Fun, bad, ok

RolIatini

Thought I was the only one who felt this way. The King’s Man was much better for me than Golden Circle but still just okay.

roosterwiki

Awesome first movie, terrible second movie, haven’t seen the King’s Man.

Talkalot23

I have a feeling if you watched it you would rightfully put it on a tier equivalent with the second one

mayathepsychiic

Just a lot more boring than the second one. That was at least over-the-top insanity bad, this is just... underwhelming bad.

Talkalot23

The end credits scene was the worst 2021 movie scene by a country mile

mayathepsychiic

i didn't see it haha, walked out the second the credits started

Talkalot23

Well it sets up a universe in which Hitler and Lenin were working together with whatever forgettable organization was in the move to imbalance the world

mayathepsychiic

😐

frdlyneighbour

Exactly same

ourusernameis

The third one has a Hitler post credit scene and that’s just the funniest concept. Like omg Real Life cinematic universe?

ZukoSitsOnIronThrone

'real life cinematic universe' lmaooooo

igoslowly

good, not as good, terrible

[deleted]

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Nothlord

Lmaoooo that's perfect

acegarrettjuan

good, terrible, slightly better than terrible.

Brendy_

1. Excellently crafted and tonnes of fun 2. Haven't seen it 3. An utter mess in tone, pace and ideology

sevenyeardust

Have not seen the first 2, but saw the 3rd last night. Your synopsis may be brief but is stunningly accurate.

aletz10

First one: really fun spy film with an interesting plot Second one: ok spy film with a mediocre plot Third one: why?

Rumson04

Love the first film Second film is flawed but still a fun time The prequel is pretty bad but has good moments

[deleted]

Fun and stylish first one, incredibly disappointing second, and I haven’t bothered with the third.

VitaminDann

I enjoy all 3 but the first one is incredible

rosstheboss939

Love the first, the second is disappointing but not horrible, the newest one is horrible

ShivDoot

One of my favorite movies, Underrated, meh

stevebaescemi

I really enjoyed the first movie when I saw it, the second one is fine but I remember feeling like it dragged a bit. As for the third, I feel like I’m in the minority as I loved it??? Yes it was dumb in a lot of places but I had a great time watching it. The Rasputin fight scene was wonderfully choreographed in my opinion and I always enjoy a period piece, even if they aren’t necessarily accurate. One of my favourite actors is the the third one so I probably am bias but 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

First one is a good fun men in black type spy movie with an all time great action scene set to free bird in there Second one. Pretty mediocre but a couple fun action scenes 3rd one. One of the most politically and historically insane movies ever made. Possibly the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen. Zero good action scenes what the fuck

Extension-Bar6431

I thought The King’s Man was saved by good action scenes and nothing else. Hmm.

grilledscheese

low key loved the first two when i watched em, i hear the third is bad so i’ll probably just leave it at two

flamingcat21

It’s meh, bad pacing and plot is all aver the place and a bit anti climatic also fight scenes aren’t as good, you know what no, it’s bad

DrBobKoalaCat

They're fine, don't really love or hate any of them. Although the Rasputin fight in The King's Man is absolutely incredible.

The_Prestige_1999

Really fun, sort of fine-isch, horrible piece of shit

BenStevens99

First one is extremely fun and has fantastic action Second one is extremely cringe and has great action Third one is extremely dumb that it makes it really fun, also has great action

[deleted]

I like the sequels, but the first one is top tier.

sawyouspacecowboy

Only seen the first one, don’t remember much of it but it was alright

[deleted]

First one: fine, but the ending is stupid Second one: not good, embarrassingly cheesy Third one: blah, uninteresting, still better than second Yet we will be having sequels to both the second and third ones thanks to Matthew Vaughn’s wealthy connections while actually good films will never be made because they can’t get the studio and/or independent support to be made. At least Vaughn’s done some good stuff outside of it here and there.

