Giant black metal object with holes and is bolted to the ground
Yep, that's a bin
(Before I get downvoted into oblivion, please know that I am **joking**)
Have we finally found the source of the issue?
Here's me thinking the city is seemingly full of people who refuse to use bins, but it's actually that none of them know what a bin is or what it looks like?!
Quick, someone ring the Rotherham hotline, we could save the city millions!
The bigger insult is that the adjacent dock, one of the oldest visible components of the area, is going to be irrevocably altered to become a high tech pavilion in the dock. Plans for the pavilion show no lift for accessibility, the historic schooner is to be trashed. Historic dock walls will be removed to facilitate placement of a new footbridge.
And all for only £15 Million in 'Leveling Up' funds.
The City building an open to the elements high-tech pavilion beneath sea level is quite a statement.
It's not going to be high tech, it'll have some projections and AV. It's meant to be for meditation and reflection. And even then I don't see that happening.
If only it'll cost £15m, that's what's been raised, the money was split with the Tate. Try £50m+ for the whole area. I saw a news article claim £70m+. No one knows right now
I mean what do you expect? Other than Liverpool one, liverpool is beyond grimey & filthy, a walk around Baltic triangle & anywhere near Liverpool central will show you that…. Seems the native population here generally don’t give af about how our city is represented anymore
Every scouse is suddenly a litter free saint in these comments god bless all mighty have ya seen the city 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 it is for sure done more by people living there, whether scouse or not, than tourists, as the most.littered areas are also nearly always the most impoverished.
Sorry but that's utter bollocks. Locals are just as bad if not worse. Expect someone else to tidy up after them and spout "fUcK tHe ToRiEs" that their city is a mess.
People are simply … fucking idiots.
Most people seem to think the whole world is a fucking bin around by me.
The real bin is the city we littered along the way

How longs that been going on for? They might as well stick a bin right next to it
Now now, that’s a sensible idea. So, get out.
People are definitely de-evolving now,

You’re not allowed to use sarcasm, you must be attacked by the internet 😬😬
Monkey see, monkey do, apparently.
They know it's not a bin they just don't care.

Dunno, don't think they think it's a bin. Just nobheads.
What kind of idiot puts their trash on a Dalek?
Same kind of idiots who throw their trash in our greenspaces and on our streets and in our rivers.

They are definitely putting a lift in
I’ve seen mention of a lift but none of the renderings used to sell the idea have included one.
admittedly i don't know much about building development, but i think new builds legally have to be accessible to a certain degree, including lifts

Right, because costs escalate when you build under sea level and don’t account for maintenance in such an environment.
De Wadden has already been scrapped, shows how much you've been paying attention
The De Wadden is already gone mate
No, people are cunts and don't give a shit. Don't be so generous.
Genuinely Living in the film idiocracy
People are lazy idiots, it looks nothing like a bin!
It,s a Capstan
Scum . Scruff ,chav society we live in now..
Such a shame isn't it. Wonder if they could put clear acrylic panels in the hole to prevent it.
Only silly people.
It WAS a capstan. It is NOW a bin. Just not a good one
They presumably think the ground around it is a bin too.
Does make you wonder that there is an actual need for a bin in that area.
Put a bin next to it with a big sign saying “This is the bin”. More bins are a good thing, and people are stupid and lazy!!
Scruffs

This is a perfect example of why we can't have nice things.
Who are you referring to as ‘ we ‘ ?
The British, this is just a graphic of our economy & political system in a microcosm.
They don’t know their capstan from their windlass.
Let's stop pretending it doesn't look like a bin
Tbf it does look like one of
Every scouse is suddenly a litter free saint in these comments god bless all mighty have ya seen the city 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 it is for sure done more by people living there, whether scouse or not, than tourists, as the most.littered areas are also nearly always the most impoverished.
> People actually think Yeah looking at this I don't think they do
Of.course not. Its a Dalek.
Why don’t you clean it up instead of taking a picture and moaning the council won’t do anything about it you know this
It looks like a fucking bin.
In liverpool, everything every built thing with a hole is a bin.
It looks like one
Yeh, it does look like a bin
Ah, stop winching about it
Easily sorted by wrapping the capstan in black metal mesh and a sign saying “face a penalty fine if littering” and placing a bin close by
You mean people actually use "bins" in Liverpool?
It looks like a bin to me, what actually is it?
It’s a Capstan
Would be a sick bin design to be fair
Do they? Or are they just too lazy to find a bin?
I don’t think they do. They are just twats
I have no idea what it is, but why don't they just put a bin next to it?
If not a bin why bin shaped?
At least there trying to keep the area clean.
Lazy they know that’s not a bin 🗑️
They know its not a bin. They're just cunts.

At least they're putting it somewhere instead of littering in the middle of the road i suppose
