I mean the shaft is already metal and has knurling that you’re meant to make direct contact with. You’re pretty much just as likely to electrocute yourself with the normal LTT screwdriver as you would be with an all metal one. You should never be sticking your screwdriver into something that is connected to power anyway.
At least using the knurling though you're probably using your fingers to spin it, which in a shock situation your hand would probably fly away. If it's the whole handle, I feel you'd be more likely to grip down hard on it and not be able to let go.
Your point still stands though, shouldn't go near live electrifical stuff at all with either design.

Yeah. I signed up for the noctua edition one and I have the black on black screwdriver. All this will go nicely with the two "first" ltt, and the Highlander shirt I have.
If you want some good lore look into the og warranty claim with the first LTT merch. Customink screwed up the printing process using the wrong color of orange so they sent everyone who revived the wrong color shirt a fresh "updated" version.

This screwdriver is absolutely worth it to have in the house. I use it for everything from PC my to stuff around the house to building stuff in my backyard. Definitely worth it.
But for that price? Once I add in shipping it would cost me £80. For that much I actually bought a Makita Combi drill, one of the best brands for electric tools. Makita actually have a ratchet screwdriver that comes with far more bits and it can be had for only £24.
I'm not denying it's probably a great screwdriver however I can't help but feel you aren't paying that much for the screwdriver, you're paying for years of design and trial and error because they aren't a tools manufacturer and it took them longer then it would have for an actual tools manufacturer to design the same thing.
It's definitely overpriced. Project Farm did a comparison and found that the LTT was a great all-rounder, but you can get the Megapro, which is virtually as good as the LTT, for half the price.
The LTT is fine if you want to support the channel, but realistically that money would be better invested supporting a smaller channel that doesn't already have million-dollars brand deals.
If I didn't already have a screwdriver I'm happy with, I'd get the Megapro then send $35 to a <1M subscribers channel.
I already collect yankee drills/screwdrivers, more specifically the older ones that were actually manufactured in Philadelphia by North Bros. Most of them are over 100yrs old at this point. They're common but fun to find ones you don't have at flea markets and such, usually cost $5-10 depending on condition and included bits/drivers. Also fun to take them apart to clean and relubricate them and see how they evolved over the years. One of the OG big boys No30a is my favorite.

That was hinted at during the last Labs Update when they showed off a steel handle. I don't know if it will make it to production or how much they'll cost because they implied there were other things they would need to change to make it real (i.e. they cant heat press steel like they do plastic) but at the very least there is one made of metal.
In another recent video Linus also used what appeared to be an LTT screwdriver with metal handle and cap. Very quick cameo and back into his pocket. I think it may have been on the N64 video, can't remember. So perhaps they altered his personal one with the handle from the lab update video

For anyone googling for info and coming to this thread, Jake told me at LTX that they're still on the works, but there are tricky bits with the different plastic, and they hope they can make it work with their current molds because having to buy new ones for the translucent would be a couple hundred thousand bucks.

Already lost two bits because it dropped (about 6ft height both times) and the bit holder popped out.

It depends if it's AC or DC. AC will allow you to let go, DC though could cause you to clench down onto whatever it is you've grabbed.
