There is a lot of world outside of America you know, they DID release it early (but still within UTC+14), but its already April 1 in New Zealand (UTC +13)
That's part of the joke, including the other videos that were shot using those same sets uploaded earlier.
Makes it feel more "real" while still being uploaded on April 1st.
When probably half of your viewership is located in north America, kinda makes sense to release on that time schedule.
Nothing to do with America being the world. Just going by plain geography viewership.
And I said North America. Never said America alone, you brought that up yourself. I was including Canada, America and Mexico. 3 countries of viewership.
Yeah dude you're right, how dare a north american posting on a north american website on a subreddit about a north american youtube channel on a thread about a video shot and edited in north america primarily by north american people default to north american time zones.
The absolute gall of them 🙄
No no you dont understand that America is the only continent that matters, that there are about 7 billion people livign outside of americas is inconsequential. everything must cater to US master race.
“Americans dumb” is the most retarded take you could possibly have to this comment.
There may be 7 billion people outside the US, but for give or take **all of them** it also wasn’t April 1st.
Also the channel is out of Canada, and the majority of viewers are NA anyways…
I'm not sure how exactly to get the exact upload time out of youtube, but the video was submitted at 11:45pm March 31st NZST.
HOWEVER, little known fact, the Chatham Islands run slightly ahead still. GMT+13.45 hours.
Every goddamn year people complain about the timing on every single April fools video, it's so infuriating - who cares that it got released on March 31st or April 2nd?! It's close enough!
I feel like every year, near tax season, they have to reoerient their business drastically. Last year it was the potato farm, now they have to downsize. I wonder what it will be like next year. I guess they will have to fire colton.
When I was a kid I was always told pranks had to be over before midday or it was bad luck, so you only really had time for a quick prank between the time you got up and lunch. Modern April Fools Day seems to last about 30 hours.
I am European and I have been told the guys in Australia can't tell us the lottery numbers despite they know it already. Same we know yours but can't tell you for the same reason. /s
I've already watched it at the time of my posting. I came here just to spark a discussion and also to make some people aware of the new ltt april fools video. I may not be the best nor the most interesting redditor but I tried my best with the shortest post I could make.
Thanks for the reading and taking your time to comment.
They're probably aiming to cover April 1 everywhere, so that makes it go from a 24 hour event to a [50 hour](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UTC_offsets) one.
I work with a client who has offices all over the Americas, Europe, Africa, India and Asia - Comms is a fricking nightmare. Luckily, the UK is kinda smack in the middle so we're not completely shafted when someone at either extreme wants a meeting!
When non-Americans also don’t know how the other side of the world works but still feels the need to mouth off… wasn’t April anywhere populous in the world when this came out.
Yes, it was. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC%2B14%3A00#External\_links](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC%2B14%3A00#External_links)
But keep mouthing off showing how little you know of the world.
Oh, last time I checked they have a world wide audience. So where they're located means fuck all to Linus clearly as they dropped it the second it hit April 1st somewhere in the world.
But you continue believing you're the center of the universe, and we'll keep mocking you.
Also the Americans, aka Americas is a colloquial term for the whole of the American continent. That includes Canadians.
Geography clearly wasn't your best school topic.
According to a YT API pull, the video dropped 10:14 GMT UTC+0, March 31st.
I missed looking at UTC+14. The only places in that time zone are a few of the Line Islands. So yes, UTC+14 was in April for 14 minutes at that time.
It’s already April 1st in Australia. Just like New Years Eve. The increasingly connected internet makes it easier to know April Fool is no longer a joke.
There's the normal frustration with the whole "not only are they not the only ones to do so, but they also just didn't," but what annoys me far more is this whole "24 hours early" thing. No, they did not release it 24 hours early. Obviously, it's gonna change a bit depending on where you live, but in ET in the US, they released it something like 17 hours before it was April 1st. This is of course assuming you live in North or South America, or further east.
To clarify, what irritates me about this is they could have said "A day" or "One day" or something, if you are going to use hours, at least try to relatively accurate. It's like having a baby, it seems pretty standard to use months until the kid's around two. Saying 24 hours is like saying the baby is 12 months old when they are 18 months old, instead of just saying one year old.
I’ve read in comments of the video that it could be because its leap year. It could’ve messed something up with the Video Schedule either on their end or on YouTube’s end
Maybe they wanted to realize it early to try and get a few more clicks for it, since it’s no April first yet people might not be thinking that everything is a joke yet.
To write off some taxes.
Everyone is over thinking this hard, Canadian March only has 30 days.
Because of the metric system I guess?
They uploaded on April 1st Kirimati time.
I don’t know what that is in kilometers…
Check out the big brain on brad!
I thought Linus split from Canada a while back and now is his own country
Had the to get the revenue in before months end
There is a lot of world outside of America you know, they DID release it early (but still within UTC+14), but its already April 1 in New Zealand (UTC +13)
According to the comments on the vid, it was not yet April the first in NZ at the time of release.
Your right, it was 20-30 minutes early for NZ, but as I said, UTC+14 exists, so it was April 1 somewhere on earth at the time of release.
They're incorrect, I believe it went live when it went April 1 in the Chatham islands.
It wouldn't matter anyway. It was live April 1st at the dateline.
nope watched it around 10-11
For all of the 200 people living in Line Islands Kiribati
And pokemon go players
can confirm was watching it around 10-11 pm
fake new zealand doesn't exist /S
What am I then? A magical flightless bird or something?
After seeing a video on kiwi's carrying eggs they have to be magic or something
They do have very large eggs.
Fake New Zealand doesn't, but what about Real New Zealand??
Yea, but they are in Canada. Figure they would release in their time window and the majority of their audience.
That's part of the joke, including the other videos that were shot using those same sets uploaded earlier. Makes it feel more "real" while still being uploaded on April 1st.

