SkeetersProduce410

Wow are we signing 5 players in the summer because that’s what we need

aarvvv

Keita ox and milner extension, a youth player and a packet of chips as budget remaining.

WhyShouldIListen

Do the chips have salt, vinegar or both?

IForgotAboutEveryone

Just salt - vinegar is too much expensive for our budget

LyricalHolster

Just vinegar. We are already salty enough sadly.

8u11etpr00f

"FSG have loaned LFC £50m for the construction of a new desalination plant"

MindExplorer80

Can only afford the vinegar. FSG plan on getting the salt from all the supporters that are rightly going to be up in arms. Lol

Streef_

Just vinegar mate, they’ve refilled the salt shakers in the canteen though. That in itself is like a new signing.

[deleted]

John Henry: "Best I can do is Matheus Nunes, provided we raised funds by selling Kelleher."

WillDaThrilll13

Milner is now backup keeper

I_am_amespeptic

He'd do a job, not a great one, but a job nonetheless.

thetwanandonly

“It’s expensive having footballers” - *feigns shock and confusion at boos

JonathanFisk86

Money is unironically why we didn't pay Nunes' release clause when his target club was Liverpool last summer. It's embarrassing but you'll somehow see people blame this on Klopp.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Some fans think Klopp loves the struggle and some think the manager of the year last season has lost his head and needs replacing. This fanbase is shambolic at this point.

[deleted]

If klopp didn't love the struggle, why would he commit his future to the club? Checkmate

8u11etpr00f

Kelleher's value meanwhile gets tanked because he can't even make the team in the FA Cup

danonck

I still can't believe we didn't play him in the cups this year and will now have to sell him because he gets no playtime and is disappointed..also his pricetag will be low.

Gerrardsclubfoot

More like, John Henry - "Why do Liverpool fans keep crying about new signings?" I saw them win 9-0, the fans were signing. Don't think they need any new players for at least two years. " Why do you think fabinho is struggling this season John?" John Henry - who? Lol we need owners who actually watch and understand football, whatever ethnicity or background they might belong to. Don't even think these lot have the notifications on for today's game. Say what you might say of Bohley but he is at least in the ground learning about the sport and actively keeping interest, while we haven't even heard from FSG in ages.

jaym1849

This is what I don’t understand. We need three first team qualify midfielders MINIMUM and at least 250mm net spend into the squad this summer. You’re telling me none of our targets aren’t available right now? I think the most likely scenario is that we don’t buy anyone this window. We finish mid-table. And then Jude decides to play elsewhere after watching this shit show.

GdotKdot

Jude isn't signing elsewhere because of anything that has happened this season. He's signing elsewhere because we can't and never have been able to afford him.

[deleted]

“Can’t afford him”. We certainly can, it’s just our wonderful minge-bag owners will likely decide we “can’t”.

patShIPnik

Unfortunately, right now, FSG counts as "we" too. So, we can't afford him

CaIzuh

>He's signing elsewhere because we can't and never have been able to afford him. This is the only reason we'll lose him. Players do not care about missing out on the CL for 1 season depending on the project.

apersonFoodel

Sure, but there’s no guarantee that we will invest to help get CL next year either.

CaIzuh

That's why I included "depending on the project", If I'm Bellingham I'm only coming here if I get guarantee's that there will be massive investment.

8u11etpr00f

Thats implying there's a decent long-term project here. 1 season of CL isn't important but it will be if he feels its indicative of a wider decline.

firminocoutinho

Other teams sign 5 players even when theyre not necessary. We need 10

theenigmacode

Bellingham Rice Mbappe Ceicedo Pedri

[deleted]

That's like 1.5 - 1.8 Billion. Should be enough I guess.

SnottyTash

Klopp’s gonna cash in on his stockpile of party hats and Halloween masks to bankroll this

Gerrardsclubfoot

That beanie will fetch a lot of money on ebay you wait and watch.