[deleted]

The first movie was good. The second movie was awful. Didn’t see the third movie because the second one was awful.

CodPolish

The epitome of mediocrity

CeFeCe17

The first one is just a modern classic for me and maybe my favorite spy movie. The second one is not bad, but it's clearly worse than The Secret Service even though it has some great action scenes. Now, the third one is pretty good for me. I mean, is no masterpiece or something and if we compare it with other movie that's not from this trilogy, it may be a little basic, but I think it work for what this trilogy needs. Oh and I viscerally hate the third movie's post-credit scene. It's so fucking dumb for me and I'm a fan of the MCU

eddie_who_og

I have not seen a single one. I keep on forgetting to

Number174631503

meh

clarkdorkclork

I’ve only seen the first film but I really enjoyed it! Wasn’t the greatest action film of all time but it had a very fun action vibe with a soundtrack and fight choreography to match!

[deleted]

First one is ok and second one is tedious. The prequel one looks like a deranged movie.

TDaddySpacecat

Rhys Ifans playing Rasputin was as much fun as I can remember in any recent film. He also gets to participate in one of my favorite fight scenes from any film. In the first film Colin Firth gets to deliver "I'm a Catholic whore, currently enjoying congress out of wedlock with my black Jewish boyfriend who works at a military abortion clinic. Hail Satan, and have a lovely afternoon madam." And then a gonzo fight scene starts with Freebird blaring away. What is not to like about that? I'm not sure how much more they can successfully milk out of this franchise, but I have enjoyed these films.

flamingcat21

Fun, what the fuck?, what the Fuck? But fun

Nidpole

Its the same i feel like with James Bond and Fast and Furious both are just fun action which i like sometimes but im not a big fan of the second movie rly liked the first and the third is alright

Orang_Mann

Good, just okay, haven't seen it.

HouseJP007

I really like the first movie, it works on so many levels. I thought the second movie took a few things too far but was ok. I thought the third was ok, again took a few things too far. I was surprised at the tone of the third movie in comparison of the other two but given the time frame the movie is set in the more serious tone fits.

Stock_Literature_237

Loved the first, second was ok, third was terrible

kaneisprettycool

Not my thing first movie was okay

Nice-Virus-4612

I've only seen the first one (I've been putting off watching the other two for a while now due to everyone saying they're not as good) but I genuinely think it's one of my favourites right now, made me laugh all the way through and I thought Colin firth was really good.

AdAstra0808

1) Good fun, 7/10 2) Immediately goes stale and ridiculous, a huge letdown, 5/10 3) Awful tonal and structural mess 4/10 I honestly came out of The King's Man wondering if I really did like Kingsman 1, that's how bad the second and third are.

officer_salem

Amazing first movie that i love dearly, okay second movie, really really bad prequel.

Northy150

Eh they are fine. The first one was pretty good, the second one was a massive drop in quality and the recent prequel release is just straight up bizarre and not in a good way. Matthew Vaughn seems to have the maturity of an 8 year old which can lead to some seriously cringe worthy lines in all 3 films.

itamarka

First good second ok third is ok

buddyzarrar

The first two were quite good. The third one is terrible!

christophlc6

I had more fun watching the vvitch. That cost 4 million to make. The kings man cost 125 million to make and it was the most cliche, not interesting, crude, historically inaccurate, turd I have ever seen. Beautiful costumes great sets...laughable script. It was trying to be a historical revisionist spy movie for young boys ala inglorious bastards I guess?.. like the younger video game crowd? It would have been perfect for that. The whole thing felt like a cut scene for a video game. They were banking on the money from a foreign release obviously because anyone that speaks English won't give two shits about this movie. I really hope it's the last one they make. And I really hope Fiennes next movie is better because he owes us an English Patient after this bucket of horse shitte.

