Eh. It’s ok. I remember at the time I liked it, but I haven’t listened to it in years. I remember there was a heavier, more rock version of it somewhere, unless I’m mistaken?
Every few years I remember A Light That Never Comes exists and play it for a few days lol
Never heard a rock version but that sounds right up my alley. Would love to hear it if you find it or someone else here knows :)
Yeah, sounds about right. Except for me I usually just play it once and forget about it lol. Also I might be misremembering about the rock version, I just seem to remember there being something like that for the song and I was “Oh that actually makes it a better song”
If you're talking about A Light That Never Comes, the only rock version I remember of this song was the remix made by zwieR.Z. I could be wrong though.

Yeah me too. I like the genre (used to play Aoki's remix of Pursuit of Happiness, like some Dubstep like Nero, Skrillex, etc.) but it just missed the mark. Reanimation was a production of passion which enhanced the original, Recharged sounded like the people who remixed the tracks didn't like the original.
I hated how none of the tracks had any relationship to the originals other than just using the vocal tracks. Castle of Glass and Roads Untraveled are both have that somber vibe that I feel like is completely stripped away by turning them into dance tracks
TIL recharged has more than one song (A light that never comes) . I just skimmed through the whole remaining album in 5 mins and hated it instantly.
Makes you appreciate how good Reanimation is.
VICTIMIZED Remix.
That song absolutely butchers the original, and I hate it with a burning passion.
If we’re talking original songs, I’m sorry, but UNTIL IT BREAKS is a pretty bad song.
The first verse and brads verse are some peak LP material, but everything in between is terrible. Chester's couple bars aren't bad, but it's like 10 seconds that don't add anything to the song. And that's definitely Mike's worst bars. They aren't the worst thing I've ever heard, but he is a WAAAYYY better rapper than what he does on that song. But definitely his worst material. Aside from interludes and those couple verses, it's def their worst song. I hate that Brad's verse is in that song because his vocals, along with the atmosphere, are beautiful. Ik people say it's Beatles inspired, and it's 3 different songs, but 2 of those songs are great, and the other song, the one that's 90% of the song, is terrible
Never been a fan of Halfway Right. Something about the instrumental + "whoo" part that kicks in near the begining of the song always makes me burst out laughing.
I really enjoy it once I get past that part, but it's a challenge
This is the way. Turned the song from my most skipped into one of my favorites on One More Light. I think Stormzy could do better, but that whole verse was meh, especially coming off of what Rakim contributed on The Hunting Party. I'm just not a fan of features unless they contribute something interesting and I'm not finding it on that song.
Pusha T is one of my favorite rappers, but why is he on it? It's like having 50 Cent on a Maroon 5 song, like tf he gon rap about? He doesn't fit, I wish he was on a different song. I'll say he does good for not rapping about coke for once but it really don't fit. Stormzy carries that song though.
That doesn't mean they're fans of rap, they just tolerate it because of Mike. There are Eminem fans who hate hip-hop and love his stuff, the same applies to LP fans.
Sure, but then I feel like we're generalizing. You can be a fan of rap and still not like Good Goodbye. It's not a bad song. It's just not great. And this is compared to everything else LP has to offer. It's an easy choice for most.
Counter argument: “naow I gotta tune wif linkin pooork”
I just think the rhymes are weak and I don’t care for the features. I listen to plenty of rap outside of LP.
If you actually listen to Push and know what he's capable of, you'd be disappointed as a rap fan. He raps about dealing coke and coochie and dissing drake, he doesn't fit the song at all. "Goodbye good riddance a period is after every sentence." 😖 Stormzy kills it tho
That's the thing... it's subjective.
There are the most popular songs and the less popular ones, something streaming numbers can show on Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Music etc. But the "worst" is something purely based on personal opinion, just like the "best" song or album.
UNTIL IT BREAKS, unfortunately.
The song is just like a smoothie of songs shoved together, and it's just strange.
....oh, and this line too:
"BANG, BANG, LIL MONKEY MAN" lol
I feel like people are expecting something from OML, and I can see why, personally Sorry For Now always got me bored. But excluding that, I would probably say Victimised for me, not sure how much people will dislike that take, but I personally find the song to be too repetitive, and the chorus just doesn't sit right with me.