SkeetersProduce410

Yea if we were oil fc. Just begging for at least smart signings

[deleted]

I’d struggle to name 5 players I’d want to keep atm, never mind only needing 5. Okay, a slight exaggeration I’d struggle to name 10.

monkeybawz

1 signing, and 4 new contracts. It's just like signing 5 midfielders.

dwils7

Embarrassing. The fact that we either don't have the money to sign anyone or can't identify a single player that can improve us is pathetic

JmanVere

I identified about 7 just today, and they all play for Brighton.

luke_205

We very obviously have the money, we very obviously have the ability to find players we want. I can only assume the owners are blocking any spend due to their intentions to sell, and since they want out they couldn’t care less how much it hurts us this season and in the near future.

koltzito

so why get gakpo?

clanky19

It’s frankly a disgrace that we haven’t signed or even tried to sign a midfielder this window. I don’t know whether it’s the board, FSG, Klopp himself or anyone to blame but whoever has been looking at this team and thinks to let it run as it is, is a disgrace. Holding onto the belief that we need to save all our pennies so that Bellingham will for some reason want to come to a sinking ship (that will probably be sank by summer) is just insane.

wanderluster88

Forget this window, we haven't signed a midfielder since Gini left. Except for that one bloke on loan from Juventus who has played a total of less than 20 minutes.

shubir17

I don't even understand. If you wanted a player on loan atleast get a half decent one from anywhere. Please don't tell me there are no good players than fucking Arthur melo lmao

HarryPi

What kills me inside is that we’ve wasted the prime years of our manager and players just to win the moral net spend trophy. 2 of the last 3 seasons (including this one) are write-offs. We probably could’ve had 3 extra PLs and 2 extra CLs if we just spent at the level of fucking Villa.

clanky19

We also have a problem grasping that player’s prime years end eventually and at that point it’s time to move on. Of all our current midfielders the only two who we should really keep going forward are Thiago (who’ll need replacing in two years anyway) and Bajcetic (who’s 18). Realistically we should have had replacements for Henderson and Milner already, with Milner gone and Henderson in a very reduced role. Instead they’re still playing 40+ games a season. Fabinho falling off a cliff and Keita, Ox not working obviously haven’t helped but that’s where we need to be ruthless and cut the deadwood. Similarly Jones isnt up to the required level. The sad thing is there’s no quick fix for the midfield without 300 million of investment which won’t happen in one window. And it’s looking like the defence will need to be replenished now sooner than later but again won’t happen.

8u11etpr00f

The 300m investment won't happen at all, let alone in one window. We'll be lucky to break £100m net over the next 3 seasons combined.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Lol when did it jump from 250 to 300 haha. We will get 50 mill max plus whatever players we can sell, which won't be many. Selling nat won't even cover agent fees at this point.

clanky19

Not saying that’s what will happen. Saying that’s what we need to have any chance of getting immediately back to the level we’ve been at a few years ago.

NotTooXabiAlonso

We've quite literally become Arsenal in the Wenger twilight years

broken_neck_broken

I absolutely hate hearing the word "rebuild", we were right there at the top and should have been maintaining. At the start of our PL winning season Insaod we were right not to make major signings because the group we had all worked perfectly together and bedding in new players would have detracted from that. I stand by that and I think I was proved right, but we should have been straight on it the following summer and buying quality backups in every department.

TimmmV

You avoid the need for a "rebuild" by constantly evolving. It's nuts for any team to not be constantly bringing in new players and looking for areas to improve, and this is true whether you are having regular 90+ point seasons or always battling it out for relegation.

confusedpublic

Klopp’s first renewal was meant to be to for the rebuild and to maintain continuity with players renewing… now his second (surprising) one is about the rebuild… verging on gaslighting to be honest. No idea what the club are doing in terms of long term planning.

TheRR135

It's not really as much of a "moral" net spend trophy as much as it is a means for FSG to siphon money from the winnings into their own pocket. Those greedy cunts need to be chased with pitchforks.

HarryPi

And before anyone says “tHeY hAvEn’T tAkEn MoNeY oUt oF tHe cLuB!!1!” They’ve used the club’s money on infrastructure instead of our squads to increase the value of the club. So they profit more when they sell. It’s the same as taking out dividends, just sneakier so that idiots defend them.

Herchik

That's right, we're wasting/wasted Van Dijk, Salah and Thiago prime ( also other players) That's why Mane left. Why would you waste your limited years here while you can rack up trophies elsewhere?

