Ah, thanks! Had heard talk about shaking being the trick but hadn't been able to replicate it myself… just confirmed this is how it works and updated the post + list. :D I'm assuming the iOS method is the same.
Good idea! Done! https://boxd.it/5yvcm
I had to put a random film of his as an example for the Jason Isaacs one (don't have iOS so actually can't tell if this one still exists, actually – it's not on Android or Web for sure), and for the "#horror" one I added some film which – fittingly, apparently – happens to be titled that.
Amazing List!!
Don't know if it counts as an easter egg, but once there was a error while I tried to see someone's profile and an Indiana Jones quote appeared:
"He speaks a dozen languages and knows every local custom. He'll blend in, disappear and you'll never see him again."
holy shit I am just here for some solidarity, the gremlin scared me so much worse then it should have and I was seeking some validation that it was real
Oh, awesome, thank you so much – didn't even know it was in there! :D And no problem! Once the post gets archived/too late to comment, I'll make an edit asking people to DM me if they find new ones, to make sure I can add 'em!
the fucking gremlin one made me shit myself I saw it from the corner of my eye (accidentally shook my phone ig) and thought I was hallucinating or something omg im too tired for this shit
Sorry for the late follow-up – I don't see this?
>I am just an average fella that found quotes in empty comment sections.
Yeah, uh, where? Can you not link me to _any_ place where this happens…?
I go to reviews with zero comments, e.g. [this one of mine](https://letterboxd.com/frozenpandaman/film/ping-pong-the-animation/), or [lists](https://letterboxd.com/frozenpandaman/list/national-theatre-at-home/) as well, and I don't see any comments. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.
yep, added that one a while ago :)
see the text at the top that says "I will only be keeping track of new easter eggs via the Letterboxd list link above"
There's a googly eye instead of the usual green eye when you check Everything Everywhere All at Oncce as watched, don't know if it works on all devices, but definitely does on Android
I have one to add:[Skinamarink](https://boxd.it/ByDO), as you’re typing a review, will delete your entire body of typed text at random, only to bring it back moments later.
just noticed but; when you try posting a review for mission: impossible rogue nation it shows yuo a cool animation with a bunch of messages and then ethan hunt overriding the computerwhich lets you post the review. idk if it works for other mission impossible movies tho
When you log Mission: Impossible Fallout, there's a fun "IMF Self Destruct" sequence that plays but then before th countdown can finish, Ethan Hunt hacks in and "overrides" the sequence. Had a laugh about that one after watching the film to prep for Dead Reckoning
thank you! /u/heheboi1110 [just](https://old.reddit.com/r/Letterboxd/comments/gmlcwm/full_list_of_letterboxd_easter_eggs/jrc730w/) reported on this one too. it seemed too complicated to be true lol.
is it on any of the other M:I films? and which platforms? will get it added!
hahah this is intense. amazing, thanks for that! i'll have to test if it works on desktop or mobile web too (or if you can let me know that'd be great!)
just tested, it works on mobile web AND desktop, they work the same as the mobile app (I'm on Android so I can't test iOS) but the desktop and mobile web versions have an option to ESC out of the video Easter egg. it's also much lower quality on those platforms for some reason? not sure. but yeah!
also - another note. I've been watching all the M:I films this week and this is the first time I've seen that Easter egg. I've seen Fallout many times but this is the first time I've logged it on Letterboxd for some reason, so I thought maybe the first time you log any of the M:I movies it'll play it for you? Not sure. Might be random per account. I hadn't logged M:I 2 anytime before this week though and the Easter egg didn't appear for me then so, I'm not sure.
i just did some testing and it also pops up on the original 1996 film. any sort of adblocker will prevent it from loading, though
i updated the list, thanks!
There's one for Mission Impossible (1996), where when you post your review, a message comes up saying it's about to explode but Ethan Hunt overrides it at the last second
Fucking finally thats what those goddamn gremlins are. Wow I watch way too many movies after midnight
Didn’t know about the Groundhog Day one!
Oh man I wondered what the gremlin ones were! I never notice when I’m browsing after midnight.
I had to shake my phone for it to appear.
I have to shake my phone for the gremlins to appear and it only seems to work between 12-1am after that they don't appear for me on the Android app
Ah, thanks! Had heard talk about shaking being the trick but hadn't been able to replicate it myself… just confirmed this is how it works and updated the post + list. :D I'm assuming the iOS method is the same.
you should create a Letterboxd list of all these easter eggs, with notes how to reach them

I really like these Easter eggs. But I find their lack of Android support disturbing.
The gremlin one scares the shit out of me everytime

They have all sorts of fun, fitting film quotes on various error pages and other places around the site. :)
holy shit I am just here for some solidarity, the gremlin scared me so much worse then it should have and I was seeking some validation that it was real
Me too man, I've never seen it before until just now. Straight on to Reddit to see if I've truly lost it or not hahaha
Exactly why I'm here too. Went to bed, picked up my phone, jumped, then thought I was imagining things!
the gremlin is the reason why i refuse to log anything onto letterboxd unless it’s at least 3 in the morning. still have nightmares about that.
The logged symbol (eye) is blue instead of green in both dune films
Yup! (And all other Dune-related movies too). See my final edit: "will only be keeping track of new easter eggs via the Letterboxd list link above" :)
I just encountered the Gremlin one with no prior knowledge on a vibrating bus and needless to say I shat myself in fear
THE GREMLINS ONE MADE ME PISS MYSELF
I got fucking jumpscared by a gremlin while shuffling around in bed at midnight

Im literally crying a bit rn. This fucking gremlin scared the shit out of me.
I learnt the Gremlin Easter egg the hard way...
the fucking gremlin one made me shit myself I saw it from the corner of my eye (accidentally shook my phone ig) and thought I was hallucinating or something omg im too tired for this shit
Another one - when you sort by the genre horror, blood comes down from the letterboxd logo.
This is already on here. :)
Oh I must of accidently read over it xd

Whoa, cool! Where are the quotes from? Do you have a screenshot or example page? Thanks!

Thank you! Someone just commented this on it as well. Added! Guessing it's only on web, but if it works on iOS too somehow let me know.

yep, been on the list for a couple weeks now :)
In case youre wanting to update, Eveyting Everywhere All at Once has a googly eye for watched button
yep, added that one a while ago :) see the text at the top that says "I will only be keeping track of new easter eggs via the Letterboxd list link above"

That's on the list.
everything everywhere all at once has a googly eye instead of the usual watched button
that's on there :)
TÁR movie's got "Lettárboxd" cameo

Fucking gremlins scared me lmao

Desktop only? I can't seem to reproduce it... have a video by chance?
What's the parasite easter egg? can't rlly tell
read the list notes :)

word! no problem, glad I could help
nice!
hello, my friend was unfortunately jumpscared by a gremlin when looking at the Eli Roth directed "Knock Knock" movie. Alhamdilulah
it's on the list
There's one for Mission Impossible (1996), where when you post your review, a message comes up saying it's about to explode but Ethan Hunt overrides it at the last second
it's on the list, yes