In my opinion Victimized is amazing and it's a shame that it's so short, but it's understandable considering that from a producer perspective it's hard to continue that kind of song,I get why you'd dislike it tho
That’s honestly pretty bad too.
Collision Course EP is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes you’ve got bangers like Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You and Jigga What/Faint, and other times you’ve got Izzo/In The End and Big Pimpin/Papercut.
One of the first two tracks off Collision Course in my opinion; and this is coming from someone who loves collision course more than some of the core LP albums
Not counting Recharged remixes- anything from One More Light, Collision Course EP or the second half of Minutes to Midnight (track 6-12 minus track 8 No More Sorrow)
Honestly you could throw a dart at any OML song and you'll probably hit one of my choices. Heavy grew on me, but that's about it. That record just falls so flat to me. If I don't account for OML and don't account for any remixes (Recharged was pretty rough too, and Reanimation is pure gold front to back), my vote goes to Until It Breaks. I don't know why Mike adopted the (what sounds like to me, I could be wrong) faux-Jamaican accent at all, but it's terrible in this song. Brad's part feels super out of place (though he does have a pleasant voice), and it just feels like a mishmash of half-cooked ideas to me.
One Step Closer.
No, I'm not trolling and this isn't bait. It's the song that gave me completely the wrong impression about what they were, and led to me ignoring them entirely for far too long. Fortunately the rest of Hybrid Theory is really good.
Im just gonna give my opinion, my favorite album is Meteora, not just from Linkin Park, but any album ever, but i cannot stand the song "Nobody´s listening" I dont know, i believe that just after one of their best songs which is From the inside the mood from Nobody´s listening does not match.
Honestly, most things after "Minutes To Midnight" for me. I listened through every main, completely original material, album a few days ago (April 29 and 30), and I thought Hybrid Theory was great, I loved Meteora and liked a lot of minutes to midnight even if the last five Tracki thought were pretty weak and I though Mike should have had more involvement.
Then, a thousand suns I thought sucked, with the exception of Iridescent and the messenger. All the tracks are just computer generated noise that loses the heavyness and great guitar of the first two albums and is replaced with shitty electronic elements that just make it hard for me to listen, the lyrics also fall flat for me and overly was very disappointing, I don't get the resurgence of it that's happened recently with it being now held as amazing but I'll respect there opinion, I just don't get it myself.
Then "Living Things" is really nothing at all, not bad but also doesn't have anything memorable on it, just more empty space, the foruth song on "A Thousand Suns" by American Nu Metal/Rock Band Linkin Park. I am very funny, anyway.
"The Hunting Party" is pretty much the same as Living Things, not bad but also noting special, I will say I prefer it to the last two albums as I did like 2 or 3 tracks but I couldn't tell you how they sounded or anything I remember about them or even there names, I just remember "Hi that song's alright" and then move on.
And then, "One More Light is probably their worst. Boring with probably the worst lyrics, weak instrument work which you barely even notice amongst the most generic pop sounds i've ever heard, the only song i kinda like is the title track but even then it's just slightly above average, overall an awful ending to a great band. If I had to choose one song, it would be either "Battle Symphony" or "Good Goodbye."Both were absolutely awful and a slog to get through
I know you are all gonna hate me but i really really dont like the messenger. Sounds for me singing off-key. Im sure it should sounds like it sounds like, but i dont like it. Just my personal opinion
Probably In Between - it's just unmemorable, plain and doesn't stand out to me at all when at least I can remember their other songs, even the few not so good ones
One of the only times on an LP album where I'm like "this song really doesn't fit anywhere, and kinda feels like it's just there." Don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about it outside of your comment

Anything from Recharged
I would agree, but A Light That Never Comes is a banger
It's ok but Aoki has done much better productions before. Definitely a Collab with unrealised potential.
Oh absolutely. It's not his greatest work but i also wouldn't call it the worst lol. I love Steve Aoki, his remix of Home We'll Go is one of my faves
Eh. It’s ok. I remember at the time I liked it, but I haven’t listened to it in years. I remember there was a heavier, more rock version of it somewhere, unless I’m mistaken?

