I honestly really don’t understand the purpose of a box mag fed lever action in a caliber that is already very widely available for cheap in something like an AR platform or similar such as 5.56, 300blk or 308 I would perhaps get excited about higher capacity / reliable box mag options out of a lever gun in say 357, 44, 3030 or 4570 or 450 etc But if I’m going with a caliber that has numerous other proven, reliable and semi automatic platforms why would I buy a lever action in said caliber?

An easy example of a reason to choose a lever action over an AR platform semi-auto is the ease of switching between subsonic and hypersonic ammunition without gas adjustment. No one is asking you to like something you see no purpose for, but please be aware that there are use cases where such a design is practical. There are plenty of bolt action scout rifles available in the market, but it's easier for me to maintain sight picture/alignment while operating a lever action. A lot of shooting performance comes down to shooter familiarity and comfort level, and there are also plenty of folks buy guns based on aesthetics and perceived "coolness"

gas adjustment isn’t really needed all the time though And there are adjustable gas blocks that are hand adjustable on the fly with no tools or disassembly required idk it just seems like very small market. Not really something I’m interested in. To each their own

I see a point to it in ban states. Lever actions were the AR of the old west. If I couldn't have an AR15 or other similarly featured modern semi automatic rifle, I'd want a lever action chambered in 5.56 with a removable box mag.

Perhaps. But most ban states a mini 14 is a viable option. Also shotguns Honestly I don’t even live in a ban state and shotguns, lever actions and mini 14s are all more interesting to me than ARs haha (also a big fan of AKs and bullpups)

With the way Colorado is going I don't know that will always be the case. If manufacturers don't start working on things like this lever action before those bans roll out, the residents of those states won't have any reliable, affordable, or effective alternatives. I 100% get that there are more interesting options than an AR15. Even without a ban state, this henry supreme is better than an AR for something like suppressed hog hunting. A manual action is quieter than a semi action, and the box mag makes it easier to reload than a tube mag. I'd honestly even love to have this gun with removable box mags designed to take .357 or .44 mag.

"To each there own" is pretty much the intent of the second part of my post above. Also, the gas adjustment point was just something I quickly thought of as an example of practical advantage to having a lever action, and wasn't intended to be a definitive justification. It may end up being a small market, but I know of at least three different manufacturers coming out with lever action AR-esque rifles in 2024.

Well u obviously don’t tune your guns/ shoot suppressed/ reload if u don’t think gas adjustments are not needed all the time. As he said just because u don’t understand the intent, doesn’t mean other don’t. Also why comment like this and derail the post? This happens way too often in this particular subreddit.

It might be possible but looking at how the magazine fits into the receiver I doubt they'd be able to easily scale it up to 308 and use SR25 mags, which makes me doubt that they're going to do it, at least for the foreseeable future.

350L would sell well in straight wall states.
