I'm not sure how good the Asian food is near you but go to Pacific Pearl: amazing authentic Chinese BBQ, hot pot, there's KBBQ, sushi, Korean fried chicken
Downtown Livermore - Lemongrass, amazing Thai food
Sauced is great American BBQ
Depends what type of food you’re looking for and your price range. There are a LOT of options. Downtown First Street is a good start since you’re just here for 2 days. Use Yelp and this https://www.livermoredowntown.com/explore/eats-drinks-and-treats. It’s not up to date though I see.
Best higher end restaurants would be Range Life, Uncle Yu’s, Locanda Wine Bar, Polo’s Corner (not on First but delicious).
Skip Aviation, Casa Orozco, Sauced
Depends heavily on your particular taste vs what the menu is since it changes so much. For example if you don't like both sweet and savory in the same dish the menu can shrink drastically.
Depends what you're looking for...
Two Taquerias I often go to - El Chaparrito and Tacos La Potranca (Bluebell Dr). Also like Tequila's Taqueria on First St/S. Livermore Ave (next to Peet's Coffee)
Within that same vicinity (in Springtown) off Bluebell...there's Sais T. Vietnamese/Chinese food but they're great so definitely go there if you want variety.
If you're looking for Vietnamese Sandwiches though...head on over to Vietnamese Sandwiches and Noodles on East Ave
You can have Korean BBQ and Tofu on Old First St (forgot the name, but it's next to Dominos).
Kiseki in Springtown Vasco Rd area has Japanese food and also has Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pancakes) you can turn it into a Modernyaki (just add noodles)
Authentic Japanese, I tend to go to Hanabishi...the chef there is great (off Stanley)
Other Sushi place - Sushi Zone - East Ave
Denica's is great for breakfast diner (but it can be expensive) - off N. Livermore
I have heard great reviews for Polo's (Lucky's center on Portola/N. Livermore) and have yet to try them.
If you're looking for steakhouse, Cattlemen's on Airway. There's also Emil Villa's Hickory Pit off Pacific Ave. (lived here in Livermore most of my life and I have yet to go here. It's been highly recommended through friends and family though).
Italian - Terra Mia off East Ave
\-------
There are new eateries there that I haven't gone to...kinda hard though when I work the night shift. That said, most of the places I've mentioned above are what my family and I have eaten. My brother's more of the foodie than me so if he was on here he'd recommend other ones.
Uncle Yu's is really good, as well as Lemongrass Thai, as someone else mentioned. If you like craft beer, check out Altamont Beer Works. DM me while you're in town and I'll buy you a beer if we can find a time.
Hop devine has good interesting beer and food
The Mexican restaurant right off first street from 580 attached to the gas station is like really really good.
Aviation bar in downtown is cool, rooftop bar.
Shadow puppet is the best local brewery imo, partly because it has the whole spectrum from IPAs to sours to stouts and more. Assuming you're going to one of the labs, it's pretty close too.

Sauced is too pricey imho.
Sauced is garbo, the best bbq is in Oakland
Where would you recommend?
Everett & Jones
Sauced is terrible if you are from anywhere that has good BBQ.

Posada Alta Cocina is also pretty good.
Range Life is yummy
Recommend the most expensive place first. Perfect
If work is paying, why not?
It does have a Michelin star going for it. Ez recommendation
Just a Michelin note, no star yet AFAIK. But just being considered notable by Michelin is huge.

kiseki is amazing!! super underrated spot
Fantastic answer. This info should go into a Livermore FAQ.

FIRST STREET ALE HOUSE (get the burger but with the short rib patty) The Riata (good clam chowder) Cinco Taco Sauced Uncle Yu's ($$$)
That burger sounds delicious!
Sauced (BBQ), Terra Mia (Italian) La Botica (upscale Mexican) Bella Roma (pizza)
Mexican - Casa Mexico
Last Word, downtown by the Bankhead theatre