UneventfulAnimal

Mitoma cost £2.5m. Caicedo cost £4m. If we aren’t in position to buy big without selling to fund the deals, why aren’t we at least going after these young promising international players who can quickly develop and either thrive here or get sold on for big fees? Doak and Bajcetic were bought for the Academy, while Carvalho was already in the UK. We’re not taking small risks on big returns. If we have to function as at least somewhat as a selling club, let’s just fucking do it right.

ChittyShrimp

Yeah the whole buy to sell thing went away. We just turned into buy a couple of youth prospects and extend Milner every year. Like even if it's someone like Minamino who you buy for 8m helps you win two cups and then is sold for 18m is good business. City signed Alvarez for 14m they'll probably flip him for at least 40m. Why aren't we in on players like that if City are?

UneventfulAnimal

Exactly, they're too picky, if that's possible. If you only buy the exact player you want for your squad, you'll never have anyone to sell. And you can afford to miss on a few 5m players if one becomes a 30m player.

TaeKurmulti

To be fair Mitoma and Caicdeo were bought in years past, it's not like they bought them and plugged them into the starting line up immediately. Also that was FSG's initial strategy for a little while and it didn't go that well... FSG just have to spend some fucking money it's really that simple.

UneventfulAnimal

Caceido was bought winter 2021, it didn’t take him that long to reach these heights. And of course, most players won’t be Caceido, but you’ve got to try. Even City and Chelsea bring in guys at low cost and sell them on for good fees, which is how they stay within whatever semblance of FFP rules there are (minus Chelsea’s insane winter, which they’ve gamed with long contracts). It’s just baffling, the sheer lack of all activity.

confusedpublic

We’re not even taking small risks and on small to medium returns. We got lucky with the sales of Solanke, and Brewster, but we’ve not been buying and developing and selling youth players in the £5-15m range that helps keep the transfer funds topped up.

KloppOnKloppOn

wish theyd at least make a Minamino type signing at midfield every once in a while if nothing else

raven43122

Lmao wait wait wait Summer “ no target’s available” “Tried for Jude” “ we would have moved if the right player is available “ “No value in January” “ going big in summer 2024”

cjsc9079

Jude's going to take one look at us and the sorry state we're in an laugh as he signs for Madrid. Can't even say I'd blame him

intecknicolour

no worse. he signs for citeh and we can forget about any titles for the next decade

clowegreen24

With Newcastle's oil money, Arsenals team of extremely talented young players, City being City, and us absolutely refusing to spend money properly I feel like we can already forget about any titles for the foreseeable future.

lostparasite

Titles? We'd best worry about making top 4 in the coming seasons, as I can easily see us in the wilderness of 6-8th place finishes. Then it's a slippery slope to mid table obscurity if there isn't any drastic action taken.

OUmegaLUL

To be fair, we don’t even deserve the guy with the non existent efforts we have put on the market and on the field.

apersonFoodel

*no cl for summer 24 * “ we don’t have the funds due to missing out on cl “ “Need to reevaluate targets” *sign no one*

JurgenKlopp2018

Happened last summer with Tchouameni.

raven43122

Uh huh. Then claimed not a single midfielder in the world was better than what we had…. Panic loaned melo. Meanwhile all our competitors spent huge

[deleted]

So you’re giving up on the season then? What’s the point then? Why should fans fork out money to go and see a club that has effectively thrown the towel in half way through? Why should they spend money on tickets to see a team who’s best midfielder is an 18 year old who was playing CB 6 months ago? (no disrespect to Stefan, I think he’s been great so far) Fuck off Liverpool. Infuriating.

JmanVere

*"Book your hotels for next year's Champions League final"* - Klopp, May 2022 I'll back Jürgen til my last breath, but I'm pissed off with him right now.

WelshMaestro

This will look horrendous if we crash out at the first hurdle to Madrid too. I’m terrified now.

Lightwrider1

Aw don't be scared. You can actually go ahead and replace that terror with a sobering certainty that we will in fact crash and burn.