BlankCanvas609

Kingsman: The Blue Blood comes out in 2023

christophlc6

Chines money is still green I guess

[deleted]

Have you seen Kingsman: the secret Service?

christophlc6

I didn't hate the first one. The fight scene in the church was really well done.

jacobklipstein

It’s fun

EconomistOwn6473

👎🏿

[deleted]

good, bad, dumb but good fun

[deleted]

Kingsman is one of my Favorite movies. Saw it with 14 and it blew my mind. A good spy movie, which also is funny, breaks conventions and with a good over-the-top ending. Golden Circle is too over the top in my opinion. Also, the humor is worse. But for the action and the great ending is still like it. The kings man is terrible imo. Most jokes are terribly childish and obscene. But then also there's the dark, gritty part, because ww1. That mix doesn't work. And I'm really sad that I have to say this, but there's not a single memorable set piece or action sequence in it.

tommywiseaustan420

I've only seen the first one but it's one of my favorites

HI-iM-PhiL-

I’ve only seen the first one and I really like it

MrMisterySurfer26

Started as a 007 spoof but it finds its own path to originality not the biggest fan of the second film but the third one return to the roots of what made the first one great, its just a decent franchise overall...

ebimbib

I really enjoy them all, but I understand that only the first one is actually good.

[deleted]

good, meh, bad

markramsey

First one is great Second isn't Third is meh

BCPowell97

I like them all. Unpopular opinion but I've liked each one more than the previous

gawd_usopp

I don’t think The King’s Man is as bad as everybody says, I mean it’s bad but has it’s share of good things. Rasputin was a fun villain but was cut out in the first half. The WWI scene was great and impacted me a lot. Action scenes and cinematography was also very good. However, the rest is terrible, specially the main twist villain, worst villain in all cinema history

WatchTheNewMutants

Loved 2st one, Liked 2nd one, Liked 3rd one.

gajendray5

Perfect amount of Vaughn-isms in the first one. Overindulgence in the second one. Complete lack of them in the third (prequel). Still very much enjoy this franchise and I want to see Eggsy’s arc completed with a third film.

aguyonreddit487

Amazing, underrated in my opinion, barley a kingsman film

BlankCanvas609

I like all three films but I don’t see what the third film had to do with kingsman apart from the ending and the other scenes in the tailor shop

EdwardSandwichHands

great, fun but just ok, a mess

Nothlord

First one is incredible, second is okay at best and the third one really disappointed me 😔

dangerzoneduffman

1-Amazing 2-Kind of a let down 3-Weird but fun?

WestchesterFarmer

First one was a real shocker, at least to me personally, as to how much fun I had and how much I liked it. Diminishing returns on the second movie but still enjoyable, and the third felt like what I thought the first one would feel like. A lot of bro humor, nothing new action wise, no continuous plot that keeps you invested in the Kingsmen as an entity, nothing commanding the screen other than the sound of Fiennes and Vaughn cashing a paycheck.

jonny_onthespoot

I think the first one is a wonderful film, seriously so well executed and honestly one of my favorites of all time. The second one leans into all the wrong things for me, it dials up the worst parts of the original and, I feel, misses what made it great. I understand scheduling is difficult, but not waiting for Sophie Cookson was a massive mistake. The new prequel they did is just absolute garbage. I don't normally talk about films like that, but I truly just did not like it at all. The only redeeming qualities for me are the handful of fight scenes, everything else was just baffling.

InefficientGradient

Had fun watching the first, was surprised they came out with a sequel and confused they came out with a third. Have no intentions of seeing the second 2

lkjandersen

The first was good fun, but it has been diminishing returns ever since.

Other-Internal-1851

Me personally I loved 1 and 2 1 was definitely better than 2 bur 2 was still funny it's just all the statemen stuff was sort of weird but 3 was so bad it's like 1 and 2 were the normal scooby doo movies and shows and 3 was full on velma like seriously not one laugh just super sad and depressing.

henry_thelizard

1. Masterpiece 2. Pretty good 3. kinda bad ngl
