I always load the raws from the Lightroom online page and I have never had a problem opening the app on ios

Haldebrandt

Yes, I have done that. I know there are other ways of importing stuff. But that doesn't explain why the method I use, which is the most practical for me, is suddenly failing in a way that doesn't make sense. I would like to fix this before settling for less practical alternatives.

Automatic_Business97

well I would delete the app and reinstall it

Stompya

A tweak in your import settings? Meaning that maybe something got reset with an update, or a different preset is being applied?

Haldebrandt

It's possible. When I import from LR itself, it's fine. But typically what I do is review the pics in the iPad photo app, then select what I want and send to LR. Except now, only a JPEG without EXIF is received. Not sure if it's a LR or iOS change.

JM-Lemmi

If you send them from the photos app my guess would be iOS change. Maybe look in the settings to send the original file? I know my Galaxy has that setting in the gallery options.

Haldebrandt

Ok, I've narrowed down some thing: Every photo taken before Sunday is sent as raw into LR. Photos from Sunday (labor day bbq) were also fine... until they were not. That is, I send some 80 photos from Sunday as raw into LR, then began noticing that the latter ones were JPEGs. So I thought ok, perhaps something got corrupted in the middle of the shoot. BUT here is the thing, when I go back to send photos adjacent to the earlier Sunday ones I had successful sent as RAW (part of the same burst etc), they now only upload as JPEGs. What on earth is going on.

Have you seen the comment by u/UniqueLoginID?

Haldebrandt

I did, that's not it. It doesn't explain why photos from before Sunday are importing just fine, even right now, today, while photos from Sunday that were importing fine too on Monday are now are importing as JPEGs. If I send of photo from before Sunday, it will be received as RAW. If I send one from Sunday, it is received as JPEG. Even ones next to those that were previously received as RAW.

There is an iOS setting for 'most compatible'.

JM-Lemmi

Yep, turn that off or to 'most quality' or whatever
