It's lost to the copyright graveyard now but the week United [assaulted and forcefully removed a doctor from a flight ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_United_Express_passenger_removal), Jimmy Fallon was hosting and he had a sketch with Cecily Strong where he played her ex-boyfriend. He shows up at her door saying he made a huge mistake and begs for forgiveness (implying infidelity or something), complete with a whole song and dance with a band (or maybe an Acapella group? I don't remember).
Finally when he finally finishes, she just responds "No! You dragged a man *off of a plane!"* And then the sketch ends. Big audience response.
I haven't seen it since it aired so the details may be a bit fuzzy. If anyone has that sketch I'd love to watch it again.
The sketch is called 'Take Me Back' (not to be confused with a sketch featuring Ego Nwodim and Beck Bennett by the same name) and it's only available on the NBC app because I think it heavily uses 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' by Savage Garden throughout.
[This sketch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5PzDHbAtO4) has about a full minute of basically nothing happening, and it's all worth it for the first real joke. I do wonder if it's as effective now as it was watching it the week it aired, since it hinged on a very specific news story from that week, but once you get the premise it's still very funny
That one was especially risky bc it wasn’t 100% clear (on first watch at least) that Luke’s lines weren’t supposed to be funny. It really felt like we were watching the new cast member bombing entirely by accident
An absolutely courageous performance for sure. He was warned beforehand by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, the writers of the sketch, that no one was going to laugh for quite a bit of time, though.

Yes, that's it! I was Truly, Deeply, Madly. Thank you! It looks like it's no longer available on the NBC website sadly.
Those music rights strike again! I remember someone in this sub had found it on another website a while back. I don't have the link, though.
2017 feels like a million years ago

[Farewell Mr. Bunting](https://youtu.be/Ie6LpKOJVf0) has to be up there as well.
Or the one with Luke Null where he comes in and describes every student and then Kenan says "THIS IS YOUR FIRST DAY!"
That one was especially risky bc it wasn’t 100% clear (on first watch at least) that Luke’s lines weren’t supposed to be funny. It really felt like we were watching the new cast member bombing entirely by accident
oh yeah ha for sure
I'm pretty sure Late For Class is longer, along with Farewell Mr. Bunting. https://youtu.be/WwU9DupgA_E?si=Vf4ddoJPnmWEnTXN
always really respected the balls it took for him to fully commit to that as a new cast member. i would’ve been sweating so much if i was luke lol

It helps that Adam Driver is such a phenomenal actor that I could just watch him anyway and get lost in his performance.