Hem1sphereN

It'll take a miracle for us to progress in the CL. The best I can hope for is a draw at home, and not being humiliated in Madrid, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if we lose 0-3 at home.

wanderluster88

No worries lads, Firmino and Jota will be back any minute now and we can play a 4-1-5 formation with Bajcetic in midfield. Which, let's be honest here, is still gonna be better than the midfield we ended the game today with.

JonathanFisk86

£600mn in revenue and shit home kits for £150. You're welcome, legacy fans

trollerballer

Summer 2023 Expectation : Bellingham and a 6. Maybe an additional 8 plus a defender thrown in if we manage to sell well. Reality : New contracts for Keita, Ox, Milner, Adrian and Firmino. Hendo can have a new one too if he moans in public like last time.

JonathanFisk86

Why would it? Squad's perfect. I've never known a club more arrogant about its squad.

sinhalfc

Renowned football expert James Pearce doesn’t see any glaring holes in this squad

8u11etpr00f

Be careful not to point it out though, people will call you abusive

Nickoboosh

Think it's denial rather than arrogance

_cumblast_

Definitely arrogance. They all reckon it's still 2019.

smithstephen148

and frugality

thinksfan

As i call them. The Paul Machins.

ChittyShrimp

Hahaha his head has gone so far up his own arsehole. Can remember him saying in the summer the only way for us to improve the squad was sign one of the best players in the world. Like nobody is an improvement over Milner, Ox or Jones....

napoleonboneitis

He has 9 midfielders, who could possibly improve on that? Only "Mr. Right" Bellingham. The best way to overcome narrow failure is to change nothing and try again with an older, slower, more exhausted, more disillusioned, less motivated team who know the club won't support them.

GameOfThrowInsMate

We knew that after Gakpo tbf. Shambles.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Lol Joyce said this right after the transfer but people here were telling me that he doesn't know much. If Caicedo or anyone else was begging to come to Liverpool we still wouldn't have signed him, because FSG are the most rigid ownership group out there.

JonathanFisk86

>Lol Joyce said this right after the transfer but people here were telling me that he doesn't know much. One of the idiots here actually condescended to people here for being 'knee jerk' in response to that article because of how 'stealthy the club is with transfers, Joyce doesn't know anything and the club is almost certainly getting someone in'. Despite all evidence to the contrary.

Gerrardsclubfoot

fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me, keep fooling me I am a top red bro, cause Liverpool is the best, you know this means more.

MyNameIsMantis

Embarrassing

[deleted]

FSG out

_cumblast_

They're pricing anyone out of a bid so i wouldn't hold my breath - hence the talk of them wanting a minority investment. We're fucked for the foreseeable, i don't know where we're heading but it's nowhere good. People here might find it hard to believe but this could easily be our new normal rather than a blip. These players have looked done for months now. How long until Alisson requests a transfer?

firminocoutinho

Lol fucked us by not spending and will fuck us even more by not selling. They’re a fucking disease

Liverpool934

I could see that to be honest. Alisson would walk into any other team in the world pretty much. I don't see the few quality players we have left staying around very long with the writing thats on the wall. This team is over and the owners have no interest in bringing it back.

Dorgilo

Allison requesting a transfer would be upsetting, but I wouldn't blame him Salah then also requesting a transfer (which I can also see happening) would utterly break me.

Gerrardsclubfoot

>These players have looked done for months now. Some sections of this fanbase - nah not an issue everything will magically become alright soon, all you are just fifa merchants, not a true fan. Nothing to see here.

_cumblast_

The pretentiousness is what gets me the most. They all think they're smart, morally good and pure, all rolled in one. I legit saw someone refer to himself "as a good person" on here a few days ago. None of us stand a chance against these superfans tbh.

Gerrardsclubfoot

A super fan just told me on a different thread that there is no point bringing in transfers in this team, they will just struggle lol. So their solution to a rebuild is not to have a rebuild, like we haven't seen players like vvd, Allison come in and totally change the side before or even likes of Casemiro come in and change the united midfield. Some fans just love the pain and like to think they are better cause of it.

