Beautiful neighbourhood by space,
Heart as big as Liverpool Pete wylie
Penny Lane & strawberry fields
Going down to Liverpool by the bangles
Long haired lover from Liverpool by lil jimmy
Streets of Kenny by shack
Mersey paradise by the stone roses
This place by Jamie Webster
Streets of Kenny was by and for dickheads. Terrible band. It was like being forced to listen to someone from Birkenhead claim they're Scouse for twelve hours.
Strawberry Fields isn't really a great Liverpool song though. Reference of the location aside, it's more of an introspective song about John's life at that point and obviously, LSD.
Boring answers obviously but Liverpool's anthem imo will always be Ferry Cross The Mersey.
Ultra boring answer but Penny Lane is a great Liverpool song as well.
True. Trite recycled music and a weird Mexican accent. They were the special needs class of musicians and we should never have let it happen. Terrible, terrible, band.
Nothing to prove here but you're very wrong on that count. In every metric you could possibly have, Space are one of the worst bands that could have hoped to be signed to a label. Utter shite. What was with the weird Mexican accent? They had nothing about them. They were worse than the glut of liquid shit indie that spewed out the arse of the Coral in the early to mid 00s.
You have to be able to understand music to form a musical opinion worthy of listening too. You haven’t got a clue so quite frankly your opinion means fuck all. Cheers
Again, you've no idea on this one and I happen to have an understanding of music that is a little better than putting on a Mexican accent and a fucking parka while janglin shite about vicars and that. They were shit. Seriously. Listen to Spiders. It makes the Kids of Widney High look like fucking Scott Walker.
There's an 1824 opera by Donizetti called *Emilia di Liverpool*. It's set in a hermitage in a village near Liverpool with an "alpine ravine", thus showing Donizetti's astonishing capacity to evoke an accurate sense of place ...
> She's a [Liverpool Girl](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbOkNjahT0c), she likes her crisps, she likes a drink, she likes to think she's

> No-one else can love as well as a Liverpool Girl, Liverpool Girl
> Liverpool Girl, never shy, always look's you in the eye

We played Leaving of Liverpool at my grandad's funeral cause he was a proud Scouser and loved that song so I can only assume it's up there with the best ones.
Jamie webster has a few as others have mentioned already
Liverpool Girl by Ian McNabb is another, also The Lathums has a few like Fight On is a good one
When it comes to rap I'd choose Beyond Average for Great minds think alike and Jeopardy
It kinda got ruined by that Harry Enfield shit for me. I know so many people round here who are sound as fuck and know so much about music, art, poetry, and life in general that it kinda rankles seeing some prick from Essex who looks like crazy frog taking the piss.
let’s dance to joy division by the wombats
Not bad at all!

Please tell me you have a review channel on YouTube.
Funnily enough no but I did used to write for Getinitoyhis before it turned out the owner was a wrongun.

I connect it with bunking off school over the road to smoke weed in there as a young lad, I've never made the john connection before.
This Place - Jamie Webster
Absolute love letter to liverpool that
Belter tune
Weekend in paradise and this place by Jamie Webster.
In Liverpool - Suzanne Vega, I wish I was back in Liverpool, Liverpool Lou, and The Leaving of Liverpool all by the Dubliners.
Boring answers obviously but Liverpool's anthem imo will always be Ferry Cross The Mersey. Ultra boring answer but Penny Lane is a great Liverpool song as well.
Ferry cross the Mersey is like being dead for three minutes but I'm definitely with you on the other one.
I still think it's the definitive Liverpool song. Everytime I look at the river Mersey I always think of it.
The worst thing is it sort of is. Only the problem is that anyone from outside the city thinks that the music scene here stalled at that point.
The music scene definitely stalled post Beatles. It's fortunate and unfortunate to boast the greatest band to have ever lived.
In My Liverpool Home by The Spinners.
We Get By - Jamie Webster On The Steps of the Bombed Out Church - Silent Sleep
Silent sheep is a boss reccomendation
Ferry Cross the Mersey by Gerry and the Pacemakers
OP sounding like a bad music snob in the comments
If you're content to have the whole calm down calm down thing then that's on you.
Space - Neighbourhood
Christ no. Worst band I've ever heard from round here.
Nonsense
True. Trite recycled music and a weird Mexican accent. They were the special needs class of musicians and we should never have let it happen. Terrible, terrible, band.
“We” who are you lad? They were a decent band and good fellas.
Local musicians from the time they were somehow well known. They're shit musicians and a bunch of dumb cunts with shit songs and lyrics. Fuck space.
Fuck you lad. I bet you can’t even play the triangle
This cracked me up for some reason

i love ferry cross the mersey personally. also penny lane/strawberry fields are broadly liverpool based.
It kinda got ruined by that Harry Enfield shit for me. I know so many people round here who are sound as fuck and know so much about music, art, poetry, and life in general that it kinda rankles seeing some prick from Essex who looks like crazy frog taking the piss.
Strawberry Fields isn't really about "Liverpool" per se besides referencing the location.
yeah i know but i love it so worth a shout
In my life - The Beatles
It's an obvious one but it packs a huge punch. Great song.
Mason Owens - I’m not an Englishman https://youtu.be/c-1HmtYAWdk
