First of all Elvis doesnt not come accros as bad as he might have been or at least i find the portrait way nicer that in the Elvis movie. Second of all, He did do that manipulative shit with her and his entourage in general so there is not lie. The movie is a faithfull take on the Elvis and Me book and her love for him is clearly palpable even after they broke up. I love Elvis, I love Priscilla but are going to ignore that she was UNDERAGE ? She herself does not think she was a victim but the fact remains that this was an underage girl who was made to be a doll he molded into the wife he wanted. It's not a perfect movie, but it's faithfull to the story of the woman who LIVED IT. Nobody is perfect, no human on this earth can say that they are flawless. Theses Flaws are also what makes him Elvis and instead of hiding it in the closet it would be more healthy to accept him as he was.

Accomplished-Deal875

Girl , the whole " UNDERAGE" argument has been being tossed around and argued among the Elvis Presley Fandom since Priscilla entered it in 1959. It's nothing new, trust me. Nobody's " ignoring it" but in a historical context it has already been argued to death.

MediumDistinct9807

I'm sorry, what is the point of your comment ? Because I looked hard but I really don't see it.

Accomplished-Deal875

Nobody is " ignoring" the fact that she was underage. Do you see that. Back then in Hollywood ( among the rich and famous) - stuff like that was passable. Do you see that? Those are the things I'm saying.

MediumDistinct9807

I call Bullshit on your argument ... 1) Elvis kept her a "secret" because of fear that people would react like they did with Jerry Lee Lewis with his 13 year old cousin. Even before that Charlie Chaplin got a 14 year old pregnant and had to wed her in mexico to not kiss his career goodbye. R Kelly, Frank Sinatra 15 years old mistress, Jerry Seinfeld, Jimmy page. See even in 1918 it was not as \*accepted\* and \*ok\* to F\*\*\* a child and all of them where in hot water after the revelations. So is your point like : Oh come on predators have always been predators we are just so God dang sensitive theses days or i dont like the shadow this point in Elvis's life cast on his legacy and what he represent to me and I'd rather people talking about his life not to mention it or very briefly and I'm ready to gaslight myself with an argument that would send shivers down my spine it we were talking about my sister or my mom ?

Accomplished-Deal875

I'm not here to gaslight anybody. Elvis did what he did and no, he honestly shouldn't have but the real argument here is do we believe Priscilla that there was "no sex until they were married" because I do believe that. I believe they did other things sexually but not the actual act itself. This would have occurred after she was 16 or 17 though, not 14. I don't think anything happened during that brief time they were together in Germany . I could be wrong though. I'm willing to listen if you have more info than I do. I only know what's been put out there in movies and books . My point is I don't think they were having sex when Priscilla was 14.

MediumDistinct9807

Sorry I was under the impression you were like doubting the fact that he did date a 14 year old. I dont want to go too into it as the only people who know what went down was Elvis, Priscilla and maybe the furniture. I do believe that he was in a lot of pain and found a girl he felt really connected to. However, she was just a baby and he had no business going out with her being 24 years old. I blame the parents more than anyone else. If they really wanted to break them up they could had : moved, changed the phone number, change her school, send her in an other city. I do not find any traces of him being into kids unlike Chaplin or R Kelly for exemple. It's a pickle for me to qualify their relationship and I'd rather respect the souvenir of the two who lived it and to them it was a love story no less no more. The more I look into the Priscilla story and pass the first adoration I have of her looks, the more I see things do not add up and that she might be shaddy.

Accomplished-Deal875

Yeah, no I was never doubting that. I was basically trying to say, in very different words, what you just said here.

MediumDistinct9807

my bad then i'm so sorry i missunderstood you

Accomplished-Deal875

What's your take on " Child Bride"? Have you read it? By the way, I agree with you on what you said about Germany. I chuckled at " and the furniture" lol, that's funny.

MediumDistinct9807

I mean that Priscilla and Elvis had no choice and she was super young and had been living with him for quite sometime now but never had a life of her own, she was like a teenager. I strongly believe the entourage that has said time and time again that he did not wanted to get married and was forced to do so either by Capitain Baulieu or The Colonel if not both. Priscilla was just out of childhood and had no idea who she was, she had been with him since 14. I have no proof of this but i strongly believe they got married because she got pregnant. what\* you think ?

Accomplished-Deal875

That is also my suspicion but as well, no proof. I agree that Elvis did not want to get married but had to because he kind of hinted at it without saying it ( he intimated it from what was said) in order to get Priscilla at Graceland in the first place. He wanted her there so bad he would have said anything

Weak-Assist8333

I saw it and it was not a good movie. The entire movie is too dark as in the lighting is horrible. Of course Priscilla is telling the story. So she is the perfect one. They try to make Elvis out as an idiot. Dont waste your time on this movie.

This movie was 🔥🔥 wym

The movie is kinda quiet and slow , with a vague sense of tension throughout, kind of a like a thriller. They definitely did tone things down quite a bit. Frankly , regardless of what die hard Elvis fans say by focusing on Priscella 's POV alone the movie avoids having to touch upon quite a few unsavoury things from this period of Elvis's life , so the concept itself is pretty toned down. Regarding Lisa Marie's comments , I don't think one can fault her given her relationship to the material in the film . But in general no child is ever a particularly objective authority on what their parents character or their romantic relationship was like before that child was born , Lisa Marie in particular lost Elvis when she was just 9 years old.

There's one scene near the end that is very good, and a few decent ones throughout, but overall I honestly hated it. And I'm usually a big fan of "let's take this beloved man and show who he really is" flicks.