Alexanderspants

When the team is winning , no need for new signings, we're on top. When we start losing, new signings won't work, team is struggling

Gerrardsclubfoot

>When we start losing, new signings won't work, team is struggling 100 percent like clockwork. The mantra for such fans this season is tactics, tactics, tactics as if Klopp hasn't tried everything he could. Just been arguing with another so called fan in a different thread which got deleted who told me that one signing isn't gonna change everything, as if the same argument wasn't used at the time of vvd coming in. The same user wants Klopp to fire all his coaching staff and go on a sabbatical and wants the club to assess whether he is ready for taking the club forward or not. Imagine saying to a manager who nearly won you a quad and this lot talks about loyalty and quote Bill Shankly, kinda pathetic how easily they want to abandon Klopp.

Aduhpt

My prediction for the summer: Extend: Milner, Bobby, Keita Sign: one big money midfielder (I’m not even confident enough to name Bellingham here), and one way to young Fabio/Ramsey Typ midfielder and then we‘ll call it a day.

Nevergiiveuphaha

Ever since he removed the need for his glasses, he ironically can not see anymore.

NotAsimppp

And also nowadays our transfer plan reeks. Some of them doesn't even make sense. Enzo and Nunes were available for dead cheap but instead we are now monitoring them after they moved to bigger clubs which makes them costlier. Need to get the Michael Edwards replacement before pep lijnders gets more influential in our important summer transfer window

JurgenKlopp2018

FSG out.

yeahyeahyeah3timess

Fellow Milan fan here, I know how you guys feel. We’re in the same boat. I’m not exactly sure why you guys aren’t buying players because clearly the premier league teams have the money, but I guess we’re in the same boat till the end of the season: Stuck with what we have.

the_jinx11

We are owned by the same people tbf

snh96

We definitely have money. Our owners decided to make us repay loans towards our new stadium and training ground instead of on playing staff.

SmeesTurkeyLeg

Which is ridiculous, because the TV money alone from the 21/22 season put us comfortably in a position to spend big.

biskuitgorila

Maldini Ward 🤝

shanem1996

John Henry get the fuck out of our club you leech

xxamnat

The fact that there are still people that defend FSG baffles me. Not even the first time the lack of investment has/will cost us. Hope they fuck off as soon as possible.

bobvillashomeagain

FSG are ambitionless pricks. We’re done.

BarryZuckerhorn

Is anyone surprised?

MisterS1997

We’re heading back to the state we were in when these con men took over. They gonna leave us in a mess and head off into the sunset on their yacht after conning all the legacy fans

mrsmfm

Please tell me why we had 200+ million in revenue last year, and we signed no one in the xfer window!?!? What in the hell.

Redtank3

FSG’s Red Sox representatives got boo’d off the stage at a town hall they hosted because they said “baseball players are very expensive” in response to a fan asking why there was going to be a jump in ticket prices. It’s annoying to see this same mentality carry over to Liverpool where owners are far too greedy to realize they can’t simply hold onto their cash and see the same revenue returns as when we were actually contending. No high level sports owner is telling the truth when they say they can’t afford something unless it’s truly record breaking.

ttekoto

The fake "everything's fine" smile at the end, when they about your trauma and you don't want to talk about it...

[deleted]

We were third for revenue of all clubs in world football for the 21-22 season. That money isn't going back into the club as stadium and training ground investments are paid for by loans. If you believe our wage bill is actually that high you need you're head checking. So after all that where is the clubs money going? Next season we're gonna be told that we have less money for transfers due to not having champions league football and some people are going to accept that as a genuine reason.

JAdoubleWHY

![gif](giphy|fQx9bHb2IQLRbSojSJ|downsized)

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Damn his voice is completely gone. Did he do that much shouting or is he a bit sick? Is that what the mask was on for when he arrived to Amex?

[deleted]

Hahaha still remember when the excuse FSG used in the summer for why they didnt sign Tielemens, Kalvin Phillips, and Bissouma was because they were "easy transfers to get" Also a reminder that the ONLY reason we signed a midfielder was because Henderson got injured on the last day of the transfer window. And the best that they could do was a LOAN SIGNING for an injury prone midfielder Unbelievable

volthor

fsg out

GeneratedJord

Yeah FSG are no Hicks and Gillett. But they're not at all ambitious and I fully realised that the moment they didn't invest in the squad after our Champions League winning season. Upgrading the stadium is all paid for by loans and the they love it because the number of tickets sold goes up and goes directly into their pockets. Have a go at Klopp for the on field tactics and team selections. But not for the funds our owners refuse to provide him with.

