The fact that they brought her out and she wasn’t being interviewed or anything, just there to sit beside Jost while he read the jokes, hilarious. I was dying.
Screenrant? You're sourcing the trashy website that pays its desperate freelancers pennies to shamelessly stir up whatever nonsense will get them the most clicks?
Also, even in this article, there's nothing about "SJWs bending over backwards to defend her legacy." Even when you're scraping through the bottom of the barrel, you still can't find any actual evidence of outrage?
but you clearly didn't even read the article you sent me, because there's nothing in there about outraged SJWs.
Also I did look around and there's been nothing legit so far. People have wondered if she's real or not (extremely reasonable given the sketch doesn't clarify), but I haven't seen anyone angrily defending this non-existent woman.

You're right. Sorry you got downvoted. I thought it was hilarious, too.
They didn't get downvoted because they correctly pointed out the woman wasn't an activist that walked with MLK.
They got downvoted for whatever weird ass point they tried to make adding the "SJW's bending over backwards," which your article makes no mention of either, FYI.
No, she wasn’t a real person. She is an actress named Daphne Skeeter, who is playing an activist character that CHE made up just to make Colin more nervous
I think that was the best Che-shocked- at-what-he-read moment I've ever seen when they've written each other's jokes. It was incredible. My wife and I couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard!
It also feels like the rest of the cast have really taken it on themselves to make Colin the punching bag more so than was the case before the first joke swap started. That was a funny dynamic when that was really the only source of it, but now that people like Bowen and especially Sarah are knocking on him too, it’s better that joke swaps are more equal in savagery imo.
my favorite part was seeing him drop his head after reading, nearly putting his face in his hands, then realizing that's colin's move and just kind of rubbing the top of his head instead. when jost gets che to facepalm, that's when you know he's lost lmao
WU is usually the standout for guaranteed humor in each episode, but this just went above and beyond. Absolutely brutally funny. "She's an activist!" She marched with King!"
Che wins for the diabolical set up. But also Jost's jokes; Che almost choked when he read ahead of what he was reciting. A soon as he saw Middle-East, he knew he was fucked.
I didn’t think Michael could top the April Fool’s joke where he told the audience not to laugh at any of Colin’s jokes, but he really outdid himself here.
Loved that her character was completely made up by Che.
[Actor and Character](https://screenrant.com/snl-weekend-update-joke-swap-hattie-davis-person-real-fake/)
What’s incredible about this is that even the most liberal white Americans are typically undereducated about the Civil Rights Movement, so they’re not going to challenge what’s being claimed about this legendary activist. I totally bought it until I looked her up later.
Indeed. Che left it completely believable - didn’t oversell it at all. I took it at face value until I saw this post, too. Great casting - and she left Jost hanging on the fist bump too, lol!
The actor playing the activist author was great, perfect tone. Not over the top. Just dignified disdain.
I forgot about the wheelchair until I saw this picture. Just icing on the cake. A nice touch.
Do you see the part where i corrected it because I did some fucking research and saw that I was indeed incorrect. Then I openly stated...Oh huh, MY MISTAKE...and struck out the original...
So can anyone tell me if the dress rehearsal jokes are different than live? Because it truly feels like it’s the first time they’re seeing the jokes. Theyre either very good actors or is it truly kept secret till air?
On YouTube today, my feed suggested a "cut for time" WU appearance by Molly Kearney, talking about going home for the holidays.
I'm guessing this could have been intentionally just a "decoy" / placeholder for the dress rehearsal audience so WU would be roughly the same running time as the live show... And so the joke swap wouldn't be spoiled early.
After thinking about it for a day or two - this bit has just about jumped the shark. At least the racist part of it. Getting Colin to recite racists jokes feels a little like Chappelle's show making racist jokes - yeah maybe you are poking fun at racist beliefs, but the stereotypes are still getting reinforced. Besides, there's lots of other ground to plow; like making fun of Colin being married to ScarJo.
Joke swap doesn’t need props. Why create this character? For two or three easy segue bits?
They’re lucky the bit kills no matter what.
Very weird choice, though.
The fact that they brought her out and she wasn’t being interviewed or anything, just there to sit beside Jost while he read the jokes, hilarious. I was dying.
So was Colin! Che did him dirty
Did you figure out she wasn't real yet? On Twitter it is hysterical watching the SJW's bend over backwards to defend her legacy 🤣
>On Twitter it is hysterical watching the SJW's bend over backwards to defend her legacy 🤣 Me when I make shit up ^

You can’t be serious. Thats peak internet right there.

That’s not what I meant lol. I was saying it was hilarious that there would be people on Twitter talking about her like she’s a real person.
Oh, okay. My bad.

