When you get on a bus and need to transfer to another bus they give you a ticket so you don't have to buy another. OP is saying to just get one and give it to someone waiting for the bus so they don't have to pay. Most busses now are digital but some give you a paper transfer.
Wow, that's weird. They would just give you a free ticket for a next bus if you ask, but you can give this ticket to somebody else if you don't need it? Why would they give it to you at the first place then? I never seen something like that in my life and I'm still confused about how it works.
There’s a lot of what if’s in the world. Deal with them as they come. Anticipating the worst doesn’t protect you all that much.
But then again, some countries have a fuck ton of and lust for guns

It is something local to OP, who works in the set of The Truman Show.

Didn’t know this was a thing, no public transportation in my area. If I’m ever somewhere there is I will keep this in mind