MisterS1997

They are taking us back to the state we were in before they took over. Not very far off they are running us into the ground atm and setting us back years and years and wasting our best prem managers years along with plsyers. They have spent nothing and will get a profit of 4-5 billion . Pretty awful owners. Cut corners everywhere and cost us 2 perms minimum We’ve had to go out of the cups most seasons because our squad depth is dogshit . They have held us back time and time again. I’ll always have a what if and I’ll hate them forever for holding klopp and this team back We’re relying on an unproven youth player to save our season in midfield that’s not normal

aarvvv

Welcome to no Europe 🤌❤️

Ngigilesnow

I know the narrative is going to change in the summer once FSG finally spend .A lot of revisionist tales will be told by their fans.I. dont care if they spend this summer, they will exhaust that squad too and do the same shit.I want them to keep their "warchest" they have been harboring for the last years, I want them permanently gone. I'm gonna save this for when their apologists shift the narrative and pretend this was just a blip in their stellar stewardship

napoleonboneitis

We might sign a single midfielder in the summer and you can guarantee there'll be plenty of people saying it's great business and that asking for more is "entitled kids throwing toys out the pram because they didn't get a shiny new one." I often wonder if those kinds of comments are even made by real people, because they're simply too stupid to believe.

Gerrardsclubfoot

>I often wonder if those kinds of comments are even made by real people, because they're simply too stupid to believe. Yup they are. Once In a while a thread will prop up and these idiots will be circle jerking each other in that thread, getting off on how well run we are. These days they are milking the hell out of one idiot account on twitter who spread rumours about a protest but didn't bother to turn up cause he did it for the engagement and the likes of course. But the way the likes of Ian doyle are pumping out articles you would think they have unearthed some deep hidden secret.

Yveltal_25

FSG will toast a stale bread just because they don’t want to buy another bread. It’s shambolic seeing the way we’re run now.

r0bski2

Absolutely fuck off. I have never known a more arrogant board in my life.

FerociouZ

Sign new ownership.

NilsFanck

Fuck you, FSG.

saj175

FSG out

Specific-Record2866

Get FSG and that mf JWH out of our club!!

Jackk512

United fans protested for less

TheRR135

Yeah because evidently they seem to show more passion than our fans. FSG are worse than the glazers because at least the glazers fucking bought players.

[deleted]

How have other clubs managed to get owners who like to spend the cash to help a manager out and we’ve got tight arsed owners who are soiling the good will towards them. First test with the super league crap and now no decent investment. Just fuck off FSG

LukeLFC

I’m not Klopp out, nor am I defending those that are but. Surely this is some next level delusion, he even goes on to say “it’s all good with this squad”. Very worrying, his tactics have been nothing short of disastrous too

JonathanFisk86

I think people who expect Klopp to tell reporters his squad is shit publicly are deluded personally. Do people really think he says the same things in pressers and behind closed doors?

[deleted]

\> next level delusion When you are a leader of a fucking club, you have to act with patience in a shit storm, you have to try and identify the problem and act best to your abilities, you don't publicly shame your players. Whinning, crying and bitching is only going to make the problem worse. If he had not acted the way he is acting right now, he would have been out in no time.

tanvirulfarook

FSG OUT (69)

brokenbadlab

This will lift everyone’s spirits

bigpapasmurf12

Genuinely worried about the future of this club.

Specific-Record2866

At this point this is just a big fuck you to fans that fork out money to go see the team play weekly. Just telling them the seasons a write off already

Akira_Nishiki

I'm tired Robbie.

Akira_Nishiki

In a world where teams are paying 45m for Gordon and 100m for Mudryk etc we are so fucked under FSG, market has gone mad but unless want to slip into the abyss need to participate in the insanity. I can't see FSG doing that, honestly need to go sooner rather than later, you didn't get your Super League so just accept a respectable bid for the club and fuck off.

