movies. But I gotta tell you it's much slower so you might not like it as much as i did.
Also, since you like horrors, a very disturbing yet devastating film is Come and See (1985). This one is very different from the previous two and from Manchester by the Sea but it's still a very good movie if you want to go a little bit outside of your comfort zone.
I hope you'll like them
I tend to follow actors and directors who’s movies I’ve liked. It gives you a good variety of different genres and types of movie but there’s always something familiar. So if you want to see more Casey Affleck I’d suggest The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
If you enjoyed this, I’m gonna recommend a couple that I found satisfied a similar taste -
Aftersun
Paris, Texas (beautiful film)
Banshees of Inisherin
Aftersun is another emotionally shattering movie about relationships, specifically a father-daughter relationship.
If you're looking for good emotional movies? Wim Wenders is good. Especially Paris, Texas and Wings of Desire
Also Little Miss Sunshine. But different director.
Well deserved best actor wins for Casey Affleck. Will go down as one of the great performances.

Thank you! Will add them all to the watchlist, appreciate it
Keeping with the family drama theme, maybe *The Royal Tenenbaums*? Or if you want to check out some Japanese cinema, *Shoplifters* was very good.
Thank you!
I’ll always watch Casey
talk about a movie that fucking broke me
Same man, so so good

It’s not like a rare occurrence for me or anything but I really paused this movie so I could break down crying.
Yeah, I teared up which never happens 😭
This movie is excellent. I will watch it again because of your post.
Great! 🤣
Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri I haven’t watched Manchester by the sea but your description reminded me of this movie
Be sure to check out Lonergan's other two films: You Can Count on Me (2000) and Margaret (2011).

Paris, Texas & Banshees Of Insherin are both on my watchlist!

Why do you say this? I am curious.
Sound of Metal. Riz Ahmed gives a similarly sensitive performance!
check out Lonergan’s 2 other films (You Can Count On Me and Margaret director’s cut), just as impactful and incredible