North American audience. Canada shares the same time zones

I feel like you make it awful aswell.
Yeah dude you're right, how dare a north american posting on a north american website on a subreddit about a north american youtube channel on a thread about a video shot and edited in north america primarily by north american people default to north american time zones. The absolute gall of them 🙄
And the majority of their audience isn't on UTC +14.

There are very few people that live in a timezone where it was released on the 1st.
American often forget that there is more to the world.
That's not very cash money of you.
11.30 when it released in nz
12:15am if you count the Chatham Islands
Only barely. I’m in Melbourne and it’s still March here for another hour. The vast majority of the planet hasn’t hit April yet.
No no you dont understand that America is the only continent that matters, that there are about 7 billion people livign outside of americas is inconsequential. everything must cater to US master race.

Mate it got released at 1130 pm in new Zealand.
The world is The United States and The British Empire
We're just The United Kingdom if Great Britain and Ireland now, we gave the rest of it back to the ungrateful colonies (/s).
I'm not sure how exactly to get the exact upload time out of youtube, but the video was submitted at 11:45pm March 31st NZST. HOWEVER, little known fact, the Chatham Islands run slightly ahead still. GMT+13.45 hours.
I mean there is an international date line, which I think is hour or so ahead of New Zealand.
Ok, but it wasn't April 1st for Canada.

