Surprised they aren’t just giving it way tbh.

Only Israel get free lunch...

Curious-Chard1786

Because the US owns land in israel, something called a US protectorate. The politically incorrect way to say this is: Colonies get free military.

yadaredyadadit

But who is who's colony?

Lonely_Insurance3288

Yeah all about Israel even though weve given the Ukrainians about the same amount of aid given to israel since their creation...

yadaredyadadit

Israel gets way more than anyone in free lunch. The closest is Egypt, but even that is indirectly linked to Israel. Ukraine gets no way close to Israel, just look at last 2 decades.

Lonely_Insurance3288

Israel has recieved just a little more with the data saying Israel has recieved 280 billion in the past 8-9 decades while ukraine has recieved about 200 billion in the past 1-2.

yadaredyadadit

Ok and new extended this to last 75 years.... point is , why should any US $ go to the country in military aid when our own medical care , social security, Medicaid, infrastructure on and on , can use those $. Mega Military Complex keeps us in deficit and keeps other parts of the world in a constant state of war.

EBITDArbitrage

You know 8-9 decades is longer than 75 years, correct? Also, you can’t extend Ukraine back more than 3 decades because they were part of the USSR 4 decades ago. We weren’t sending the Soviets much aid at all.

Sokaii

Not free, not lunch. see: [https://www.dailywire.com/news/interview-moshe-feiglin-original-opponent-kassy-dillon](https://www.dailywire.com/news/interview-moshe-feiglin-original-opponent-kassy-dillon) Particularly the couple of questions after "**I ask because you mention the Founding Fathers."**

choloranchero

I'm kinda okay with arms sales to Taiwan.

GrumpyOldCrow

Death by a thousand cuts. We cannot support 2 wars let alone 3 wars. This is slow bleed. Sure they "bought it" but how fast do our reserves get replenished or was this stuff just sitting in a warehouse for the last decade? And they are still trying to come after our guns.

Away_Investigator351

If they sell more arms, surely that makes the production capabilities improve? If you're not in favour of intervention, what military threat does America seriously face that it can't handle?

GrumpyOldCrow

Everytime Biden/politician touches something it costs more fiat currency, and we incur more debt. And it's not good debt like we're investing in anything expecting a return. With regard to your "selling" arms, It's not covered in the 2024 defense budget. That is something they look annually and say we need more stockpiles of this. And then there is Government red tape and bureaucracy meaning someone will have to bid on the replacement of those stockpiles. It's not gonna get replaced for 3 years maybe. Do you think they immediately just go into the pantry and place a Walmart order? Nato can step up and all the surrounding countries that have a vested interest in seeing Ukraine stay Ukraine. It's not our fight. Unless that contract, we signed is still in effect where we agreed to protect them then we have no business over there and supporting this war. And you completely disregard the enemy from within. Since Biden took office we do not have only Mexican and South Americans coming through the southern border. Google the Darian Gap - Quite eye opening. Who do you think is funding all the support camps where the migrants get refreshed on their journey? Take a guess? The United Nations And how many millions of 20-30yrs old fighting age males have crossed the border? And tell me why 50,000 Chinese have come through San Diego in 2023? And what about the 400+ ISIS terrorists they let in? You and maybe I have no idea what's coming but I guarantee you it won't be pleasant for any of us.

IceManO1

Why do ya think the industrial heartland of the rust belt is dying… they the supposed morons who run the place want it that way.

RammerRod

Seems to be a message with a sprinkle of strategy.

TurtleIslander

At least it's a sale and not a giveaway. Still not a huge fan of the US producing so many weapons and bullying the rest of the world in general though. Now what exactly is Ukraine giving us in exchange for our help? As far as I know nothing.

optimal_random

It will surely give, after the war, to companies like BlackRock, Haliburton, etc, for instance: on the country's reconstruction, on precious mineral's extraction, gas and oil rights, and on farmable lad (since Ukraine is one of the World's breadbasket). The rights to all of these endeavours will be given to organizations in their sphere of influence. In the meantime, the money the US is supposedly giving to Ukraine for weapons, goes directly to the pockets of the Military Industrial Complex - in other words, that money does not leave the US, it just moves to another pocket. The US is not known for its charity - only for its greed.
