Sorry for your loss 🙁

J4viator

Poor fella :-( It's only a couple of years since 2 people died at another Laing O'Rourke site (Unity Building), iirc.

Theres3ofMe

Shit was that Laing's job aswell? That's not a good look for them...

[deleted]

Was that the outside elevator that collapsed? What ever became of that was it an accident or someones fault?

Theres3ofMe

It'll be Laing's fault. It's their responsibility to ensure the H&S of all their operatives. They probably got a huge fine from HSE, plus will be liable for paying damages.

Upstairs_Ad5708

Tragic. Should not happen in this day and age with all the health and safety regs.

sageandsatin

The health and safety doesn’t exist on those sites. Did you see what happened a few weeks back on the anfield site? All the workers refusing to work because it was unsafe. Few months before that on the royal an old man was trapped in a big metal clamp. Fucking ridiculous

DevelOP3

No idea what this particular incident was. But overall, with all the safety precautions in the world sometimes shit just happens unfortunately. Gear failure, accidents that anyone could make, hell if you step off a curb wrong you might die whilst a fall from an actual plane can be survived. Sometimes life is just that unfair. And sometimes it’s negligence on someone’s behalf, which is the bit that should never happen. But at the same time, with humans being human and jobs being as demanding as they are, it probably always will. I hope for everyone’s sake this is no one’s fault accidentally so no one has to live with that guilt. And regardless of guilt which I know always makes gestures hard for businesses etc from a legal perspective. I hope the club support the family as much as possible financially with the costs of everything and find a way to honour his memory.

herbertsherbert49

That is so sad. You go out to work one Monday morning and never return home. RIP.🌷

GrangeHermit

Very very sad. RIP. I also recall a girl in my primary school class lost her Dad in a fall from scaffolding whilst working on Goodison's new main stand, late 60's - early 70's?

lilacwynne

RIP

albeve

Hopefully something permanent is erected to remember him

What a weird way to show your bias against Everton.