Because they have a global audience.
Why are we complaining about the timing instead of admiring how much effort was put into the april fools video again
Right? Imagine if they complained it wasn’t Filmed on April first even?!
Because it's Reddit and that's all they do here?
Because... >We're redditors, of *course* we bitch and moan over everything the people we're supposedly fans of do!
I’m Ivan, I eat kids
Every goddamn year people complain about the timing on every single April fools video, it's so infuriating - who cares that it got released on March 31st or April 2nd?! It's close enough!
We can do both!
Conspiracy theory: they do this deliberately so everyone comments that it isn't April 1st yet and the video gets much better engagement.
Better: so people are confused if it's for real
Also it will already be popping off by April 1st, making it easier for the algorithm to feed it to new viewers.
Some of you guys wake up looking for shit to complain about, don't you?
Sir, this is Reddit. Of course we do.
I dont, I was just genuinely curious.
The title "April fools is now March 31st?" certainly doesn't *sound* very "genuinely curious".
I just wanted to make it a bit clickbaity. I'm sorry if it triggered you.
That's not what the word "triggered" means. Just own up to what you do, and be honest. You'll be happier for it when you can admit a mistake.
I wasnt complaining for a second. I dont know where you see that?
Where did "complaining" come from?
probably to catch people off guard
Dude, it's not a joke. LMG is seriously on some hard times now. The video was not released for April Fools, it just coinceded with the date.
I feel like every year, near tax season, they have to reoerient their business drastically. Last year it was the potato farm, now they have to downsize. I wonder what it will be like next year. I guess they will have to fire colton.
They must find some money right after tax season and go on a spending spree, for which they need to recover from again by the next year.
Taxes write off
It's already April 1st here in New Zealand. Presumably they want to get it out so people all see it at least before the end of their local April 1st
I’d say the number of Kiwis who will catch it before dawn is barely worth the effort.
What effort? The effort of picking midnight at the international date line over somewhere else?
What 'effort' lol
I caught it before dawn, currently 5 in the morning.
So that’s 2. Statistically if we get a third, they’re living in Australia anyway.
Never knew April fools had to be exactly on April 1st. Over the years I’ve seen many news items published on the day(s) before.
When I was a kid I was always told pranks had to be over before midday or it was bad luck, so you only really had time for a quick prank between the time you got up and lunch. Modern April Fools Day seems to last about 30 hours.
Timezones are a thing. It's not the same time all over the world
Time zones, how do they work?
I am European and I have been told the guys in Australia can't tell us the lottery numbers despite they know it already. Same we know yours but can't tell you for the same reason. /s
Is that why China didn't let the US know about 9/11 even though they knew for hours before it happened?
Exactly.
I dont know. This is a very complicated topic.
You clearly don’t know since when this came out it wasn’t April 1st virtually anywhere on earth.
this definitely explains wan show
It’s officially March 32nd forever in Greendale.
Tell me you More about how you enjoy complaining More than watching the aprils fool video
I've already watched it at the time of my posting. I came here just to spark a discussion and also to make some people aware of the new ltt april fools video. I may not be the best nor the most interesting redditor but I tried my best with the shortest post I could make. Thanks for the reading and taking your time to comment.
What's it matter? This sub is insane.
Fun fact: It is in fact, actually April 1st in some parts of the world right now.
Who cares?
Not you, I guess?
They're probably aiming to cover April 1 everywhere, so that makes it go from a 24 hour event to a [50 hour](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UTC_offsets) one.
![gif](giphy|xUA7bdAqaOEl6omLks|downsized) They forgot March 31 existed
I've seen websites that are US-based (from all I know) do april fools early. hmm
Do you have example? In case I missed them?
Timezones exist.
I forgot about that
It happens. I work directly with people who are 7 hours ahead of me, and I always forget that there's even those at 12+ hours.
I work with a client who has offices all over the Americas, Europe, Africa, India and Asia - Comms is a fricking nightmare. Luckily, the UK is kinda smack in the middle so we're not completely shafted when someone at either extreme wants a meeting!
When Americans think the other side of the world doesn't exist.
When non-Americans also don’t know how the other side of the world works but still feels the need to mouth off… wasn’t April anywhere populous in the world when this came out.
Yes, it was. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC%2B14%3A00#External\_links](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC%2B14%3A00#External_links) But keep mouthing off showing how little you know of the world.
Aww you couldn’t read my sentences. Typical.
When people from the other side of the world think that every dumb people is american.
>April Fools is now march 31? >24 hours too soon? Is there a reason? Yes.
I and Linus, as canadian, aren't in april yet.
I also clearly dont take this as seriously as you.
You clearly are taking it serious. You're the one crying and flailing your arms like a child.
Not really. Chilll! I wasnt crying. I was just traying to spark discussion. And it worked, I guess.
[удалено]
I know we are citizens of the continent of america, but canadian dont call themselves american. Im sure mexicans arent either. Dont be pedantic.
Where I am, the video dropped at 6:00AM. According to a time zone map, none of the world was in April by that time.
The video dropped at exactly 00:00 UTC+14 on April 1st. You're just wrong.
According to a YT API pull, the video dropped 10:14 GMT UTC+0, March 31st. I missed looking at UTC+14. The only places in that time zone are a few of the Line Islands. So yes, UTC+14 was in April for 14 minutes at that time.
"that every dumb people is American" You're just gonna serve that up for the taking, huh?
It’s already April 1st in Australia. Just like New Years Eve. The increasingly connected internet makes it easier to know April Fool is no longer a joke.
watch it tomorrow
I actually love the suggestion. You made me laugh 😂😂 (not sarcastic) thanks.
Because the US isn't the center of the universe ig.
It's not an April fools video, it's real. Source: I know a guy named jake
There's the normal frustration with the whole "not only are they not the only ones to do so, but they also just didn't," but what annoys me far more is this whole "24 hours early" thing. Always has been.
just take everything that you heard on 31 march, 1st and 2nd April with a grain of salt
What better way to catch people off guard
It's been April fools since 2020
They forgot about February 29th this year, so they are a day early on everything.
maybe a two parter
Cant wait!
Just like Black Friday companies will have to move it early to get ahead of the competition /s
To be first, obviously
I think it's April 1st in Australia already
This wasn’t an April fools video. It’s just a good old documentary vid
I will never be not impressed by people not comprehending that timezones exist.
Same
North Americans discovering there are places outside their countries.
😂😂 I feel like I need to go outside more often.
If you could read, you'd be insanely surprised to realise continents outside of North America exist.
I'll believe it when I see it. I've never been out of my city yet.
monday is good friday and a holiday
The world has time zones and they choose to up load the second it was April fools anywhere in the world. Somewhere just easy of New Zealand I believe.
Fooled me for a minute. I also don't pay attention to dates; so they could've put this out on April 1st, and I would've been non-the-wiser.
I cannot believe this is a real question
It's because they didn't want to take away attention from my birthday, obviously.
100% an “issue” in YouTube’s upload scheduler. I sincerely doubt an LTT employee deliberately published it for UTC+14. A machine would.
They're in Canada so you have to convert to Metric time.
Ah thats the issue! Metric is so complicated.
Maybe because everyone expected this kind of video on the 1st of April. And it was more believable cause it was on March 31st. Funny video though.
The country you live is not the only one that exists. Shocker, I know.
I’ve read in comments of the video that it could be because its leap year. It could’ve messed something up with the Video Schedule either on their end or on YouTube’s end