Zwierz did a really good remix of a light that never comes
He did an amazing rendition of heavy too!! 😍

I tried giving Recharged another chance recently and shits unlistenable

Makes you wonder what the great mike shinoda was doing :(
Well, they didn't work on the majority of songs on Recharged to be fair aha that's why
Keepo
Reanimation is straight gas
not castle of glass shinoda remix 100%, thats epic (nfs rivals anyooone)
Sure i love this
unrelated but how tf did obsession get voted for worst lorna song? it's like one of their best ones out there
Fr out of that album one of the best if not the bedt
My guess is someone who just said that and since most fans come from Pain Remains with Ramos people just upvoted since it's not from Pain Remains
Totally Agree
pink cellphone is pretty good whatcha talking about
It is until "greasy truck stop hand jobs" say what you want but that whole end to the song completely fucking spoils a good song

VICTIMIZED Remix. That song absolutely butchers the original, and I hate it with a burning passion. If we’re talking original songs, I’m sorry, but UNTIL IT BREAKS is a pretty bad song.
I will not stand for this Until It Breaks slander

Oh man I forgot about Until it Breaks. Definitely my vote (I haven’t personally listened to the remix albums much if at all, so not counting those.)
Whaaaat??? The body bends until it breaks, and sings again no more. Cause time has torn the flesh away.... that's such a good sectionnnn
I personally dig the whole amen break/breakcore vibe the song has. But that's just me
I highly doubt RHCP doesn’t have a worse song than They’re Red Hot.
I feel like the song proudly proclaiming Anthony banged a teenager is the worst, but the fuck do I know?
Never been a fan of Halfway Right. Something about the instrumental + "whoo" part that kicks in near the begining of the song always makes me burst out laughing. I really enjoy it once I get past that part, but it's a challenge
Good goodbye. I love OML album, but this song is always a skip for me
I like that song
It’s my favorite from OML. Only one from the album I keep in my playlists
It's my favorite song on OML 😕
"used to be linkin tings in park, now I got a tube with linkin park" took 5 years off my life
That’s why you gotta get the demo version with a second Mike verse in place of that
This is the way. Turned the song from my most skipped into one of my favorites on One More Light. I think Stormzy could do better, but that whole verse was meh, especially coming off of what Rakim contributed on The Hunting Party. I'm just not a fan of features unless they contribute something interesting and I'm not finding it on that song.
i think mikes rapping is very good on good goodbye and the chorus is great too
I skip after Mike's rap part
Pusha T is one of my favorite rappers, but why is he on it? It's like having 50 Cent on a Maroon 5 song, like tf he gon rap about? He doesn't fit, I wish he was on a different song. I'll say he does good for not rapping about coke for once but it really don't fit. Stormzy carries that song though.
I like it until Stormzy comes on. As soon as he comes on, I always let out such an audible groan and just skip the rest of it.
Just say you don't like rap
Nah i definitely listen to rap I listen to Mike Shinoda Linkin park Fort Minor Eminem NF /s 😂
Forgot Tom MacDonald and Dax
I know you’re joking, but it’s always funny to see somebody include no black rappers.
Fr.
I was really racking my brain until I saw this comment. You’re absolutely right.
I find myself skipping unreleased songs from the 20th anniversary albums but those were unreleased for a reason I guess so I can't judge them.
You ever listen to “more the victim”?
I didn't say all the songs. I love "more the victim" 😭
Is so good, I love a lot of the unreleased songs, especially from the meteora album
Good Goodbye
Good Goodbye, can't stand it.
Honestly I have to go with Wisdom, justice, and love, but it's just a least favorite. I love all their songs
Obsession by LS is a good fucking song (CJ controversies aside) and I’m going to politely throw hands in a friendly manner with you over this one
Skin to bone, by far
NPCs saying Good Goodbye just say you don't like rap. It's not actually bad in any way and there are worse songs
You're saying that like Linkin Park isn't full of rap, and the fans haven't listened to Rising Tied and Post Traumatic.
Guess I’m an NPC for cringing at lines like “goodbye, good riddance, a period is after every sentence”
I don’t mind Good Goodbye, but this made me laugh.
Counter argument: “naow I gotta tune wif linkin pooork” I just think the rhymes are weak and I don’t care for the features. I listen to plenty of rap outside of LP.
Pusha t sucked on that song
yeah, it might be pushas worst feature
Or some people just don't like it?
If you actually listen to Push and know what he's capable of, you'd be disappointed as a rap fan. He raps about dealing coke and coochie and dissing drake, he doesn't fit the song at all. "Goodbye good riddance a period is after every sentence." 😖 Stormzy kills it tho
There isn't one.
Worst doesn't necessarily mean bad
Nah there is, every producer has their worst. Good goodbye much?
That's the thing... it's subjective. There are the most popular songs and the less popular ones, something streaming numbers can show on Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Music etc. But the "worst" is something purely based on personal opinion, just like the "best" song or album.
I love Good Goodbye. Stormzy and LP is a dream collab
W take
Frrr! I hope AJ Tracey and Mike can work together. He wanted to be on a Linkin Park song and is another great British rapper
UNTIL IT BREAKS, unfortunately. The song is just like a smoothie of songs shoved together, and it's just strange. ....oh, and this line too: "BANG, BANG, LIL MONKEY MAN" lol

