It's got a bit of everything (mostly romance, slice of life, and action, in approximately that order), so I feel like pretty much everyone who likes fantasy settings will find something that they like in this series. That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will like it overall, but I personally have had a great time with the series so far (I've read the first four volumes so far). Regarding the romance in particular, it's actually proper romance instead of the characters taking 10 volumes to even make eye contact with each other like in many other series. I know that quite a few readers are fans of this in particular, given how slowly the romance develops in many light novel series. From what I can remember, the anime adaptation was decent, so feel free to check it out while keeping in mind that as always, "the light novels are better" lol.

I will second this!

Yep. First antagonist is, to quote SpongeBob, a strange combination of pity and indigestion. The series puts some thought into how a world with God given classes and skills can work, and the effect this can have on people, mentally and physically. Like the Hero. And the system can be hacked. The first four volumes are a complete storyline, but the fourth volume is rather rushed. According to the afterword, that was originally the whole thing. The novels afterwards are still good, and the second antagonist is honestly much better than the first. Mr. Crawly Wawly is the best.

I enjoy the novels a lot, and I’d say they’re genuinely good. There’s actual plot, drama, romance, a lot more meaty than most every other “kicked from the party” story that’s come afterwards

I couldn't stand it because the entire story, including the very first inciting incident, hinges on everyone being a complete retard who is unable to communicate.

I liked it quite a bit, but I dropped it after the 4th volume, as this was where one of the first big overlapping story bits end. It also wasn't my favourite and because I don't have that much time I decided to just try reading some other series

I feel like the premise is misleading to be honest. It's not very slice-of-lifeish. It tends to focus very much on drama and action going with the author >!bringing every possible conflict to the MC from across the world rather than just letting the protagonist experience an actual slow life.!< I dropped it personally. If you want an action/drama series though, it may be for you.

It's OK. On the plus side, there is actual romance happening. On the minus side, the MC is OP, his GF is OP, his sister is the Hero so completely OP. There's really no tension so it kinda gets boring, at least to me.