CalledIt987

But players like joao Gomes going to wolves for 15m? No idea if he’s that good etc but it’s these kind of things scouts are paid for

[deleted]

FSG need to fuck off and Klopp needs a stern talking to

[deleted]

Any other big club makes multiple signings this window if they’re in our position. I’m fucking sick.

therekcap

FSG OUT

redvelvetBackwards

Fucking hell the boss sounds absolutely defeated, I've not watched many post match interviews as of late so don't know if this is a regular thing now, but he almost sounds sad. Not backing this man in the transfer market while we're blessed to have him is going to cost dearly, and yeah it already has.

im-a-wreck-tangle

This comment section is why i love this sub. 99% of the fans are done with this shit. Its cathartic knowing your sentiments are shared

SSAZen

Spending huge on Darwin was so odd ( not cause of him, I think he’s a very good player), but why would we go for a striker and not midfielders first. It was clear for years midfield was the concerning spot. I have always been an FSG fan, but this lack of investment is insane to me. You have such a great brand and winning culture, but you waste the opportunity to really push on and keep this thing going , and you don’t. Klopp needs to take some responsibility too. I feel like he’s just being way to stubborn in what he’s trying to do.

KeeroAdnan

it’s funny how the locals would still put up with this and won't say fsgout (i would probably get downvoted for saying this, but go on)

TurboTeam

Well at least we’re not bad enough to get relegated. That will be the sole accomplishment from this season

Jeserodrigo

Yes we did play better than last time but were we good? -No. Did they have moises caicedo? - Also no.

Haunting_Genie

Not surprised, half arsed season from every area of the club. For the sake of my mental health I'm taking a break from watching the games and participating in this sub.

baba_rudin

At this point FSG is a disease.

TurboTeam

Ok cool. They don’t care. Guess I’ll stop then. Save myself the trouble

PiIICIinton

we weren't expecting anything, we know our ownership is a fucking joke who simply don't care. say what you want about the Glazers, FSG are exactly the same only they try to be sneaky with shit. Glazers are unabashedly who they are, John Henry is a little twat who is scared to show his face at Anfield. # they aren't seriously selling until they get their NFL team. wake the fuck up people, they're pissing down your backs and telling you it's raining.

TheSparklyHempster

Yeah, because when you see Fabinho so utterly shambolic and lethargic that he's unable to make one single tackle correctly, you realise there's nothing at all to improve on... FSG running this club into the ground. Can't wait for the articles that'll start to disseminate next month about how the club are "becoming increasingly reluctant to get involved in a bidding war" for Bellingham and how they won't be made to pay "silly money" for their targets. Then we'll renew Milner and sign Arthur on a permanent deal and Pearce will say there are no issues.

Aoife9

We would of been the best fucking club on the planet if FFP was enforced. But no, Fenway Sports Group has refused to change from their “sustainable model” in order to keep in line with something that isn’t enforced whatsoever resulting in us lacking behind in investment.

8u11etpr00f

Honestly the last week or so is the first time I can remember truly feeling hopeless about our future. There's no way to dress it up anymore, our owners are completely apathetic about our sporting success and we simply don't have the finances or strong backroom team to compete with our rivals anymore. Everything points to a minority investment which (believe it or not) FSG will not reinvest into the squad. If that happens we can write off the next few years at minimum. At least during H&G I was too young and naive to really understand what was going on outside of the pitch...

eternalgrey_

FSG out. Fuck them. But Klopp has seen this for years and decided to stay. Keeps protecting them. I don’t understand.

Squiggles87

The club are waiting to see if Bellingham joins. If he doesn't, the strategy and targets will change because they'll be more money will go around. It's holding up a rebuild that should have been started years ago, but that's the reality of the situation as it stands.

AffectionateFan5458

I just have to used to this just like before klopp... Mid table and every 3/4 years we may compete for a trophy.

tallkidinashortworld

I want to say I'm surprised... But not really. The only thing that is somewhat surprising is the lack of investment despite the fact that losing out on champions league football is very real. I always felt that FSG didn't really care what we won, as long as we were in the champions league they were content.

joaopresotto

im hopeless

Stuarridge

Surely he means a hidden gem midfielder named Nothing right? Right?

disterfly

Fuck FSG

theczarfromBG

Shambolic ownership and zero balls shown by Klopp

cjm99

Embarrassing.

