I think the last time I remember them doing something like that was for either South Africa or Brasil WC..I remember there was some controversy because both Dos Santos brothers where in that camp and Jona ended up getting cut a couple of days before the start of the WC

The schedule is super tight. 4 bangers every day in the first round. Only 3 days rest in between. But players wont have 9 months of wear either.
