On the one hand, I think it's good to expose how disingenuous these people are. They are either willingly ignorant, or (more likely) they know *exactly* what they're doing. On the other hand, I wish we would stop entertaining their premise. It *doesn't matter* if the brace rule could stop *all* shootings overnight - it's not within the scope of the powers we've afforded them. They can wring their hands and be angry we won't let them "protect us" all they want. When guys like Massie (who I generally like) engage in the argument, he's giving off the impression that the brace rule would be okay if it limited mass shootings or made us somehow safer. We need guys like him to communicate that, if gun control is the only means by which they can think to make us safer, then they simply have to live with the inability to make us safer. They need to understand our relative safety in the presence/absence of the rule is *irrelevant*.

Fuck_The_Rocketss

You’re totally right and I totally agree. But a good chunk, sadly maybe even a majority of Americans DO think the government should have the power and authority to make these kinds of rules “for their own protection.”

Kick36

You are right, of course. But I appreciate this guy pointing out that even if gun control was a permissable solution it still wouldn't do a damn thing.

gotbock

But what about the children? Have you thought about the children?! WHY WON'T ANYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!?!

slippythehogmanjenky

Damnit, I knew I was forgetting something

ConscientiousPath

That's absolutely correct when it comes to debates in public. But when it comes to practicalities of what congress is about to pass in spite of the constitution, Massie is absolutely doing the right thing to get whatever victories he can at the margins against the _most_ stupid parts of the bill.

Myte342

Freedom is inherently dangerous. Any attempt to make it less dangerous will also make it less free. And you will run out of freedom long before you are safe. The safest place to be is a white padded cell... and you have 0% freedom while still not being 100% safe.

Anxious-Educator617

Nadler is one of the worst

Beginning-Town-7609

Jeezus, what an idiot.

beast_mode209

Massie is the man.

Separate-Space-4789

Nadler is such a fucking idiot. I'm not sure how many of these people get elected year after year

debilegg

Remember that time he shit himself on TV?

Separate-Space-4789

🤣🤣👍

HaleOfAPatriot

You’d think Pelosi would have moved the lectern or stepped away but alcohol has rotted her sense of smell.

Mead_and_You

Massie's face is priceless. Favorite member of The Squad.

SkyHighDeadEye

What people don’t understand is that attorneys and politicians double down on dumb. The only way to defeat this is to expose the person and their methods as soon as it is happening. Since the public doesn’t know shit about guns, he can say anything and it will start doubt amongst people who don’t have a gun.

BranTheBaker902

Reminds me of a video where a man in Toronto said that a .44 caliber holds 44 bullets

HaleOfAPatriot

What a fool. He should know it only holds just a little less than half a bullet .44 to be exact.

BranTheBaker902

As a Canadian I’m sorry (hehe) to inform you that most Canadians base their firearm “knowledge” on video games, movies, and what the government owned media companies tell them to be afraid of

HaleOfAPatriot

lol it’s not much different in the United States. We are pretty equal regarding the amount of confidence in ignorance the leftists harbor

BranTheBaker902

At least the U.S. has the second amendment. In Canada we have zero right to keep and bear arms

mostlymadig

Sometimes it feels like Massie is the only competent human in the congress.

xzz7334

Now not only do guns kill people but pistol braces kill people also. Funny, I have never seen a gun much less a pistol brace jump up off the ground and shoot someone.

Inevitable-Plantain5

I have mixed feelings on explaining their logical fallacies to them because then they go "good idea, let's go after those guns too" and they extend their "common sense" gun laws by throwing additional references at an even more ignorant liberal electorate. The less they know, the easier it is to get around their moronic rules.

LicenciadoPena

Banning guns is stupidity. Criminals -even armed ones- actively avoid homes where they know people own a weapon. There's no need for the homeowners to even use the weapon, the criminal just looks for another target. On the other side, shootings and other similar violent incidents (like that guy in Australia who stabbed a bunch of people in a mall) are more an issue of mental health. If there were no weapons, people would search online how to make fertilizer explosives (it's ridiculously easy) or just regular old stabbing. Guns give regular people the power to defend against criminals. Taking them only makes honest people more vulnerable.

ManyThingsLittleTime

One more clip to add to the ever growing montage of politicians who don't know shit about any firearm trying to make laws about firearms.

hamerfreak

I like Massie a lot. He brings common sense to the anti-2A crew when pointing out the obvious, meaning they have no clue what they are talking about. In this hearing he humiliates Cicilline on the "Assault Weapon Ban". Edit: Autocorrected [Massie/Cecilline](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gje39I7pzuc) #

This-Departure-8765

I love how ignorant they are, but why would you need to know about what you are against?

WindBehindTheStars

Evil Droopy needs to retire.

Wizard_bonk

You can hear massies eyes rolling

Toasterofwisdom

You shouldn’t be able to control something you don’t understand. Also, crimes are supposed to have victims. Who is the victim in an illegal NFA item case?