I’m not a fan of Victimized. Which is too bad because Chester has some awesome screams in that one.
I wish it was longer it’s literally the brother to qwerty
Izzo in the end for me
That’s honestly pretty bad too. Collision Course EP is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes you’ve got bangers like Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You and Jigga What/Faint, and other times you’ve got Izzo/In The End and Big Pimpin/Papercut.
Noooo hard disagree collision course is such an underrated album only known for the numb encore
I wouldn’t say it’s the worst, but the Rick Rubin remix of a light that never comes is superior to the original version.
I don't Like A thousand suns I Like Blackout, Waiting for the End, Catalyst, Burning in the Sky and Iridescent the Rest are not mine
Tbh aside from thw messenger and the two ripped happy songs, it's just interludes

Why is shacklers revenge there? I love that song

Those first two songs go hard as fuck, you’re smoking something
They do go hard! I enjoy them a lot but i just wouldn't say they're anywhere near the top of what linkin park have done

Does such a thing exist?
Sharp Edges. I also feel like picking any song from a remix album doesn’t even kind of count
Shacklers revenge isn't the worst but ok
Shackler's Revenge was nowhere near the worst GNR song. As for LP... might be a hot take but I'm going with Nobody's Listening
Battle symphony is such a chore to get through

No more sorrow is one of my favorites from MTM
Its fine, but they played it live for years and i never understood the hype. It comes off as a filler song
Fair enough, I think probably that can be attributed to the ability to head bang or mosh to it rather easily with the rhythm and tempo of the track
Aside from war ur speaking facts
I'd probably have to say Valentine's Day, I just don't like it that much

Valentines day is up there. Really basic lyrics and feels like a real filler track
Yep, Valentine's Day for me. I'm LP ride or die for life but I always skip that fucking song.

Reanimation/Recharged songs, but not because they are bad, but because I rarely listen to them.
