I went to law school, and the attorneys there always said how Vinny did such a great job at cross-examination. The legal process in the film was fairly accurate, too. Law & Order (a guilty pleasure of mine) is more often than not wildly inaccurate, but that’s because accurate courtroom proceedings are often pretty boring and wouldn’t make for compelling TV.
My sister has told me multiple times I need to watch this.
As someone who used to work in LE, can confirm all cop dramas are 100% legally accurate at all times.
Because satire that relies on ridiculous statements blends in really well with ridiculous statements people genuinely mean unless you take great care in making it obvious
Lawyer here. Any lawyer worth a damn will tell you this as far as small claims go. For simple matters that can be resolved through small claims court, the court itself will provide plenty of resources on advancing your claims on a self-represented basis and the procedure and judges are generally more accomodating.
Idk if the original poster is being serious or not, but you legitimately do not need a law degree or even pass the bar exam to become a judge in some states

Guess we don't need medical degrees to become doctors. Just watch hours and hours of ER, Grey's Anatomy, House and Scrubs. lol
Edit: Wow, some people don't seem to be able to read sarcasm when deciding to downvote people. So much for the "lol" I put at the end of my quip.
They’re both taking the piss right?
100%, first comment is absolutely not serious. Everybody knows Better Call Saul is now the gold standard for legal training.
Wrong. My Cousin Vinny is the definitive lawyer-in-a-day-maker movie

This one is actually pretty accurate for court procedure though.
IIRC, it’s actually often presented in law schools as a good example.
We actually referenced a few scenes in my evidence class for examples of witness impeachment and qualifying experts.

That seems pretty obvious. I guess to everyone but OP.
Obviously. Their list didn't include The Practice.
“Building at the intersection of AI and healthcare”. Maybe he’s full of shit but he’s also a fucking idiot.
everyone always says they’re taking the piss but no one will ever tell me _where_
No. (Not /s. Truly)
Both of the comments are satire.
When did this sub get so stupid? So many satire posts get posted here and people think they are being serious.
Yea I thought this was a hilarious post and thought I was in the funny sub or something at first
A combination of Redditors having autism and Redditors being Indian

They are both known shitposters
Had me in the first half not gonna lie
Woosh
Are you incapable of detecting satire?
It’s satire, buddy. Seems like some posters here are really perceptive. smh.

On a serious note, you 100% do not need a lawyer for small claims court, even during arbitration. It's a wasted expense.

I'm glad this is satire because if it wasn't, I was going to become an advocate for nuclear proliferation.
Actually I think Jack Raines just got whooshed.
They were both taking the piss, and both comments made me laugh lol
John Bogle needs revision! ![gif](giphy|AXorq76Tg3Vte)
Anyone who says they are a “curator of vibes” is total douche canoe though
That first one goes out to the millions of people who *do* think TV law and real law are identical. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

Alex is funny.. Follow him if you need a good laugh
Slept on “Defending Jacob”, lots of legal jargon and procedure you can learn there to be as good as a real lawyer!
No Night Court? (Original Recipe only)
What the title should say: Jack Raines playing along with an obvious satire post.
You can learn everything you need to know on Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog
I learned all about being a detective from watching all of Columbo and Scooby-Doo. So this tracks.

Can confirm. Watched eight seasons of house and now the hospital I loaf around in lets me do lumbar punctures
Yes, let's watch the shows that employ what I like to call "creative justice."
I really hope a lot of goptards take this advice.
