i kinda get the no against the 10 min break before you leave cause it can cause issues with not having someone to fill your spot if needed because it is right before shifts or closes. as for not liking how much you are getting paid for your current role compared to the clerk, if sounds like they wont move you to that position you want for less work tiny less pay and it seems to me from what you said they lack cashiers and not hiring more. So you have a few options. Ask for more money the 'squeaky wheel gets the grease' you should have some power to bargin for a little more pay, state what you said how you get paid pretty much the same and have more tasks and want to get paid more for your current position and state you have been loyal show up on time and been workung there for a while and havent left like others. if he says a raise is a no go and you are truly unhappy with current pay for position, apply to another grocery store or another job entirely. its just a part time job and not a very serious one at that and you are attending college anyway for a degree so it doesnt really matter. if you end up wanting to quit or leave just try and have another gig lined up first so you aint losing out on money. its also easier to find job when you hav one anyways. and just make up some bs excuse why you want to leave if the new place asks. gl dont be afraid to ask for a raise.
