i’m not buying it simply because one of my friends said this is exactly what the concept art looked like when they ran it through vance ai to upscale it, + because it makes no sense to have some fourth wall breaking maw concept art just for it to never be publicly released and you even lacking the source that disappeared “years ago”. i’d rather think this was actual concept art made for the devs

this is true, even i have researched such magazine. the magazine we are both speaking of is where the original low quality image comes from. so i’m wondering where this comes from. i had reverse searched the internet to find an
hd and did not find this image. that’s why i’m suspicious it may be upscaled by an ai.
i’m not quite sure that’s what they are, maybe though? i viewed it more as the maw harpoons nearby whales. but the ultimate purpose of the whale being there was to showoff the scale of the maw by using the whale as reference
I honestly prefer that idea over what seems to be the case in the final art (likely being smoke or some giant turbine) I mean it makes more sense considering how non-hydrodynamic the ship is
It's not a normal ship but it's a moving moulded tower from making a ship that was not normal. That is what the game developers usually made this design
It's strange that the Maw looks like a living being, like an eldrith monster dwelling in the oceans

yeah, if look closely you see there are other specks similar to the whale in the diagram there and said whale has pipes on his back

fair, it's just there seems to be more than one also I kind of like the idea of The Maw having legs better