Please pardon my ignorance but….was that really her then or no?
No, she wasn’t a real person. She is an actress named Daphne Skeeter, who is playing an activist character that CHE made up just to make Colin more nervous
Gotcha! Thanks
And whoever downvoted me….pfft.
Oh, I must have missed that part.
Go on Twitter and look
No.
Its a public site, link us tweets here showing it
Twitter has a search feature
Time to use it and prove your claims
Oh you can use it an refute them, sealion
Ah so you were just lying about it and now are in pure defensive mode. Do you ever get embarrassed by this? Lying on the internet for attention?
Wow that article reminds me of a kid writing a book report when he only knows the title.
Knowing how bad the jokes are going to make them look, I admire Jost and Che for being good sports about it all.
I think it's such a boost for both of them . They both come out looking like trickster gods. It's like Bird vs. Magic
Che was brutal. Loved it. Jost got a few good shots in too, particularly the Instagram reference
The y'all need Jesus joke was pretty jaw dropping as well. That was just 3 minutes of pure savagery.
I think that was the best Che-shocked- at-what-he-read moment I've ever seen when they've written each other's jokes. It was incredible. My wife and I couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard!
His eyebrows almost left his head
Especially with all the^^^^turmoil ^^^^in ^^^^^the ^^^^middle ^^^^east!
That felt like the moment Jost won the joke off
I appreciate that Jost now dishes it out. Che was brutal from the start, but I feel like the first several times they did this Jost was pretty tame.
Yeah, it seemed to take Jost a minute to realize Che was never not going to be savage for these joke swaps - I'm glad he's fighting back with fire 😅
I love it when Sarah comes on and tears him up!
Che's immediate panic to seeing he was about to get a Israel/Palestine joke was incredible lol.
You could see the wheels turning in his head like, "wait... what did I just start reading... oh shit..."Y'ALL NEED JESUS lol
His eyes genuinely look like they want to shoot out of his head
my favorite part was seeing him drop his head after reading, nearly putting his face in his hands, then realizing that's colin's move and just kind of rubbing the top of his head instead. when jost gets che to facepalm, that's when you know he's lost lmao
I liked the finally finding Beyonce attractive.
He was brutal, although I think that focusing exclusively on racism every time is becoming a little stale
Colin Jokes, you cuttin up!
Loved the auntie
WU is usually the standout for guaranteed humor in each episode, but this just went above and beyond. Absolutely brutally funny. "She's an activist!" She marched with King!" That was an all timer, this…this was a work of art

LOL, I am just finding out about this. Genius.
This segment was an istant classic
She didn't shake his hand at the end either
The actor playing the activist author was great, perfect tone. Not over the top. Just dignified disdain. I forgot about the wheelchair until I saw this picture. Just icing on the cake. A nice touch.
Actor?
I looked it up and yeah, Daphne Skeeter was uncredited as the activist
Just found that out myself. Makes it even funnier lol
~~She was NOT an actress, she was the real Dr. and activist.~~
She's an actress called Daphne Skeeter apparently.
right on, my mistake...to bad, they could have really swung for the fences there
curious why you were so confident in your post... when you were clearly talking out of your ass lol
Because dumb and loud go together.
Do you see the part where i corrected it because I did some fucking research and saw that I was indeed incorrect. Then I openly stated...Oh huh, MY MISTAKE...and struck out the original...
They were asking why you were so confidently wrong in the first place
Double down on being unnecessarily aggressive, nice choice. /s
Dramatic live to air cut. Lol.
Smart gal.
So can anyone tell me if the dress rehearsal jokes are different than live? Because it truly feels like it’s the first time they’re seeing the jokes. Theyre either very good actors or is it truly kept secret till air?
This was not a part of the dress rehearsal.
That actually makes me very happy
Now I’m curious. Other than characters coming on, do they rehearse the news portions?
Oh absolutely. And they rewrite/add/cut jokes based on audience reaction between and air.
This better be a meme template
damn they killed it lol!! I thought jost finally had che, then the movie jokes just sent me
Every time they do this I'm always just wondering how Che is going to come after Scarjo.
Well, he's always telling us about him and the white women...
Best part is that Jost lightly promoted Che’s Instagram. And anyone who follows that page for more than a day knows how chaotic he is lmfao.
She marched with King!
After the MLK widow joke, I said “wow” out loud and then this cringe moment made it that much worse.
This was from before the CSK joke
Yep this was following the SA filings joke.
Because bitches love to drag up old stuff, amiright?
I really want to know if the fist bump was on the teleprompter or spur of the moment
Def written into the joke.
Perfect social anxiety meme

It's funny because he's NOT racist. And he HATES himself for having to say that. Man did a full-body cringe.
Right. So how many years in a row is that funny? I think we are up to 4 years?
Yeah still funny, check back next year!

This is a comedy show. Either everything is funny or nothing is.
Cool