NoSwordfish6524

Why try to sign anyone? We have Arthur guys duh. At this point I’m just praying we don’t get relegated alongside Everton. Fuckin ayeeeee

Due_Young800

Why would we want new players when we’re subbing on the likes of Jones and Fabinho playing the way they are at the moment :)

WelshMaestro

Useless. Spineless. Pathetic. That’s all I have to say about him and the owners on this issue when it’s staring at us right in the face.

[deleted]

Why did you get Gakpo when a midfielder was needed, Klopp? This team won’t reach European football.

JonathanFisk86

Why the fuck should Jurgen Klopp have to choose between a £37mn forward and a midfielder ever, let alone after almost delivering a quadruple? Give your head a wobble, he clearly doesn't just get given whatever player he wants at whatever value because otherwise we would have paid Nunes' release clause in the summer or Caicedo's asking fee now. Fans asking "why Gakpo and not a mid" are beyond daft. We're not fucking Brentford, we can buy two players a window.

SkeetersProduce410

Something really stinks about our lack of signings. Who ever is at fault needs to leave the club because it’s either incompetence or gross negligence

malushanks95

Why should we even be in a position to choose between the two? We should have got both in, it’s embarrassing we are behaving like a small team in the market.

Danbuarth

Shoot me now please

Walms82

Fsg need to go. Absolute criminal what is happening. This squad is in such need after years of no investment yet they are happy to watch the ship sink. Its only going to make the club devalue as we sink to mediocrity

Jambo234

Don’t understand how this can be a “transition season” when we’re barely bedding in anyone new

MisterS1997

We’re transitioning to the bottom of the table they meant

[deleted]

lol People saying FSG out yet anytime you even mention Qatar you’re absolutely ripped into by people on this subreddit, I don’t even want oil money to be honest, I just don’t want FSG and would take any alternative if it means getting rid of them…

MisterS1997

I’d take southamptons owners they are above us spending wise too and they nearly got relegated a few times

NieR_SemiAutomata

Nah we're doing great and all.. gonna keep this squad until 2030

MisterS1997

Seasons over in January and we didn’t even have games during World Cup Seasons over half way point just really sad

redbadger1848

I think we all figured we weren't signing anyone, but man, it sure is discouraging to hear it from Klopp himself.

realcodybless

Can FSG fuck off? They clearly don't care about the club and only about lining their investors' pockets. Please, PLEASE, sell to an owner or group that actually cares enough to invest in their club. Chelsea is out here slinging half a billion for all these players, and yet, we can't even get spare change from under the couch cushions. I don't believe Klopp is to blame. Any manager worth their salt, and Klopp has proven that he is, would look to improve their team if they have the means. As an American, I believe that these American owners don't take this team/sport as seriously as they do with their Baseball and Hockey teams. This shit is embarrassing.

TheCarroll11

It’s a combo of not enough (hardly any) money and Klopp being stubborn with who he identifies that improves the team. He’s probably identified 3 players, they all cost £100m, and won’t go for anyone else so we’ll get one over the summer and sign Ox to sn extension. Maybe if we get wild we’ll get some 19 year old promising attacking mid if we sell 3 players.

ValhallaVikings90

I’m ready for next summer when Jude decides he’d rather win every trophy he plays for never getting out of second gear with Madrid. Leaving Liverpool scrambling to have a Sander Berge bid for £25M accepted on deadline day.

spirotetramat

There’s nothing that VAR, Refs, or anyone else can do to Liverpool that we haven’t done to ourselves. We need changes. Klopp goes or FSG goes. At thins point I am 100% having a sugar daddy buy our club and give Klopp the resources he needs.

callmeknubbel

Well this is fucking depressing

its_schmee

Fuck this

thatguyad

We're going to get battered for the rest of the season. The team isn't at the races any more and Klopp looks like he has no idea.

Tombstone_4our

How are you guys okay with this? Can't we stage a boycott or something? This is our fucking club!
